If you want to listen to a full album of hers, Back To Black is the way to go. Mark Ronson produced the album and brought new life to her lyrics. Dream team
Absolutely. I have listened to this in repeat for years. Would definitely be my Desert Island 🏝️ Disc.
I prefer "Frank" album its for me a masterpiece
she was just an AMAZING talent... it's so sad she was so young , misdirected and screwed up because she had it all... incredible talent that barely was getting started when she snuffed her wild fluttering flame out... this is not even a favirite version of this song, but it shows her talent and capability
I love her song, “ Love is a losing game “ what a great singer! Rest in Peace Amy! 🙏
Sadly, I didn't discover her music until after she has passed. Amy was the very definition of a generational talent.
She was a phenomenon. The first time I heard her voice on the radio I was ironing in a different room. Immediately had to go and find out what was happening.
My heart breaks everytime i listen to her. R.I.P baby girl. Gone too soon. ❤
Watch a documentary on her. She was a sweet girl who was drowned in fame.
Apparently she never coped with stage performances.
She deserves all our sympathy.
Amy Winehouse, Eva Cassidy, and Karen Carpenter, each heart wrenchingly sublime and taken sway in their prime.
Amy was literally a once in a lifetime kind of artist. Raw, authentic, laid out every one of her shortcomings for everyone to see and did it with absolutely mind blowing music.
Polo, you just listened to one of the great jazz singers of this era. What a tragic loss.
Polo, I would love to see you react to Joss Stone. She's an amazing soul singer with many great videos and live performances. I think that she is someone who you'll really enjoy. Peace bro!!
Joss stone, is a great too!!
Yes!! Joss Stone is amazing.... her little cooking show was amusing as well. funny but what a jazz voice
Never heard this tune before. Thanks for expanding my Amy W. experience. I don't know about you, but every time I hear her sing my heart hurts for what could have been.
One of the best things yo come out of my country is this phenomenal person what a singer, what a word Smith, she also had a lot of humour and wit in her interviews she was just amazing
A proper national treasure
Love you amy
Rest well ❤️🩹❤💔
you must hear her "Frank" album, its my fav its a masterpiece and man she made that album at 18, at 18!!!!!
she had a very old soul
I could listen to her album Back to Black everyday for the rest of my life
She was a wonderful young singer.
One of the tragic "27 club" ...😢
This was an acoustic version, but she also performed this with full band both live and album and are possibly the better versions of this.. she can literally sing almost anything.. PHENOMENAL and such a tragic loss and waste of talent. Can't help get that pang of loss in my stomach (for want of a better term) when I hear her songs, it's always bitter sweet.. ❤️💔
You should DEFINITELY check out her specific TV appearance/performance/Duets on the "Jools Holland's Hootenanny" new years even show from I think 2006, she duets with Paul Weller (a living legend in England) and also with Jools Holland (also a living legend!) Those performance of "Heard it through the Grapevine", "Don't go to Strangers" and one or two others are just some of the BEST LIVE MUSIC/TUNES you will EVER HEAR! I GET CHILLS start to finish whenever I watch those performances/that appearance!
Cheers from London 🏴🇬🇧
I saw the Jools Holland show and you're right, Amy was fantastic. What a great loss.
Amy has so many fantastic performances, but sometimes the results are disappointing. I don't know if it was drugs or boredom or depression, but Amy was not always on the top of her game. If you stumble across a live version of a song you don't care for, keep looking. You're bound to eventually find Amy at the top of her game, and you'll experience a masterpiece.
I Don't know a lot of her music, but I know she is an artist that amazes you when her mouth opens.
Great jazz singer! RIP
She breaks my heart ❤
R.I.P. sweet Amy 💔 Her whole 'Dingle' set is amazing - only the best artists are invited to perform there - she didn't disappoint & we in Ireland were blessed to have Amy sing for us. She had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing VOICE and you have a LEGENDARY, ONCE IN A LIFETIME ARTIST!
I'll never forget the day she died...I adored her.. ...'Back to Black' literally rescued me from a dark depression - I played the album on repeat....I just wish someone had rescued HER🖤
Rehab is an amazing song, among many others. Troubled life, lots of pain that caused her passing, but a wonderful artist

No autotune. Just a phenomenal voice. A phenomenal expression and stylistic interpretation all of her own. Love her.
concert usually don't have better sound than your speakers at home. some do, most don't. but it's not the quality of sound you go to a concert for. It's the atmosphere, the unique performance, the shared experience. I haven't been to one myself in a long time, but I'm gonna go and see a band I've really fallen in love with over the last couple years live next week and I'm gonna ride 5 hours on a train to see them in a small club in some backwards ass country village.. and I'm SO looking forward to it.
so what I'm trying to say is: go and see some live bands. it's beautiful.
Love is a losing game.
Thank me later.
One of the best songs written and performed by a female artist PERIOD.
She's so unique.
I’m living vicariously thru you rn!! But I feel the same no matter how many times I listen. Amy was 1 of 1.
