- Video tutorial of how the programming works on this 3 device One For All Streaming Universal remote. Using the learning / teaching ability you can program this remote to virtually any device! The remote is mainly geared for audio, tv and streaming. In this example, I'm using a URC 7935 remote. If you don't have the manual, you can follow this link:

I have an OFA remote that I haven't used in almost 2 years because it couldn't turn off my soundbar AND NOW IT DOES! Thank you so much for making this video!

Thank you so much sir!!! I was in here over an HOUR trying to get my remote to work again & the end of your video was such a stress reducer 😭
If I can reduce someones stress that makes my day! You're welcome and thanks for the great feedback. 🙂
You're awelsome I'm not trying to be a dick but kinda hard to read the brands in the beginning but still helped me and thanks. "Obi Wan Controllers"
Thank you so much!! This helped me out a ton..there is no way I could have figured out how to set it up without watching this video!
That's excellent! You're welcome..
You sir are a LIFESAVER!! LETS GIVE THIS MAN A ROUND OF APPLAUSE 👏

I bought this remote almost two years ago and couldn’t get it to work. Found it while moving. You are my hero
Awesome! So glad I could help.. 😀
Helped a lot better then the manual and any other video THANK YOU 💯
Glad it helped! You're welcome and thanks for the great feedback.. 🙂
You have better instructions than the manual! Thank you so much for your help!
Wow! Awesome.. You're welcome😀
this helped me so much, I was kind of frustrated that the remote was missing the power button for sound bars since mine turns off automatically. I saw something in the documentation about a learning mode but I wasn't sure what it was about. You showed this perfectly and really helped me get the most out of my money for this remote.
I know... why didn't they give a button for the audio. I could never understand that.. but yes, I'm glad you got yours going... :-)
thanks for the help and tips, i set up the remote so quick following your steps 💪💯👌

Perfect! Glad you got it working... 😀. I didn't know this would run a fireplace...!
This guide really helped. Thanks.
Excellent.. Glad it helped! You're welcome. 🙂
This is great. The numeric method to setup my Sony and Apple TV worked perfectly. Somehow I messed up my remote and it had my Apple TV caught in some kind of horrible iTunes play state of an untitled song. I could not locate any of my Apple TV remotes and had lost the manual or misplaced it. I actually bought another all in one remote because it’s great as a larger remote for the Apple TV which is difficult to lose thank God due to its size. But the instructions helped me very little and I could not figure them out. This helped me and I actually did a factory reset and then the code method to fix this up for my living room Sony tv and Apple TV.
Awesome.. glad I was able to help..
Thankyou for this video, even if I don't like the remote. It was very very helpful! You explain stuff well!

Thanks for the tips and showing how to work the remote to my TV, I just need figure out how to get my Netflix, ect codes to work.
Glad I could help.. On this remote, you'll probably need your original remote to make the Netflix buttons work..😊
Take a Bath Productions what if you don’t have the original remote and that’s why you bought this remote to work the functions?
@@paulsoliz818 If you're trying to program the shortcut buttons at the bottom those buttons are set to control a Roku device. I don't believe they work the functions on your smart tv. If you don't have the original remote, or another remote that works like the original then you won't be able to program in the functions.
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
I appreciate this video I have a few questions though. I have a roku Hinsense tv and I've used every code in the pamphlet but I can only get the sound, power on/off to work. How do I program the netflix/hulu buttons and the buttons to change channels and navigate? I can't find an answer anywhere. My other remote is totally broken and I'm unsure how to get any other button to work. I used the codes with the 2 buttons on the top left am I doing something wrong?
Those Netflix/Hulu buttons are programmed for Roku, not the TV, but the tabletop device. I know you said your other remote is broken, but you're going to need it to get these working. You have to use it to teach in any missing functions.. this goes for your change channels/navigate buttons as well, since you've already tried all the codes.
@@JLPicard440 In the Setup Pamphlet under section D, is the directions for setting up Roku Tv's. When you use this section the discrete app buttons like Netflix are programmed in for Roku tv's. I have used for TCL, Insignia, and Hisense Roku tv's. Even though the Tcl and Insignia roku tv's respond to the same code set, when you use the instructions for TCL, the discrete app match whats written on the key. Doing the Insignia directions, the netflix and Hulu are right, but Vudu takes you to Slingtv, and the RUclips key sends you to Google Play.
thank you so much
You’re welcome 😊😊
Great video but I'm struggling here. Is there a way to set up profiles? If I 'learn' the direction buttons for my TV on the remote then go into Roku, the directional buttons no longer work but they do on the TV and if I reset the remote then they work on Roku but not the TV. I'd like to be able to switch profiles from Roku to TV. I mean basic things like volume, mute etc work but as soon as I teach it extra stuff for the TV, those buttons then no longer function on Roku? Can it actually assign profiles or am I just not doing it right. I thought the ring colour would be a profile indicator.
This remote does that. Some buttons will work for TV, some for Streaming and some for audio. It's the way it's made. You can put the remote in CEC mode and it'll alleviate some of what you're talking about there... The directional arrows should work the ROku if the roku was the last thing you were using though... so that's strange..
Thank you for the link and the video was very helpful.
Excellent! I'm glad it helped... :-)
Thank you, I bought one of these remotes from Wal-Mart to open it up and find that it was a returned device and whoever returned it only left the Spanish instructions in it. On a positive note, they left their batteries in it...
Great! I hope they were a name brand battery! You're welcome... :-)
Jason Rose Wow me too today 😂
It worked thank you

