ChrisFix I know how to change my brakes and all thanks to your video but what do I do if my breaks are stuck to the caliper ? If you can answer it will be awesome thank you
Chris has saved me so much money it's not even funny. I got my truck quoted for upper and lower ball joints, brakes, a new water pump, and front wheel bearings, the shop quoted me roughly 3300 dollars and I was able to source parts and do it myself for less than $700. So unbelievably grateful that my 13 year old curious self brought me to his videos and started getting interested in cars. Thank you so so much for everything you've done Chris! keep being amazing bro
Yes, this gentleman just gets to the point, no BS. Also no weird and irrelevant music. I need to patch my exhaust pipe asap before smog check! Doesn't have to be permanent. Eventually I'll go to the muffler pro in town who does great work and get'er done . Or sell the truck ...
Just found this video. Saved me going into shop to get a clamp tightened. Probably would have been $200 just for that. 😅. vacuum trick is awesome!!!! Found a two leaks tightened one and added putty in other. Chris you saved me money!!!! Have a blessed life. Big Thanks!!!
I feel like you're my mechanic. I've never been so obsessed with a channel before! Your editing, explanations, information, and everything is fantastic. You do an AMAZING job and I hope you are proud of yourself and your work!
Got to tell you, man. I’ve been a driveway mechanic and builder of racing cars for over 40 years. Your videos are well done, well thought out, produce quality results for those who follow them, and bring out some innovations to boot. Using the vacuum cleaner/blower trick is genius!
That’s exactly what I was thinking lol. I’ve been repairing my own cars for almost 40 years and that’s the first time I’ve seen the vacuum trick lol What’s funny to me is I’ve been doing the reverse of that while wiring buildings for decades and this just never occurred to me lol
I thought that was really unique and cool too. An inventive, economical and totally safe way to do it. I especially liked switching it to suction during the putty application. That's thinking!
That JB weld extreme heat saved my ass a week ago. I bought a car Brooklyn and I need to drive in 20 miles north to my job to work on it but i hadn't registered the car yet and i need to get to work on it asap. The car had a huge crack in the headers so i put that stuff on and left it overnight. Came back the next day it and it works perfectly so slapped on some plates i had, my photoshopped registration and inspection and drove that across the Brooklyn Bridge, up the FDR, thru the Bronx, and up into Connecticut. If that stuff failed then my ass would be in jail now. Now I recommend that stuff to everybody!!
This dude is a hero. I know how to do many of these fixes, but I always find myself second guessing myself. So great to be able to hop on here, get that reassurance AND helpful tricks, to make the process even easier. Thank you, Chris!

