Exact same reaction as yours to this artist I knew almost nothing about. After listening here I clicked on her 'You Sent Me Flying' accompanied only by a strummed guitar (by someone else). For heaven's sake, what a great performer she was!
I love these early performances. She looks so happy. She had a normal body, no tattoos, she looks so relaxed. In her interviews she is so bubbly, funny and charming. I remember watching these early performances when her talent was emerging, knowing she had so much to come. It was really upsetting watching her change over the coming years 😢
She had multiple tattoos, was bulimic, and used to spend all day in her flat, smoking weed. She had her issues. I never get why anyone hated her tattoos (apart from the Blake one) they suited her so well.
She was such a massive talent, most people don't realize. It wasn't just her voice. Her songwriting and general understanding of music was amazing even on her first album, which she wrote and recorded when she was still a teenager. She was also a really solid guitar player. So much potential.
"There is no artist like her." Amen brother. Well said. Amy was a one in a generation talent and we won't see the likes of her again for a very very long time. Polo you should check out 'Love is a Losing Game'.
More Amy please! She was such an influence on many singers that came after her, in particular Joss Stone. So sad that she is no longer here to grace the world with her talent. That band was not taking any prisoners either. Effortless is a very good word to describe her. You might also like Beth Hart, come to think of it. This was 🔥🔥
I would recommend you to hear Amy's duet with Tony Bennett singing 'body and soul' OR singing with Paul Weller 'don't go to strangers' ..some WOW moments for sure.
She was such a fearless, unique talent. I love her music, and I'm glad you found her. I'm ready for another reaction to her, to RTJ again, and maybe to some Childish Gambino. Love your content, brother!
We’re all troubled souls. She wasn’t more of a f-d up person than anyone else. She had an addiction problem which unfortunately played out in public. I apologize if I’m taking it wrong. I just feel like everyone feels because of how she passed like they can make pronouncements on her soul and how she was so messed up but aren’t we all? You may not do drugs but I’m sure you have problems she didn’t. 🤷🏽♀️ Same with me. We just keep going and try to get through this called life.
Amy was not only in a league of her own, her unique voice insticntly recognizable and let's not forget she was an incredible song writer too. I miss her so much.
Polo, you are so right when you said no one like her. The beautiful sound of the band her voice over power. I usually hear the music and not the soloist. With Amy I hear the lyrics. Great voice gone.
I remember being about 14-15 and going through my uncles records and listening to the album Frank on his stereo through headphones and listening through it in one sat on the floor. Just mesmerising.
Hooked on Amy Winehouse on 1st video I watched-Wake Up Alone @ Glastonbury 07. I will always miss her and I still watch her videos or listen to her CDs on a daily or weekly basis. No need to repeat the praises and adorations describing her one of a kind vocal ability and her loving, warm personality. I just wanted to say that this particular video is one of my top 3 live performances of her. I think she was still 19 when she did this song and I have never seen or heard someone so young perform with such raw talent, blatant gifted voice, and mesmerizing stage presence. I love this video so much because it shows someone who is special and obviously destined for greatness.
She is my favorite artist. She never performed a song the same way twice and she had the purest relationship to music. Just truly an amazing performer, especially live.
She was, is and always will be a legend. She can’t be duplicated and I love watching you appreciate her. Anyone in the UK that adored her feels like they lost their own family the day she left. Watching her spiral was torture and she was so real, so pure, so mistreated and mislead. You just want to grab her, hug her and shelter her from all the downsides of stardom. She loved what she did but she had a damaged heart with a tortured mind and needed many things she never received. Patience and time to breathe being just two. If you know you know and If you don’t know you 100% never will. Loved everything she brought to the world. Just a tiny insight into just how much she’s loved and adored and was at the time…an absolute real gem she was, is and always will be
Remember hearing this and went out next day and got the Frank cd. She was then promoting it at a HMV, just her and an acoustic...asked peope at work who wanted to go..their reaction was " amy who? ".....their loss. In front of about 20 people she absolutely killed it !
She was something else as you say unique. Oddly enough it was a cover of the zootons track "Valerie" she made in the BBC lounge (artists cover songs for fun) which became my favourite and caught the imagination when she did a stripped back acoustic version too.
was it lady and you my lady boy or was it lazy and you my lazy boy YES .. amazing! .. and it's almost like she's just thinking and it's coming out as song rather than thinking or singing a song you wrote carefully beforehand .. does that even make sense? I agree with your wonder about her talent .. her confirmation zone .. her fabulous direct voice and matter of factness .. and her guitar playing is also amazing .. again .. brilliant but matter- of- fact .. I'm so sorry she's gone .. (]died at 27) .. how I'd love to hear her now .. almost 12 years later!
This was fantastic. She looks so healthy here. Rest in perfect peace to this angel. I am new to your channel + enjoying your reviews/experiences so much. Forgive me if you are already familiar/have reviewed but if not, I would love it if you would share your reaction to Talking Heads’ live ‘83 LA performance of « Life During Wartime. » Beyond the fact that the band is incredible, I think they are at their height for artistic performance and also touring with other beast musicians (eg Bernie Worrell/Funkadelic). It’s mind-blowing!
You got me as a new subscriber-I’ll follow anyone who exposes us to more of Amy’s music. I am obsessed with this woman, I dream about her, have dreamt of her. Let me recommend, “F Me Pumps.” From Amy Winehouse. No one has reacted to it yet.
The video of this is with the roots!!!! Great song and video, check out Baller and don't steal my weed?!?!!!! This is her earlier stuff. Great reaction!!!!
Hello again Polo ! You have the same taste as me ! This is my favorite song and performance but every song is great I can't help but laugh every time I hear "frozen turkey" I agree there is no one like her ! see Tony Bennett's appraisal
I always think that Mary J Blige should cover this but, if you haven't done it already, Amy at Dingle is her greatest live work, just her, her guitarist and bassist. Stripped back perfection.
You need to react to the Teach Me Tonight cover. It's the live version on Jools Holland. Shit, react to the I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know cover live(it might explode your mind). Dude, I could spend hours trying to give you recs. I'll just leave it at just those for now. lol.
Her 2004 “Take the Box” performance at the mercury prize rewards is an addiction for me…all her live performances are so unique from one another, none is the same. She’s a star...but it breaks my heart that her human form is gone
POLO, here's a different Amy to check out who also has an unreal/amazing voice. Amy Lee from Evanescence; here's the song "My Immortal". They have 2 versions of it, so here's a video that has both in it. Again, Thanks for all of the videos and hard work. ruclips.net/video/OFU0xuj_76E/видео.html
I completely agree with the suggestion of Amy Lee/Evanescence!! I, too, was going to mention her to Polo. Her voice is so haunting and draws you in! Her own music is fantastic, but every collab throughout the decades has always been fire!
This show was the first time I heard Amy perform, I was doing my homework at the other end of the room and thought "Wow, who's this" , expecting to see some big black American woman on my TV, not a skinny white girl from London! Such a shame that this was her peak!
As for what to listen to next to; the rest of this show! Jools Holland's 2003 performance - if I've got the date right? Either way "Frank" is so much better than "Back to black".