My mom has a Hisense Roku based TV and it worked right out of the box. We lost the original remote so we couldn't reprogram any buttons for any other services such as Amazon. Netflix worked fine as well.
Unfortunately, you'll probably need the original remote to make those functions work.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Any time!
Amazing video thank you! I finally got it to work for my TCL Roku streaming TV except I don't have a soundbar and no matter how many times I reset the remote the volume up and down buttons do not control the TCL TV sound. Any ideas?
Do you have your original TV remote? You can program the volume buttons to work with the original remotes volume buttons..
@@JLPicard440 unfortunately no. I read up on that. I bought this as a stand in. Might end up just buying a Roku remote I just don't want to get the wrong one 😂 your video was great though! Thanks for the reply!

I have a insignia TV, I was able to setup everything except for the buttons to change the channel, any way I can set up? Can I teach it with a control that is not the original?
Yes, if you have another remote that works the functions that you need, even if it's not the original, you can use that to teach your OFA remote those missing functions.
The amazon fire tv cube comes with an IR extender cable so would that allow the one for all streamer romote to control the fire tv cube?
NO, from what I understand the IR extender that comes with it, is not a IR receiver, but a IR transmitter so that you can control other compatible devices thru the Amazon factory remote. You should be able to control the fire tv cube thru HDMI-CEC. I've recently done a video on that. See if this helps: ruclips.net/video/MndLcR5FfT4/видео.html
I used one power side for the tv and one for the sound bar
Yes that's the way I did it...
Hi, absolutely couldn't have worked this darn thing without your video and I am not even tech dumb lol! So thank you so so very much! I do have a question though. How do you switch from one device to another on the remote. Like i was following your video and did the learning so that I could turn the sound bar off and on so now it is set to do that but now I want to control my tv volume so how do I get back to that on the remote?? Thanks for any and all help.
I appreciate the great feedback. You're welcome.. Unfortunately I don't think there's an easy way to switch the volume back and fourth between the TV and the audio device...
Checked the list for supported brands and I’m surprised Walmart’s onn. brand isn’t supported, especially since I found this remote at Walmart. My sound bar is onn.
Also, wish my projector was supported (Wimius). This is what happens when you do a home theatre on a budget.
If you have the original remotes you can use the original remote to program in any missing functions. I just checked the code list and you're right, there's no Onn listed under soundbar. There is Onn listed under TV. I didn't see Wimius under TV...
Great video but my problem is that I don’t have a working remote currently so I can’t make them talk. What is the process if the old remote is broken?
HI. You can't program a code in it? As far as teaching from one remote to another, you need a working remote or it won't work.
I have factory reset my remote and re-paired it back to my tv but it still won't change the channels on Live TV (antenna) and the directional pad buttons only work in a certain menu. They won't change the channels. But the volume and mute buttons work perfectly.
You can also use another remote, preferably the factory remote to teach the OFA remote anything that is missing. I know there's a channel up/ down button, but here's an excerpt from the manual that indicates it doesn't work in TV mode.
"If you set up a TV, the Volume Up, Down, Mute, TV Power and TV Input keys will then control your TV. The menu ring will light up in yellow to show you are controlling the TV."
So the question is, when you press the channel up/down buttons is it lighting up in yellow?
Lost my remote a long time ago and as a smart tv, having the home/menu button not working is extremely disappointing. I have a sony xbr55x900e. I tried everything and the menu button still doesnt work but the power button and volume buttons work. I can get the stupid apps for my phone so I can use the menu but it is very slow and I dislike it. Im not sure if I can program the buttons using my phone or not. Any other advice to get the menu button working will be great
Sorry to hear that. If You've tried all the codes in the list and it still doesn't work, unfortunately I think the only other way is to use the original remote to program the missing features. I don't think the phone will work because it's sending out a signal via wifi (most likely) and this OFA remote will only accept IR signals. U might be able to get a replacement remote from Ebay pretty cheap would be a idea.
I really needed to know how to set up my you tube, amazon & netflix buttons
Those will only work with a streaming device like a roku or something like that. But I believe they can be re-programmed to work with your smart TV functions if you have the original TV remote you can use that to teach this one and put commands on those buttons. I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
Take a Bath Productions
I need this as well
@@gabygarcia9895 If you read my previous comment, you can reprogram the buttons to work with your TVs smart functions, but you'll need to teach it using your original remote.

