don't check the ps5 only games page. it's misleading because some ps5 games are cross-gen with PS4. GOW Ragnarok is a ps5 exclusives yet isn't even on that page
The N64 and GameCube were more powerful than the Sony consoles of the day and sold poorly. They were on the verge of leaving the hardware business so kept the Wii as inexpensive to manufacture as possible and had their most successful system ever. This taught them that performance was not related to the success of their system.

@@gwensalador4325which had to do with the consoles. N64 stayed with cartridges and had crazy high fees since Nintendo was the #1 console maker till then. PS1 was cheap to make games on and Sony didn't charge as much as Nintendo. Then GameCube went with the mini discs that caused more costs for third party devs to use multiple discs vs 1 disc on PS2 and Xbox and they also didn't want to do online which was becoming popular due to Xbox.
Yeah, now they purposefully try to limit themselves and find ways to work around it. It also allows their console to sell for cheaper than the playstation and xbox consoles, making it a more affordable and tempting alternative. A very interesting method of going about things but seemingly it works, for Nintendo at least.
I wouldn't be mad waiting a few more years, as long as the keep releasing good games and maybe bring ore dlc to smash

I really do wish they would make a powerful console. I know their focus is more on creating games that are unique and creative thanks to their hardware being unique, but I dont see why they can't combine both unique creativeness and power. Just imagine the same games we already gave with 120fps or stunning graphics. Not only their own games would be even better, but more third party support. More chances for third party developers to create games using the hardware's creativeness that wouldnt appear on other consoles. The only issue would be more cost, but I still think it would be worth it
At this rate I don't see Nintendo releasing a new console until early 2025.
I would say holidays 2025 for the next Nintendo console and hopefully sometime this fall we'll get a leak with actual prof of their next Nintendo console!👍

Probably not cuz most home consoles by nintendo did really badly compared to the handhelds and the switch is a hybrid console which is really useful unlike other gimmicks they have done
It was more around the Wii that Nintendo dialed back the specs. N64 was technically superior to PS1 in terms of raw graphical power but suffered limitations due to its small RAM size. And the PS2 was well known to be considerably weaker than the Gamecube and Xbox.
They absolutely have reported on the development of a new console! In fact Several times they have made statements about it

It's not anymore powerful and just gives the same screen that's been on our phones since 2019 they didn't even give it 4k dock output
i feel like its time for nintendo to release a powerful console mainly for 60fps perfomance and cod games coming on switch
Not only that but I swear Nintendo has the best games out there, they're basically the only company who actually puts out finished and polished games nowdays(that is if we exclude Pokémon but Pokémon is mainly made by gamefreak so my point stands),,, even though their games are probably well optimised just because of the switch's low power they are still optimised and polished games nonetheless

@@deacolog in sales, the ps2 was the least powerful, the xbox came out less than 2 months after the gamecube, and sega was always really damn good but the dreamcast was part of the gen before. the ps2 might have debatable been the best but in power it's objectively the worst, bigger game sizes do NOT amount to power or graphics

I swear people forget the last times Nintendo competed in power races between Sony and Microsoft, they flopped. The Gamecube failing was the reason Nintendo left the power race in the first place.

Oh man, the whole reason I've been saying it's ridiculous people are asking for a switch 2 is because a: that would be commercial failure, as the wiiU was and B: I completely disregard wiiU as a new console so I thought it was standard for a 5-10 year gap between consoles. Honestly as long as a switch 2 isn't released (and instead it's something with a different design) Nintendo will be fine

Here’s my opinion on the Switch models and their specifications. The regular 2017 Switch is fine with 4GB RAM and a Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU, but the Lite should have 3GB RAM, and the 2019 Switch should have 6GB RAM and a slightly faster 2.5GHz CPU, and the OLED Switch should have 8GB of RAM, and a CPU similar to a Core i3.
A handheld more powerful than the switch would simply be too expensive. And that would limit the accessibility of Nintendo games
And from that $67 Billion Switch revenue until Feb 2023 Nintendo got >30% profit unlike PlayStation got only
I love my switch. It’s one of my all time favorite consoles (I’m 19 lol). Everything besides the lack of power and stickdrift is efficient. And honestly, I don’t really see the need in a whole new console. I feel like there’s more to show for the switch. I just wish they’d just make a “Switch pro” addressing these issues and I’d be beyond happy.

I mean sure they don’t focus on graphics, but the Switch is getting to the point where it can barely load their new games. Like TOTK has constant frame drops when using Master Hand or Fuse.
Like I love the games Nintendo puts out, but there needs to be an upgrade and a big one. I don’t care if it’s not PS5 level, but at least let it be PS4 pro level or something. Like Nintendo needs something that can process their games and 3rd party games as well. Like sure Nintendo can somehow stuff these huge games into the Switch, but most 3rd parties don’t even try because it would cost them more money than they’d make 9\10. If the console had more power, Nintendo would get bigger 3rd party games.
And 97% of the Nintendo Switch games arent even that good. Most of them are either very boring or very bad in performance. Nintendo games are extremely overpriced. Even the console itself is very expensive because it is outdated

Its not surprising. Nintendo struck gold with the switch and struck a balance that allows it to still be relevant. N64 and Gamecube focused on high end specs. Xbox just happened to come out the same time and was a mystery before launch but still managed to make better looking games than the more powerful xbox

Because they don't know what to do in this decade. A gimmicky portable console worked in 2017 but it won't work this decade. The future is digital stores and cloud streaming. Many companies like Valve, Epic, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Apple are heading towards it. Nintendo is figuring out its place in this future.
Historically, Nintendo has 5 tears between their home consoles, not 6. In fact, the Wii U was even shorter, for obvious reasons.
Actually its because Hoyoverse, Sony and a few other competing Console developers have been fiercly going for the new age of consoles... Dive VR or Full Dive VR... MiHoYo currently still owns the most advanced machine on this field capable of treating coma patients... But its still a stretch to game while laying down... So likely the next age will bring a ready player one scenario when it comes to consoles...

Sonic Frontiers struggles on XBox One and PS5 (and high end PC). It has lower graphics and only 30 FPS on Switch. Pop in is bad even on the newest consoles. Just saying.