Oh, how young, healthy, and happy she looks! Rehab was her biggest hit. The irony is sad really. Great reaction! Amy is definitely one of a kind.
Absolutely a legendary, one of a kind artist - and she's barely 20 yrs old here...just phenomenal
She was a real artist and never sang a song the same twice... ❤️ I will always love her
She was such a massive talent, most people don't realize. It wasn't just her voice. Her songwriting and general understanding of music was amazing even on her first album, which she wrote and recorded when she was still a teenager. She was also a really solid guitar player. So much potential.
100%! I studied classical piano. Her chord progressions were so unique and her lyrics were like WTF
God I loved her, so talented another life cut way too short.
Such talent is rarely ever seen or heard.
"There is no artist like her." Amen brother. Well said. Amy was a one in a generation talent and we won't see the likes of her again for a very very long time.
Polo you should check out 'Love is a Losing Game'.
Reaction to “Valerie” is a must. Can’t wait…
More Amy please! She was such an influence on many singers that came after her, in particular Joss Stone. So sad that she is no longer here to grace the world with her talent. Thanks for recognising there are no other artists like her
Sorely missed RIP Amy 😥
The system took advantage of her and crushed her.
Eternal light shine upon her.
Phrasing like no one else.
Wow, I remember her doing this on Jools Holland. Loved her instantly.
She sang with Tony Bennett once. That was pretty good also.
The purest voice from a troubled soul. Such a loss...

Amy was not only in a league of her own, her unique voice insticntly recognizable and let's not forget she was an incredible song writer too. I miss her so much.
Thanks for this vid....I've only ever seen pictures of her all strung out and gnarly looking....never heard any of her music....wow what a voice!
Such raw talent, wish she was still in this realm with us
Polo, you are so right when you said no one like her. The beautiful sound of the band her voice over power. I usually hear the music and not the soloist. With Amy I hear the lyrics. Great voice gone.

Her voice is the best instrument in the band ..
Ever made you mean
Amy🕊
Talking about the best. Period
She´s unique. One of my favs songs.... Te extrañamos, Amy.🌹🌹
She is my favorite artist. She never performed a song the same way twice and she had the purest relationship to music. Just truly an amazing performer, especially live.
Almost to 100K my man! Started with you at 7,900. Keep it going Boss!

I love her songwriting.So honest

Funny how real music is now a novelty. RIP Amy. xxx
Bringing back memories 😭😭😭😭 🖤🖤🖤
She was something else as you say unique. Oddly enough it was a cover of the zootons track "Valerie" she made in the BBC lounge (artists cover songs for fun) which became my favourite and caught the imagination when she did a stripped back acoustic version too.
RIP dear girl> you. You are astounding.
You got her so well. She can sing that swing so slippery, sloppy well. She got soul.
Amy was phenomenal💐

The whole Frank album is great! The AOL sessions on youtube are a must listen!
you're a great sincere reactor man. Keep it up
I agree , most other reactions are so insincere and fake .
She was a diamond hidden in a pearl .
Love and miss her voice and talent. Drugs and heartbreak robbed her and us. If you haven't listened to Me & Mr. Jones❤️
Valerie - acoustic
Excellent song
Also, she's one of Tatiana's (Jinjer) inspirations
You have to see the Documentary on Amy Winehouse , it is amazing !!
I agree, she was amazing. She channels her art.
Her Donny Hathway covers are incredibly soulful. We’re still friends and I love you more than you’ll ever know
Your comments are so sweet towards her, thank you. It’s much appreciated. ❤
A flame that burns twice as bright only burns half as long. This girl burned very bright.
Yes was 1 of a kind poor Amy RIP

Rest In Peace... hope you are free at last...
This is the first song I ever heard by her forever ago.
React to "Valarie" acoustic performance by her next!
All of that was great, but that bass player was putting down a superior bass line.