U deserve every bit of the success you've had since starting the channel and more. For real I don't know you but I can say I'm proud to know someone like you lmao
Was in shock to find out that the JB Exhaust weld actually worked. My 2015 Ford Explorer was ticking from the engine compartment. Many said it was a lifter, but it only made that noise when I accelerated. I did the vacuum cleaner test with soapy water and bubbles were coming up from all over the manifold. I used the same putty in jar as you had. It did not cure all the way after 2 hours and used the heat gun as you suggested. IT WORKED!!!! Thank you!!!!
I just got accepted for my first job as a trainee/apprentice mechanic an hour ago. 90% of what I know, I've learned through your videos. You are the inspiration for my career. I really hope you can feel good about that :D Much love man, keep it up!
I'm glad to hear, as the news about the job made my day! I've worked on the cars of a few friends too, and like you say - treat them like your own (or your mums!). Thanks for all your work again!
Just fixed my exhaust leak on the manifold of my 1999 camry. Saved me time and a lot of money. Couldn't have done it without ChrisFix. Thank you so much brother! Very easy step by step instruction video.
Don't have a car, but will be getting my license in March. Have my eyes set on a Honda civic (1990- 2001), but just because I don't have a car or can drive it doesn't mean I can't enjoy great content, that A: Will help me so much. And B: watch Chrisfix, because it's chrisfix
I was watching this long before I got my licence or car and it's one of those things that is great if you want to save a lot of money while owning a car
I had honda civic 1999 vtec, but the biggest problem is rust. It is literally everywhere. I have been driving it for about 2 years, and then I got myself honda accord 2004 2.4 vtec sedan, and it is absolutely amazing car
My first car is the Audi A3 from 1997. Cóupes just rule and i love the design of the Audi. And thanks to Chrisfix i already learned some stuff if i ever need to repair something.
I'v been getting an O2 sensor code, and have noticed a louder exhaust coming from the front, near the engine. This video helps me prove my suspicion that it was an exhaust leak, damn!
The only bad detail. Is that traditional exhaust holes due to rust. Are NEVER on beautifully straight pipe sections. It's rather on highly twisted sections most times with perpendicular surfaces. :-( When a section like this develop a rust hole the rest of the exhaust is long gone into the exhaust heaven. LOL :-)
0422 code and cracks in all 3 manifold pipes. Used a shop vac to pull extremeheat into each crack. Cured 48 hrs then used vacuum and second coat to plug any missed areas. Cured 48 hours. On first 2 mile drive, the epoxy puffed out in areas going from smooth finish to bubbly surface, but no cracks. Drove on highway a few days later 15 miles and passed emissions. Will definitely change the manifold soon, but not until the epoxy cracks. Thanks Chris Fix! Used wire brush and 150 grit to prep, and 90% ipa to clean before epoxy application.
1 week later: Some hairline cracks have appeared now when the engine cools down. When the car runs, they seal up. The hardened epoxy is likely expanding and contracting with temp, but so far it is working to suppress the leak.
You know when someone is confident enough to cut a massive hole into their exhaust just to show you those options work, then those things really work haha. Awesome video Chris! Keep it up and can’t wait til the next one!
Great video--A knowledgeable person who is a great teacher and who can explain how we can fix a problem and save $. (The dealership wanted $340 just to diagnose where the leak was coming from.) I really appreciate this video.
I used a leaf blower up the tailpipe and sealed it with some electrical tape. Applied some soapy wooder and found my leak! $20 and my afternoon got it fixed. Thanks. Probably saved me $500.
Chrisfix you are a blessing from Heaven you just bought your friend a car out of nowhere cuz they desperately need a car and you're fixing it for them you are a blessing from heaven
@@68camarorsss33 68CamaroRS/SS doesn't he address every reason he has a different car though? Like if he got one just to destroy he would say "I bought* this just to destroy it" nothing wrong at all he only casually said it for a brief second
68CamaroRS/SS people are very into his videos and follow everything he does, they will ask where the new car came from regardless. He mentioned it in once sentence and never brought it up again during the whole video
Just a note that the link in the description for the putty is to High Heat JB weld instead of the Extreme Heat JB weld that Chris uses in the video. The top label part is cut off in the video for product licensing, I'm sure but you can see in the packaging that the continuous temp for the Extreme Heat that he uses is up to 2400* F instead of 450* F that the High heat variety withstands. Get the good stuff people. Chris, you may want to update that link! Thanks for the great video. This will likely save me about $3000 in lieu of replacing driver/passenger exhaust manifolds in a 2000 100series Toyota Landcruiser. Thanks!!
This guy is so dedicated that he cut a hole into his own exhaust. His perfectly fine exhaust just to show other methods. Chris, you are absolutely amazing. Keep up this godlike work man!
Bruh, I'm just trying to figure out if my idea to put putty and tape on a hole where my manifold connects to my catalytic converter will work so you torch a big ass hole in your exhaust and now I no longer doubt myself. Your channel is a blessing.
Aw man. Your videos are really motivational. I've just watched a few of them and you make things I would've been too scared to try look really easy (as long as you follow the instructions properly). For those of us who didn't acquire any mechanical knowledge growing up, or frankly even basic DIY skills, these videos are priceless.
I love that you chose to cut a hole in your exhaust just to show us that the other methods work well too. Working on cars seems hard to do but you make it look and sound easy. You've taught me a lot about cars through your videos and i'm glad i'll know how to fix things on my future car(s).
This is an amazing video. I've found leaks on two vehicles and I have used the techniques for repair. 1. Trailblazer -> manifold leak, fixed for a year with High Temp putty 2. Super Duty -> leak around valve cover gasket and catalytic converter ... gonna try tape and of course I need a new gasket, but at least I know where they are
@David Sanchez ive done it😂 and im not rich i got a 2001 3.8 camaro they mechanic said engine and tranny were going at the same time....cats were stopped up ,needed a tuneup, couple fiberglass patches and lil bit of paint blending im 250 deep😂
@David Sanchez he tried to buy it off them i told them the truth that Id fix it for them nothing wrong with it said already replaced it let me have it for scrap price🙌