Just to confirm bc I've been hearing mix reviews about the remote not working within the tv apps. I own the Hisense H9g. I stlll have the original remote. With that said, will I be able to program everything I need on this remote to make it work within my tv apps like netflix, RUclips, etc.?
Yes you should be able to teach the OFA remote those short cuts with your original remote... I would use the Netflix, RUclips, etc buttons at the bottom since those are preprogrammed from OFA for your Roku. Which never did make sense to me..
I have a smart philips tv and the remote works but how do i get the hulu & Netflix buttons too work with my tv
You have to use your original remote to teach the OFA remote those functions.

How do you set up a Vizio tv?
It should be the same as the sony, except with the vizio codes. There's some still pictures of the quick codes, and vizio should be one of them, or I should have left a link in the description for all the codes.
I have a old Vizio sound bar with a subwoofer I bought at a garage sale but didn't come with a remote...the manual says a universal remote would work but it was saying something about channel up and down to control the subwoofer volume..would this remote work for that since it doesn't show channel button's?
My first guess is no it won't work. That is unless u have the original remote to teach in those individual commands.. The remote is going to control just basic things like volume, mute and power on/off. Is there a way you can control the sub volume from the sound bar directly? If so you can set it and leave it.. if not, you might have to get a factory remote..
I don't see how to get the D pad to actually work so I can move around on my lg C1 TV. It just powers off and on, volume works and mute works, but that's kind of pointless, I need the D pad to move around to different apps. Any help would be great. Thank you very much.
I'm not sure what a D pad is? You probably mean the directional arrows. Have you tried all available codes for LG? Do you have your original remote? You can teach the OFA remote any functions that are missing..
Same Issue With LG TV. Channels refuse to work. power volume input all good. Not able to change channels
See other comment.
Are all the buttons programmable? I'd like to assign the 4 buttons at the bottom to different inputs of my A/V receiver. Or the volume buttons to the volume of the receiver, not the TV...
Not all, but most of them are. I don't remember which ones are not. I do believe the ones at the bottom are certainly programmable...
Thank you very much that video was very informative.
You are welcome! So glad I could help.. 😊
I just bought my OFA URC 7935 to control my Samsung 55 Smart TV and Bose soundbar. I can power on the tv,w which defaults to the OTA channels but I can't change them. I can also, through the source button, select an app, such as youtuvetv, but then I can't move the cursor in any direction. Am I missing something here? I was successful with the programming for volume on my Bose soundbar.
Sorry I didn't see your comment until now... The remote could be in CEC mode keeping it from moving the cursor. It's default streaming device is Roku I believe. If the color of the light ring changes to purple ( I think ) when operating the directional keys, then I'm pretty sure it's trying to move the cursor on a Roku device..
How can I set up my remote to a Samsung smart TV???
Thanks!
Welcome!
hey !! I have a tcl smart tv and I got this remote connected but only the power button and tv input is working. The volume buttons, the menu button and the left/right, up/down buttons (basically the rest of the buttons) aren’t working and I don’t have the original remote. Please help ! Thank you !
HI, if you've tried all the available codes, then the only other thing you can do is if you have another universal remote that does work the rest of the functions, you can use that to program the OFA remote. But yea, you'll probably need the original remote to fix the missing functions.
This helped a lot!
I do have a funny question:
When I set everything up (my tv, Xbox, and then sound bar), my volume up button on the OFA remote kept turning off my klipsch sound bar. I went back and factory reset my remote, made sure it wasn’t connected to anything, but it still kept turning my sound bar off when I hit the up button on the remote.. I got everything reconnected but for some reason I can’t hit up without it messing up my sound bar.. you know why it’s doing this??
I've never heard of this. Did you try other codes for the sound bar? If that doesn't work, do you have the original remote to the sound bar? If so, you could teach the volume up and down buttons to the OFA as a workaround..
Take a Bath Productions I did try the different codes.. but the funny thing is, it did this before I even had my sound bar connected to the AFO remote.
Contrarily, you’re trick DID work! When I programmed the up button to instead turn the volume up (and down button to volume down) it worked just fine!
The only problem with that is, I can’t move up or down when navigating on my steamer box.
