Nintendo has had so many downs because they are not afraid to experiment, unlike Xbox and Playstation. Xbox and Playstation are popular consoles because they stick with what they know has worked before and heavily improve on it more and more. Nintendo just takes a different approach than them where they constantly try new things they've never tried before, no matter the risk of it completely failing, out of curiosity.
I say go for Xbox or Playstation if you want a console that is a good console by purely objective standards, and go for Nintendo if you want a console that is unique and has ups and downs to it that no other console has. I trust Xbox and Playstation if I want the best when it comes to measurable standards (frame rate, memory, graphics, security, etc.) and I trust Nintendo if I want a unique and innovative experience other consoles cannot give me, like handheld consoles.

@Carver Ze Derp I had assumed that there would be a DS/3DS slot on the system or add on like the Super Gameboy but they never took advantage of both their products that dual screens. Meanwhile, homebrew hacks make that possible. Marketing for the Wii U was horrible, but Im one to believe that if the Wii U had DS functionality, the Wii U would have sold many being that the DS/3DS had such a high install base. Even with some households having 2 or more DS/3DS handhelds.
Definitely wasted potential, though I loved the system. Though I like my Switch as well, it came out way to early.

Brings back so many memories of my early childhood to now. I remember when I was very little, I had the N64 where I first played MARIOKART. Then I was later given as a present the Game Boy. And then I remember later on I wanted the GameCube which I got I think either for my birthday or for Christmas. And that’s where I first played Animal Crossing. I played the other versions on the other systems as well. I then asked about a year or two later Santa for a blue DS Lite, and a few years later I got the DS i XL which was a surprise present from my grandma. And when I graduated from middle school, my grandma got me the Wii as a graduation present. I eventually also got the 2DS only because it was slightly cheaper and now I have the Nintendo Switch. I still love them all and Nintendo to this day! Animal Crossing, Super Mario Bros., MARIOKART, MARIO PARTY, and all the other classics are still my favorite to this day. And I can’t wait to see Super Nintendo World when it opens at Universal Studios!

I grew up playing GameBoy and I still think Nintendo is unrivaled when it comes to fun and shared experiences. Sure there’s good games among the competitors, but no one does shared gameplay quite like Nintendo. I enjoy many titles by myself on other consoles, but when I wanna play with friends I pick the switch every single time. I also like that Nintendo keeps their games animated. Personally I think that style is more appealing than hyper realistic titles

I was a Nintendo kid growing up. I had a NES & SNES. I have both Classic NES & SNES Mini systems. Love them both.

Awesome video! Was there a reason the Nintendo Disk Drive was left out of this list, or was it just forgotten?

can we just appreciate how much effort Nintendo put into their Nintendo cards? I remember being a young kid in the 1880's, having so much fun playing that card game!