@David Sanchez I was about to say that, except the Obama part lol...normally...it takes so e common sense, ppl do it all the time,I bought, huh ..you bought???I gave u the money, you just got it for me,...well...you know what I mean, lol, yea, except it doesn't sound all that nice when the one who gave the money finds someone takes credit for paying for it,when they didn't,they just made the purchase for you lol...I mean,we could be wrong in this case, but yea...
Lukas Jacobs I’m pretty sure I remember a video where he painted his exhaust on his truck black so I think he swapped out his exhaust pipe to cut a hole into this one and swap it back right afterwards
That ban clamp will outlast the rest of the exhaust. The only way to make that better is to use red high temp silicone under that clamp, it will never leak.
As always, thank you, not just for the theory but for the confidence. It matters for people who have never done it, because it looks very complicated, but you make it look simpler and understandable.
Low key wish chris was a surgeon. "Hey its ChrisFix here and today I'm gonna show you how to perform a kidney transplant, now this patient didn't need one but I told him he did so I could prove to you guys they work, ok let's get started, so what you're gonna need is a scalpel..."
Next we will be using a torque wrench configured at 200 Lb/Ft to make sure that the aorta is nice and tight around that aortic valve. Also we need to attach the battery starter to the brain to jump start the human, or would that be a defibrillator?
Thanks for these videos, I have a 97 Taurus, just noticed an exhaust leak in the front, no smell, just loud..we will be following these instructions to find the leak. We have followed many of these videos..perfect!
Most of what I’ve learned has been from you Chris! I did a rough estimate of what I have saved my family and myself over the last 6 months, and the number was astounding! $3400... I refer you to everyone!
I fixed a major header leak today thanks to this video. I followed your directions to the letter. Now my truck doesn't sound like a jalopy. The "Extreme Heat JB Weld" worked great!! Thank you Chris! :D
My truck is so loud! I’ve been thinking about fixing it, but was discouraged because I don’t know how to weld and it just seemed like too big of a job. Now I’m running to auto parts store right now 🤣😂 I know where the leak is already so I lm going to try the tape and the metal clamp! ChrisFix is a god send 😍
Man I can't thank you enough. A couple weeks ago it was the squeaky belt and your vid helped me find a solution. And now I found three exhaust leaks using your method and I fixed them. Thanks again!
You are right, I have made many inexpensive repairs to my cars using internet (RUclips) advise, ranging from body work on my old Caddie to changing plugs and injectors on my Expedition. This has saved me more than $5k in the last two years. Now I can pass advise to friends and relatives.
Hey Chris I been watching your videos for a while now first I was binge watching because they were entertaining, but all your videos have inspired me on trying out and fixing my own car, my power steering pump pulley broke while in the highway and I thought I lost the car :( but since I have been watching your videos I say let’s give it a try, and I fixed it myself and I was so proud of myself so I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you man!! Thanks for your videos and for inspiring me 👌🏼
Another truly great instructional video. Every time I watch I try to think how it could it could be improved but usually there is literally no way to make it better. Your skills really are legendary and have inspired me to do many repairs successfully I would have otherwise not even tried. Just fantastic.
My uncle taught me to take cans and cut the ends off then down the side and wrap it over the hole in the exhaust pipe. Usually layering it with at least 3 cans then two clamps to hold it all in place. Of course it's a temporary fix until the proper repair can be done but did beat listening to a loud exhaust while saving cash.
What i love the sound that comes from that but to each his own. Im not a douche who cuts the muffler off his street car though its just taken off my bush truck sometimes and can easily be hooked back up
I got a cheap harbor freight welder and its great for stuff like this. Obviously my welds suck compared to a professional job, but they work, hold and keep the system in check. Plus, you're learning a valuable skill on a part that is relatively easy to fix.
Great video, brother! It's awesome that you showed us 3 different videos showing us potential fixes. Side note: The video quality and cinematography over the years have been greatly improved, and it's noticable. Great content... Please keep it up. Your videos have really helped. Double side note: I think it's pretty awesome that you actually put a significant hole in your own perfectly good exhaust, just for this video. Props... That's dedication at it's finest!
Chris i just wanted to say you give me the confidence I need to keep going and not be afraid to take big steps in my career as a mechanic! I might just be starting but i definitely have put in work into cars and all thanks to you! I cannot wait to finish school and go to UTI to become a certified technician and follow my dreams helping others out at the same time just like you, thank you
pretty fly for a wifi Yeah but half his fans do. If videos like these help even one person save money then its a win for them. I know because chris has helped me save a lot of money on work that are really easy. Don't know why people hate on him, his methods work and that is more than reason to follow his methods. I would rather do something that I know was done right than have someone else do it only for it to break down a few weeks later. I have been there.
Tysm, Chris! I've been watching for about three years now, and I've been taking advice from multiple automotive YT Channels, but once I discovered the ChrisFix Channel, well... Its definitely the best out of all. Cars have been my thing since the age of four/five, because my dad had a 1999 Honda Accord EX V6 that was pretty much a death-trap, and was on its way out. He worked on it a lot, and one day I asked him if I could help him when I got older, and he said "Maybe" but that never happened, because in December 2016 he passed away from a brain-tumor, and at the time I was so young, that I had to ask what "Passed away" meant. Once it kicked in I had a different outlook on life, and suffered from depression, which landed me in therapy. So from there-on-out I have been determined to become the best that I can be, because sometimes I feel like I don't want to exist, but I have to remember that I'm doing this for him. Now I'm 13 years-old, with an IQ of 121, and all I want to say is Thank you to (most importantly) my dad, and also all the others that are (or were) in my life.