Your* trick*
Arrgh.. that's a complication I didn't anticipate.. I thought there would be a way to program the volume buttons alone... what if you reset the remote.. program your TV and Xbox with codes... then program the sound bar by teaching all the buttons leaving the round directional buttons alone so you can navigate the TV/xbox.. then programming in the volume buttons, mute and power button by teaching the commands to your sound bar?...
I’ve tried all the Samsung codes, but cannot get anything other than power and input to work. Volume lights up green, whereas power & input are yellow. I don’t have a sound bar or other device so I’m not sure what the green light indicates it’s connected to.
Also, can it learn from a different remote than what goes with the tv? Bought this because my dog ate the original, but I’m wondering if I can use the remote from a different tv for learning.
Yes it can learn from another remote that's already programmed to your TV. If I'm not mistaken the volume lighting up green might indicate that the volume is programmed to a soundbar... U could try a factory reset and start from scratch... if you don't have the manual it came with, you can view it on the oneforall website. Let me know if there's more questions...
Thx I was setting this up for my Xbox as I just don't like using my controller when I just want to watch TV and can't find the spesifct remote just for it while it works with xbox
You're welcome...
I had to factory reset (thanks for showing how) because I can’t seem to run both Roku (works great out of the box) and AppleTV with the remote. Once I program ATV, Roku no longer works. How do you have 2 streamers run with this remote? You are terrific!
Well that's a good question! I don't believe it'll work real smooth, but can you program/teach in some buttons (like the ones at the bottom) to work either the ATV or the Roku? I don't know of a way to change the directional buttons to work with one or the other at any given time.
How do you change between "TV/Streaming device/Soundbar" for regular use not just pairing? How do you go about using it?
Normally once you have programmed a Tv, a Streaming Device, and a sound bar some of the buttons operate those devices by default. For example, the volume buttons operate the sound bar automatically. The input button knows to operate the TV and so on..
@@JLPicard440 I see.. so the power buttons can only affect one specific device? Because I only see two "power" buttons? What's the situation with those? Do you need to have one power button for each device? Can they also learn their functionality?
How do I program the macro to get the app shortcut buttons to work.
That's a bit to complicated to explain over a message like this. If you look at the manual, it shows the procedure in there. If you don't have it, there's either a link in the description for the manual, or you can google the manual for that remote and it'll come up.
Would this work with a Pioneer Kuro TV (RF) and an Apple TV? Question 2: does this remote have bluetooth?
Hi, no it doesn't have bluetooth. It will work on Apple TV, but the TV, I don't know. I you have the original remote, you should be able to teach the commands from the original to the OFA remote. If it doesn't work that is.
pat on the back, jack 👍🏼
Yes thank u!
Hi! This tutorial was a huge help but I have a question, So I’m using this controller to replace my missing controller for my tv, I have other working controllers just not for the same tv model, do I need to have the correct controller for the tv model I’m currently using? Or can I use another controller for a different tv that is also working? Because half of the buttons I would need for the tv don’t work and I’ve been trying to make it learn buttons but it doesn’t seem to work, any help?
Yes, if you tried those "other" controllers on the TV in question and those "other" controllers aren't working on that TV directly, then they aren't going to work if you try to teach the "one for all" either. So my question is, do those "other" controllers work on the TV in question if being used directly?
@@JLPicard440 no they don’t, the reason for the “one for all” was to have an actual controller that works for my tv 😭 thank you for clarifying tho
@@ithzelmelgarejo5381 Arrgh.. yes unfortunately you'll need the original remote to program any functions that don't work. Did you try all the available codes for your brand TV? Maybe a different code will work better..
So in the tc setup photo instructions it dosen't show roku so should i return it or can i fix that?
Im sorry I don't understand the question? Do you mean TV? Not TC? A Roku TV is a smart TV. If the brand is not listed in the code list, you'll have to use your original remote to teach the OFA remote the commands you need. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking..
Does this work for all one for all remotes or only this one. I have a one for all universal remote I can’t find out how to connect it to my roku tv. Only the input button works. Maby your video will help idk tho you have a different model as me :(

