  • Street Photography in Tokyo. Exploring Ikebukuro with the Fuji X-Pro 1 and Fuji XF 27mm F2.8 pancake lens
    Once again I explore a district of Tokyo to do some street photography and take some candid snaps. This week I am venturing into a new area for me called Ikebukuro, as it is my first time here I wander aimlessly searching for some good street photos whilst testing out the Fuji X-Pro 1 for the first time. The question is does the first generation X-Trans sensor really live up to the hype?
    Join me on my photo journey as I give you my unique tour of the area coupled with plenty of POV street photos.
    All images were shot RAW then edited in capture one Pro. I used Fuji's Velvia profile as a starting point, then adjusted levels and cropped the images until I was happy with the outcome.

      Visions in Tokyo I got one to go in the desk at my office so I can just wander around with it at lunchtime. Great camera and different images from my xpro3. Deffo agree with you that the menu system seems archaic in comparison!

    I started shooting professional back in 1998 and finished shooting film back in 2013. I transitioned to digital back in 2003 but even with my latest xt3 I still felt all my pics were too digital. So I purchase the xpro1 and paired it with some old minolta and yashica glass and the images and colours were amazing. Unfortunately I sold my xpro 1 at the start off lock down to pay a few bills. Great video btw

    Cool work... still using my XT1 for street and picked up 2 x Pro 1's in excellent nick for £250 each. Using adaptors and vintage lenses at present on the Pro's as primarily zone focus so tempted to step out of my comfort zone and hit the streets with one instead of the T . Really coo,captures btw

    Very nice! Great review and very nice how you do this with filming in normal view and showing what the picture looks like in that situation with the pro1-27mm setup. Thanks.
    One thing i miss is your final conclusion. You start with xpro1 related to xpro3 but you do not mention anything about your conclusions about picturequality, colours, colourrendering. Also i like to hear about this compared to the pro3.
    I am really interested but one thing never change... i love my pro1! ( i also have pro2 and xt3)
    Thanks mate and keep up the good work. Love to see more vids from you! Miklos

      thanks for watching and sorry for the late reply, i mount a go-pro on the camera so the video is from that and the photos are from the camera. To be honest, to my eye there really wasnt much difference. I ended up selling the pro 1 as I just never used it and always went for the pro 3, to me it is a better camera in many ways. I got the pro 1 initially to be a compact set up, but now I have the ricoh gr3 which is my compact daily carry and I am enjoying using it so far.

    Hi Visions in Tokyo, another great outing around parts of Tokyo. Actually I have only just purchased an X-PRO2 and I love this camera man! the form factor is beautiful, so I do hope to get the 3 towards the end of the year! But seriously though, would you recommend I pick up an X-PRO1, or would I find it slightly inferior to the X-PRO2? ....Thanks for your opinion!

    • @Visions_in_Toyko
      @Visions_in_Toyko  4 года назад +1

      I would certainly say that coming from an xpro 3 it feels a lot more dated and not quite as smooth to use, but the experience of using it feels great. I would say that if you can find one in good condition for a decent price there and you have the spare cash there is no reason not to get one as a back up. It’s a lot cheaper then the 3 that’s for sure.

    Nice vid , love the 27mm , use it often , just wish it had an aperture ring .

    • @Visions_in_Toyko
      @Visions_in_Toyko  4 года назад

      Yes I know the feeling. I love the small form factor so I guess in order to make it so small the aperture ring had to go. But it’s nowhere near as intuitive to me to use a dial and I would occasionally knock it by mistake just when handling the camera.

      im hoping for an updated 35mm f1.4 hopefully the same optical formula that made people fall in love with it, but wr and faster autofocus. i have the f2 version which is a great little lens but it just lacks that little touch of magic from the f1.4 I actually had the 1.4 but sent it back as i think i got a bad copy that just wouldnt focus right at all. i ended up getting an old manual minolta instead which is probably my favorite lens at the moment

      I would certainly say the X-pro 1 is a great gateway into the fuji system, especially as they can be picked up pretty cheap. Its not as well rounded as the X-pro 3 but to be fair it can be picked up for 1/4 of the price if you find a good deal online. I would recommend
