I perhaps was a bit over critical in my last comment about the X-Pro1. I have both the X-Pro1 and the X-Pro 2 and I stand by what I said the X-Pro2 is an all round better camera. That doesn't make the X-Pro1 a bad camera. My problem is the the way some individuals rave about it gives the impression that it is better than it is. I paid £329.00 for mine and if you get it for less it is worth a punt. But the camera is not without issues that barely get mentioned. The EVF was clearly designed for someone with 20/20 vision in mind. My sight is not great I wear glasses and I struggled with the EVF. I had to buy a Diopter Correction Lens So I could use the EVF and that was another £25.00 on top of what I had spent on the camera. The EVF and LCD screen are not great in bright sunlight so it is just as well the OVF is as good as it is. If you use the Macro mode it will disable the OVF and you can only get it working again by going into the menu and resetting the camera. Then there are the possible issues with focusing and slow write speed, all though to be fair the focusing is not as bad as some suggest it is. As far as I'm concerned the real plus points of The X-Pro 1 is that image quality is everything w you would expect from Fujifilm and that it is lighter than my X-Pro2. I f you are on a budget and the X-Pro1 appeals to you , you won't be disappointed with the results you get. But you just need to be aware that it is not a perfect camera. Anyway that's all I've got to say.

Yeah man with you on that about film being discouraging when you don’t get keepers. That’s exactly why I got the Xpro2 when I had it. Vintage glass on digital is such a nice way to get the ease of digital but enough of that analog process to make the overall shooting experience a joy.

Ahh I loved my X-Pro 1 and shot with it almost daily, even when I had full frame options and 120 film cameras. It was something special and I definitely agree with the “film-feeling” type of vibe especially paired with a Helios-44 with a speedbooster. Just fucking incredible, really. However, I sold mine after I got my X-T3 since it was much more reliable. I do miss it so much but it deserves to be used and loved. Great video, Leo!

Leo, I agree that the X-Pro1 with a vintage lens brings you closer to the film shooting experience. Mine is mated to a vintage Russian lens ( no focus ring 😅) & the images are slow, soft, muted & quite maddening or very addictive. But, if you really want a closer film-like experience from a digital 📷, I highly recommend the Epson R-D1. Pricey but worth the 💵. You really have to slow down & set the camera accordingly to get the image. When it’s done right, the quality of the image is most satisfying & rewarding. Regardless, always shoot in manual mode to develop your own signature. 📸✌🏼

I just got 1 myself. I'm ready for it to get here. I have a xt1 but I only have vintage lens, I don't own any auto fuji lenses. Also I saw a video saying that the xpro 1 doesn't have classic chrome nor I can't use many of the film simulations. Is that true? Plus the price of the xpro 1 are going up. If you're lucky you might find 1 around $300-$400 but it's really beat up. They're going for $600-$1100 now 🤦🏿‍♂️I've been on fb market and ebay for almost 6 months now.

On the other hand having only DSLR styled cameras X-Pro line is still in my sight, but rather X-Pro 2 or 3, even the X-100V, if for nothing else, than because of weather sealing. Yeah mine is still going strong 💪🏻.
It is a different camera paired with the fujicrons f2 then with the original XF lenses in term of AF and noise.
I use an 7Artisans 35/1.2 to MF and it is a joy to use. Only drawback, in the OVF the frames are off, hard to judge framing w/o going to the EVF? Your experience too? Even though enterred the 35mm etc in the menu....
I did also tape the top to give it a smoother look but recently took it of again, actually proud to show the ‚1‘. Such a classic !!!
What is/was your fav native lens on the XP1?