I have a Roku enabled RCA TV (built in) and an LG soundbar connected via optical I wanna control
Whats the red power button do normally?
HI. I don't remember what it's default function was, I just remember it wasn't for the sound bar. I had to use my original sound bar remote to teach the one for all to power on/off using the red power button...
Can you recommend a remote that will control my firestick and roku?
This should work on Roku as long as the roku is out in the open so the remote has direct view of it. .. The firestick is a different problem, it works on RF instead of IR. I haven't come across a universal remote that has RF. If you do let me know, I'll try to do a video on it.
@@danielcee3 It must have a rf transmitter in it. The firestick goes behind the TV, so IR isn't a good choice for it.
@@JLPicard440 Inteset sells combo that includes universal remote and two cables. One cable is a Y-cable it allows you to power the Firestick and at the same time give you access to usb port. Any missing features have to be programmed in using the original remote via learning. If you don't have the original remote, then that's a problem. I don't know of any other way to correct this.
I’ve gotten this remote to connect to the TV, the power button and source buttons work, but I cannot get it to change the channel for my antenna. Any ideas?
Hmmm.. did you try all the codes for your TV? When you push a TV function, like menu. Does the light ring light a certain color? Then when you push channel up or down is it the same color as menu? if it's a different color, that would indicate it's trying to operate a different device (I think, if I remember right). You might need your original remote to program/ teach the channel buttons if you can't get them working..
How do I get the option button and the left/right up/down buttons to work?
If you tried all the codes for your brand name, you'll need the original remote to teach in the missing functions.
thank for this video but I am still unable to connect my NVidia shield box(2019). Using the simple setup, I get 3 red flashes when I press the corresponding button for the NVidia. If I program this for my tv and my Xbox will the directional buttons and media keys work separately for each?
You may need your original xbox remote to program it. I don't remember if there was codes for xbox on this particular remote. Is the xbox remote IR or RF? If it's RF I don't think it's going to work. I don't have an xbox so I haven't had the opportunity to play around with it.
So my OFA remote successfully paired and learned from my Vizio soundbar remote, however it refuses to cooperate with my Sony smart voice remote (RMF-TX810U). Both remotes have fresh batteries, and there's no interference. It continues to respond with 2 red lights indicating a failure to match the intended function. Would you happen to know why the Sony remote won't learn, but my Vizio remote did? Thanks!
HI, is it possible the Sony remote is a RF remote? If you hold it under a pillow does it still work? That's an easy way to tell...
Ooo interesting point. That's probably it. I will check later tonight and get back to you.@@JLPicard440
How do you get a blu ray player to connect though? That seems impossible because I've tried everything
This remote is used for a TV, an audio device, and a streaming device. It's not really made to work a DVD. You might be able to teach some of the keys to work your DVD player through the learning process and the original remote.
this is alw my go to I found myself here every single year bc I got this same remote that alw seems to reset itself when I put new batteries
I think if you replace the batteries within a few minutes it should retain the memory... Anyways thank you for coming back!
Amy help pn macros? I dont see this in the manual at all. Regarding the launcher buttons at the base.
HI... yes those can be programmed for a macro. Here's a link to the OFA site for the "app shortcuts" on this remote:

Hope that helps..