Thanks for sharing it w us!x
It’s almost as if she is channeling the souls of passed jazz and blues singers. 6:17
For years and years, there was a show on Classical Radio Stations called "Desert Island Discs. Politicians, sports figures, authors, chefs, basically newsmakers of the time, would be asked to come up with several songs that they could take with them if they were stranded alone on an island. There was always a short interview with them about why they chose why they chose. It was fascinating. Because, as you said, thinking of myself as being rather humble flew out the window when I discovered people I thought were overrated, and general AHs, picked absolutely stunning music I had never heard. So much so that I had to look at those people with new eyes. A week ago, I turned 70 and have been studying, performing and listening to music for 61 of those years. Still, there is a never-ending tidal wave of new music and music performers as well as older ones I simply never knew about. This is the joy (and some frustration) of watching music reactions. I enjoy yours because you are open to finding out what you don't know. That is a humble gift indeed.
This video is from a gig she did in 2006 on the west coast of Ireland in a church at a town called Dingle in Co Kerry... arrived with just two guitarists & herself... MAGIC!
Amy Winehouse, Jannis Joplin and Billy Holiday. The best
to talented for this world
So completely with you with the chills! The musical runs she creates on the spot are just incredible. Thanks for sharing, Polo. 🕊
Thanks for inspiring me to listen with new ears to NEW music! I’m old and I’ve heard many you review, but I’m shamed to say I’ve not even bothered with many “young” performers/singers/musicians/songwriters in my arrogance. My “era” wasn’t just the best of my time, it was an incubator for future creations!
Amy 😇🥰
Frank is the BEST thing you'll ever listen to!!!!🧡❤💝❤🧡💛💙🙌🙌🙌
Thank you Amy for the gift you gave us and our future generations .. I hope your at peace xx
You should totally do an album review of Frank it is her best album (my personal opinion) she is so honest and purely authentic. I love and miss Amy so much❤
Wow! She is amazing!!
Love her, such a big loss.. Love Valerie.......
Hi Polo, there is a lot of live action to see regarding Amy, even in her early days she was fantastic. One of my favorite live concerts of his is 45th Night MTV. I highly recommend Love is the losing game feat Mos Def. I can't wait to see you discover it.
When I first heard her sing she sounded like Bette Midler. I never listened to Amy before.
Too bad I missed her before she passed away. I knew of her but never took the time to check her out. She makes it look so easy.
I have a live performance request..
“Alanis Morissette - Uninvited” Live.
Thanks, another great reaction. She was such a great talent, unique. 1st time hearing this live version.
My husband's favorite of her songs
Damn ... it still hurts. I so wanted to save you, just like your music saved me. But I was too late, my Birthday Girl. 😢
I felt the same way about Amy. I didn’t love her until she passed. She is one of my all time favorites
like the comparison to a sax...never thought about her that way but yea they both have that jazzy feel, with an uninhibited ability to doing runs up and down. Really she was an artist...not just a singer. Changed music.
This live version is lovely. The official video is a masterpiece though.
Lovely to watch you discover and appreciate her music . I'm excited for you to discover her catalogue, as small as it is. "Frank" is an incredible album, from her opening scat all the way through. "Amy, Amy, Amy" is one of my favourites, it's playful, but it's all good tbh. I feel very privileged to have seen her live. A tragic loss.
I know of Amy from my past employees, but this will be my first listening.
Please review Frank!!!! I honestly believe its a debut masterpiece. 'Back to black' was when she became more universally known but 'Frank' is the foundation! I'm in for a full review 👍🏿
A favorite from the B to B record...the one & only Amy Winehouse...great reaction👍
This song came out 17 years ago today. August 13, 2007
Oh shit this ain’t even the real song lmfao
She joined the 27 club 😢
You must watch the documentary" Amy" . She was an amazing talent. But her spiral down is tragic and sad of course. It's either on Netflix or Prime.
No one on her talent level except Angelina Jordan. RIP you beautiful spirit. The gods let us enjoy your talent, if only for a moment
I worked with "dual diagnosis" folks once upon a time and would see their art and music therapy sessions and sometimes the truth and rawness was too much and it would touch me so deeply and give me chills or bring me to tears. The honesty and transparency - the depth of feeling of these folks was truly touching. Amy touches me like that. Deep soul to soul music from someone who feels deeply and is open enough to be able to connect.
If I could ever chose one album in my life, it would be “Back to Black”
This is a very minimal version compared to the album! Sounds amazing
Perfect reaction 👍
It makes me sad to think that, for some, Amy's talent has been overshadowed by her chaotic personal life. Her musicality and talent are absolutely mind-blowing to me.
This is my favourite Amy Winehouse song. Miss her.
I LOVEEEEE THIS SONG!!! ❤❤❤
One of my favourite Amy songs
Please watch Amy sing I’ll love you more than you’ll ever know it’s amazing….