Chrisfix you are a blessing from Heaven you just bought your friend a car out of nowhere cuz they desperately need a car and you're fixing it for them you are a blessing from heaven
Thank you! I try to help when I can!
Lisea Coe I wish we had more people like him
Lisea Coe If your comment were true then he wouldn’t make a video saying how he bought it for a friend...he wouldn’t even address it
@@68camarorsss33 68CamaroRS/SS doesn't he address every reason he has a different car though?

Thanks a lot!!!
You know it’s a good day when ChrisFix uploads

Just did the soapy water and leaf blower method. Found my leak in a jiffy. Thanks Chris fix 🤝
Cutting a hole in a perfectly good exhaust just to prove a method works.... This man is amazing.
He litterally had the best camera angles so we can see and under stand everything
I always do my best to show you guys everything as clearly as possible!
@@chrisfix i appreciate it, fam
I love you!!!
Your enthusiasm is infectious someday ill buy a car and repair it myself
Awesome! That’s the goal!
Bruh, I'm just trying to figure out if my idea to put putty and tape on a hole where my manifold connects to my catalytic converter will work so you torch a big ass hole in your exhaust and now I no longer doubt myself. Your channel is a blessing.
imagine selling the car on and seeing Chris make this video and think “It’s that easy?!??” heartbreaking stuff 😂
Well he bought it for his friend, so in the end everyone still wins.
This happened literally today 😂😂 i thought it was a blown head gasket but I was told it was just an exhaust leak
Hhhhhhhhh I will need some back him making RUclips money the car he sold me hhhhhhh
I don’t even have an exhaust leak, I just love watching these videos! Great job as always Chris!!!
Thanks
Traxxas Driver Pro 101 lol yeah...makes me wanna destroy my exhaust so i can fix it again😂😂😂
Aw man. Your videos are really motivational. I've just watched a few of them and you make things I would've been too scared to try look really easy (as long as you follow the instructions properly). For those of us who didn't acquire any mechanical knowledge growing up, or frankly even basic DIY skills, these videos are priceless.
Please never stop making videos this is literally all I watch on RUclips anymore lol
Thanks a lot!!!

You ARE The TRUTH!! I've watched a ton of your videos to fix not only my car but others as well. And I'm NO Mechanic!!
ME2,
Not many cars, of others though.
I love that you chose to cut a hole in your exhaust just to show us that the other methods work well too. Working on cars seems hard to do but you make it look and sound easy. You've taught me a lot about cars through your videos and i'm glad i'll know how to fix things on my future car(s).
Thanks James! It is all really easy! Just need the know how and confidence to try it yourself!
Mad props for actually cutting a hole in your exhaust just to test the products! Also, I love the camera transitions when going under the car!
That camera transition when checking under the car tho was lit
This is an amazing video. I've found leaks on two vehicles and I have used the techniques for repair.
1. Trailblazer -> manifold leak, fixed for a year with High Temp putty

