The mundane and abstract are what I mostly photograph. It's great to have a broad overview of the various techniques, especially in Shinjuku. I was there last month and I couldn't get enough of it.

I never really comment on youtube but feel compelled to do so here... I loved this video. I started getting into photography just a couple of months ago and felt myself hitting walls with street photography, and after this I feel inspired to find ways of capturing the mundane yet compelling things that exist everywhere. Really useful tips, thanks for making this. Tokyo looks beautiful.

Thanks for the comment. I hit a wall so often with street that I think it’s necessary to keep looking for new ways to capture things and techniques to try. Glad you got something out of this. 🫡

I really like this video. It's very stylish with awesome production values. The tips were great, but the pictures were even better. Some really great ideas here and although I've never tried street photography yet, I would like to do it in this style.

really good shots here! you might enjoy under the railway bridge in yurakucho if you haven't been there yet, it's covered in 50 years of film posters which have peeled and worn. great for texture work

I admire Haas (brilliant color photos), even though I mostly shoot in B&W. Perhaps studying (a bit) of abstract paintings like Dali, Maggrite can be useful.

Haas prided himself on his abilities to shoot in b&w and color. Should check his b&w work out.
