    A short review of the FUJIFILM X-Pro 1. These are my first impressions of this inspirational camera. I take the camera to the Kent coast and take a series of black and white landscape and seascape photographs, to test out the camera.
    This is the best FUJIFILM camera I have ever shot with. It's truly an inspirational camera, and gave me so much joy. It may not have the fastest autofocus, but for landscape photography that doesn't matter.

    now slap a 1/4 black pro mist filter on your lens and really get that filmic vibe. bpm filters have a been a game changer for me with regard to stripping that clinical sterility from digital images. with the right film simulation and a bpm filter the images look so much like they were shot analog. definitely worth a play.

    Lovely video Chris! I tried and own/owned almost all Fujifilm cameras but recently for my need for artistic black and white photography I found out should buy an xpro1 and I did! I don't care and don't want electronic and digital features and functions BUT image quality and I believe that's it "XPro1 a revolutionary digitalized analog camera sensor"! for years after old school studying photography in college and practicing film development, I think I lost myself, my vision, my enjoying photography by forcing to focus on technical aspects of cameras and lenses, investing and spending lots of time and fortune for new buttons, new features, day after day... and now again go backward to find that missing part "Art of Photography". No need to hands-on an analog camera or film shooting again, because this camera sensor is performing Film quality and not only film simulation. I don't understand why all people miss led to the practice in the wrong way of photography?! cheers.

    I'll come back to this when the HD version finishes processing, just wanted to say I knew you'd love this camera. I love both of mine to bits and see no reason to upgrade. I use one with Fujnon glass, and the other with a slightly stronger diopter for using manual only lenses through the EVF. It's a camera that just compels me to use it.

    • @thuddi1
      @thuddi1 3 года назад +1

      What diopter are you using Derren Poole? And does it make manual focusing easier? - Thor

    • @derrenleepoole
      @derrenleepoole 3 года назад

      @@thuddi1 Nikon do a replacement. Just search eBay for Fuji X-Pro1 diopter Nikon, or something like that, and you'll find one. Amazon sell them also. The diopter strength for Nikon is a bit misleading, so it's better to use one that's one number under the one you would normally use. So for example, Fuji's own diopter I'm a +1, but with Nikon I use a 0 - this gives me good all around use for the OVF/EVF with Fuji's own lenses. For manual focus lenses I use the Nikon +1, it really does help crispen up the EVF for manual focus, espcially on a lens like the 7Artisans 35,, f0.95. But the +1 makes the OVF blurry for me as it's a bit too strong for that. That's okay on my second body though as the OVF is cracked due to a fall, so don't use it.

    Chris, rented the X-Pro3 when it first came out and loved it, but the price was way over my budget. I have been looking at the X-Pro 3 prices and they just aren’t dropping at all so I am now looking at the X-Pro1 or 2 as they are both more reasonable prices. If I can find a X-Pro2 I can afford I may get one but the X-Pro1 is what I have been looking at the most but have been worried about the image quality… watching this has resolved any worry I had. Thanks!

    Hi Chris, Really enjoyed the video. I have a X-Pro1 and a X-Pro2. There is no doubt that the black & white images the X-Pro1 creates are a bit special. But I've got to be honest and say that I prefer the X-Pro 2.I just find it an all round better camera. I've never had the issues that I've had with the X-Pro1. The viewfinder was the first problem. I had to buy and fit a Dioptre adapter lens before I could get a sharp image. Even then I prefer using the OVF to the EVF. I've had issues with the speed the camera writes to an SD card, I've had the camera freeze on me, something that has never happened with my other Fuji's. Having said all that I would not part with it. It is lighter than my other cameras and it still surprises me in terms of the image quality it can produce.

    No I do not think that your Stupid, due to that I also have the Fuji XPro1, and XE1. But I use my Nikon Nikkor Manual Focus lenses as it works, and could afford Fuji Lenses, and as I place the film simulation modes to Soft Color, and as for the B/W mode that I place it to Neopan, as I wish that I set it to ISO 400 as I think that it has Neopan 400. Also the Shutter is Very QUIET on both XPro1, and XE1. Love shooting in Overcast days. Good video

    I don’t see the point of getting the X-Pro1 if you’ve already had X-E1. Why not getting the X-Pro2 instead?

      Because the XP2 sucks. It does everything way, way better than the XP1, and it will even reasonably focus a lens on what you want, but the colours this sensor produces are messed up.

      No, I've had this camera, and its output is glorious. The camera itself tho, well, Fuji forgot to include some sort of means to focus a lens.

    The problem with the X-Pro 1 is that it has no dioptre adjustment, and the screw on dioptre lenses are no longer available and as rare as hens' teeth used. If you've got perfect eyes, it's not an issue.

    it reminds me of the old song:

    suddenly appear,
    every time
    you are near"
    or something like that...
    anyway, great camera and lovely images :-)