RIP Amy Winehouse 🖤 one of a kind
as a Brit, it would be wrong not to introduce you to RAYE, another incredible artist from the UK
Polo my friend, I’m a huge fan of Amy’s and yours. I have a special treat I feel I should turn you on to. If you type in “Rare Amy Winehouse in the studio with Tony Bennet” you’ll find a video that runs 9:51, that is one of Amy’s last performances…. It’s a vid where she and Tony meet up in a studio in London to record a duet for a upcoming duets album of his. It’s more than just the song, it’s a fascinating look into how fragile and self conscious Amy could be at times, as well as showing her true genius as a once in a lifetime Jazz vocalist! Very much worth the time to watch, as Tony is masterful in helping her work through her anxiety’s and deliver one of her (in my opinion)best performance’s. Not sure it would be great for your reaction channel, but I think you’d very much appreciate seeing it on your own. The completed song and video are also available to watch. The behind the scenes vid alway chokes me up, but it’s fantastic to watch.👌🏼👍🏼🍻
Stellar album!
I thought I was the only living person who had never heard Taylor Swift. I'd never heard Amy Winehouse either, so thanks for enlarging my world a bit.
Long time fan of Amy but confess to never hearing Taylor swift.
She's probably great. It's a generational thing. I hurt for Amy Winehouse. That sounds pretentious, but just her image hurts. God bless her.@@etmoiaussi899
He Can Only Hold Her is a great song you should give it a listen
I've never been a fan of samples, but this uses Aint No Mountain High Enough brilliantly. The video is superb.
What a talent. So sad dead at 27. Alcohol poisoning.
Hi Polo,
As I get the impression you're interested in the artists, i thought you might be interested in a BBC documentary about Amy, if you can find it. It's from the "Arena" arts programme with an episode called "The Day She Came to Dingle." Dingle is a small town on the west coast of Ireland, and they get big-name stars to perform to about 80 people in the local church! So the programme has bits of her performance ( I know you like "live"), but she also is interviewed, so you get more insights into her and her influences. I hope it's available as it needs to be seen. (If it's not, sorry for dangling this in front of you!)
One of a kind!!!
Amy Winehouse's entire catalog is brilliant... but, tragically, small.
I have been to very few concerts and the ones I go to are artists who love to entertain rather than just do their latest album the same as it was recorded. Over the years my favorites have been John Denver, Harry Chapin, Eric Clapton, Lyle Lovett, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
Saw Lyle Lovett so many times, living in Austin area .In the city, out in the boondocks, he broke our hearts so many times. And we recovered and danced a lot too!
This song reappears with full band & horns on Back to Black, which is the definitive AW album.
Keep it going!! Your taste is my taste and you amaze me, you comments are always on point. I am so glad I found you!!
Me and Mr. Jones is a another good one. Her live version is best.
Odk, one of my faves is love is blind
Más de Amy Winehouse, es la.mejor. :)
I am one of the lucky ones to have seen her live, 2007 in Amsterdam. It was great, I enjoyed the heck out of it. But even then you could already see she was messed up. I felt sorry for her.
In the years that follow we all stood by and watch her destroying herself. Such a shame and such a loss. 😢
Loved your video. Check out Simply Red, Holding Back The Years. "Strangled by the wishes of pater (father), hoping for the arms of mater (mother)" Written at 17.
What a talent. 😭
She blows my mind. So sad that she is gone.
Please, please make your own judgments about....everything. No one is ever what one person thinks of them. She was a great talent, gone way too soon.
you MUST listen to chris cornell his euphoria morning album and his temple of the dog album PLEASEEEE
theres a white dude wiyh an old black man soul, its crazy man its crazy give it a try but u MUST listen to both albums ok??
I find myself drawn to male vocals, however I have a few favorites…Amy Winehouse, Pink & Tracy Chapman. Pink did some collaborations with Chris Stapleton. I’d check out Pink way before Taylor Swift imo. Great reaction.
Amy Weinhouse is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!
You’re going to 💩 when u hear the album version of this song. It’s uptempo.
This is called “Tears Dry”, the albums version in 2006 is called “Tears Dry on Their Own”.
Ty, Polo.
Try “Rehab” by Amy Weinhouse
Good man ❤
How come you never did a readtion to ‚MASSIVE ATTACK - ANGEL‘? It‘s like dark and the best basslines ever…
A true original ☮️
I dismissed her based on things I heard about her also. During the Trump pandemic when he locked down the country I discovered her music and she is amazing. Such a voice and venerable beautiful young lady. Makes me wish someone was around to help her but in the end we all make our own choices. Tragic she left us so young.
Please react to Amy singing "Love Is A Losing Game."
If I could only listen to one album the rest of my life it would be Dr Hook's, *Pleasure and Pain.*
Hey, we live and learn, and hopefully broaden our horizons, right? Good on you.
Listen to Amy take the box at the mercury awards pls
It would've been fun to hang out at band practice with her I'll bet!
So sad. Apparently she was a kind person, just had trouble fighting her demons.