🤦♂️ Jesus why would he want his friend to wreck curvy roads everywhere
I love it when Chris gets happy and excited after a successful fix/project
He just destroyd his exhaust for us. Youre the best.
Lukas Jacobs I’m pretty sure I remember a video where he painted his exhaust on his truck black so I think he swapped out his exhaust pipe to cut a hole into this one and swap it back right afterwards
I like to prove stuff works so this is the best way I could think of!
That ban clamp will outlast the rest of the exhaust. The only way to make that better is to use red high temp silicone under that clamp, it will never leak.
Not destroyed at all.
As always, thank you, not just for the theory but for the confidence. It matters for people who have never done it, because it looks very complicated, but you make it look simpler and understandable.
Wooder...lol never gets old.
GREAT JOB Chris!! Only you could make a video fixing an exhaust leak exciting to watch!
Thanks a lot!

There will be the time when ChrisFix teaches us on how to install a turbocharger.
Someday he'll teach us how to build a car from scratch.
id rather have him show us how to install a supercharger lol

I fixed a major header leak today thanks to this video. I followed your directions to the letter. Now my truck doesn't sound like a jalopy. The "Extreme Heat JB Weld" worked great!! Thank you Chris! :D
My truck is so loud! I’ve been thinking about fixing it, but was discouraged because I don’t know how to weld and it just seemed like too big of a job. Now I’m running to auto parts store right now 🤣😂 I know where the leak is already so I lm going to try the tape and the metal clamp! ChrisFix is a god send 😍

Yeah all exhaust work is this simple.
Not everyone wants to fix their own car.
Yeah woh
trust me, most mechanics don't want those shitty exhaust jobs.
@@MrFreeze79 If you work at a muffler shop (like Meineke and Midas), and if you want work you will.
Man I can't thank you enough. A couple weeks ago it was the squeaky belt and your vid helped me find a solution. And now I found three exhaust leaks using your method and I fixed them. Thanks again!
I still can't believe how awesome internet is...having such good advice available and free. Thanks a lot for the gold Chris
You are right, I have made many inexpensive repairs to my cars using internet (RUclips) advise, ranging from body work on my old Caddie to changing plugs and injectors on my Expedition. This has saved me more than $5k in the last two years. Now I can pass advise to friends and relatives.
It’s cool to see Chris helping out not his friends, but people around the world!
This was a double win! I got a car for my friend who needed it badly and showed the world how to fix their exhaust leaks for $10
Hey Chris I been watching your videos for a while now first I was binge watching because they were entertaining, but all your videos have inspired me on trying out and fixing my own car, my power steering pump pulley broke while in the highway and I thought I lost the car :( but since I have been watching your videos I say let’s give it a try, and I fixed it myself and I was so proud of myself so I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you man!! Thanks for your videos and for inspiring me 👌🏼
Nice work Stephan! I bet that felt amazing! You should be proud and I’m glad the videos are helpful!!!
A step in a real man sir props
Chris Epps thank you sir!
Yes sir good luck on your endeavors.
I really enjoy how he explains everything in detail! I absolutely enjoying watching his videos! Thanks Chris
Another truly great instructional video. Every time I watch I try to think how it could it could be improved but usually there is literally no way to make it better. Your skills really are legendary and have inspired me to do many repairs successfully I would have otherwise not even tried.
Just fantastic.
Thanks a lot! I work hard to make sure every video is as good as it can get!
Awesome tip! Thanks for sharing.
What i love the sound that comes from that but to each his own. Im not a douche who cuts the muffler off his street car though its just taken off my bush truck sometimes and can easily be hooked back up
P77777777 lol well this way back when I had a Pontiac 6000. Sounded like a rattle can in the drive way because of the hole 😂
He bought his friend a car. Great guy. & fixed it!!!!
I got a cheap harbor freight welder and its great for stuff like this. Obviously my welds suck compared to a professional job, but they work, hold and keep the system in check. Plus, you're learning a valuable skill on a part that is relatively easy to fix.

pretty fly for a wifi 3.7 million people don’t seem to think it’s bullshit......
pretty fly for a wifi If they’re bullshit, then why do they all seem to work?
pretty fly for a wifi Yeah but half his fans do.
Wow this is actual dedication, making a giant gap in the exhaust just to prove that it works!
My main goal is to teach you guys and show how stuff works so I wanted to give you an idea of how it works!
You make everything so understandable and simple. I used to get overwhelmed doing anything on my car until I watched your videos
Awesome! The goal is to show how easy it is to fix cars!
That use of air pressure/vacuum is just brilliant.
