And most amazingly, she never studied sang. She learned to sing imitating the birds and animals of the mountains of Peru.
R.I.P. sweet Amy 💔 Thank you for reacting to her amazing talent👏 Amy had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing voice and you have a LEGENDARY artist....gone far too soon....this world & fame was too much for her to cope with. She battled bulimia in her teens/20's, alcoholism/drug addiction in her 20's and the scumbag of a husband that destroyed her (‘Back To Black’ is about him).....he was so toxic, but tragically she paid the price for loving him. Singing was like breathing to Amy, but she didn't even think of herself as that special, saying "I'm just a girl who sings". Please react to 'Back To Black' - I love the studio version....the video is just so prophetic, I cry every time I watch it😭 but there are lots of great vids of her performing it live (Dingle is a good example), ‘Love is A Losing Game’ (Mercury Music Awards, live acoustic): ruclips.net/video/A235fV-CKEY/видео.html , ‘Rehab’ and a couple of AMAZING covers - ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’ : ruclips.net/video/WohZm1GsAOw/видео.html Donny Hathaway's 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' - *IMO one of her best live performances*: ruclips.net/video/362JArvhAqg/видео.html - mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
Everything of hers was on another level, lyrics and her voice. Her lyrics choke me up just reading them but paired with that voice... Wake Up Alone has me in streams every time. It's hurts to know her genius died with her, and what we're missing. I'll forever miss her
It is heartbreaking. She so nearly made it, too. I wish someone could put together an album of her live performances because she never sang the same way twice and she was just sensational.
Best voice to come along in fifty years. She might not have had the range that some singers do, but no one delivered the amount of emotion that she did and makes it look so easy. Love and miss you, babygirl
@Jennifer Acrey She actually had heck of range check out her Frank performances where she jazzcats high. Also Tears Dry or Rehab at Jools Holland she’s in the lowers
When you say she was a master of "moving note from note" is really saying she sang like a instrumentalists would play. I'm a huge trumpet fan/player. She sings like a trumpet player would play. And it blows my mind more "professional" singers/coaches don't notice or realize this fact.
She was such a refreshing artist, in a time of pop stars. She is not only an amazing singer, but genius song writer. Missed so much, gone too early. ♥️
The more I listen to Amy, the more I realise what an extraordinary musician she was. Her command of her instrument is consummate. I think the proof is how the many top level gifted musos who played with her - people who had seen and heard it all - gave their killer best to her songs. That's respect.
Just imagine how truly breathtaking her James Bond theme would have been had she done it. I mourn and grieve not only for Amy herself but for the masterpieces she would have created. Life was so cruel to her, poor girl. I'm just so grateful for her music and I'm so glad she was alive in a time where she was able to record her songs, so that future generations (even hundreds of years from now) will be able to listen to and appreciate her- she will never be forgotten.
Because of her unique phrasing and the power and emotion in her voice, which is the magical part along with the building up of tension and then release. Even though we dont aways hear the words clearly it doesnt matter because of the emotional journey we feel we have been on.
I think she’s the only one that can hop out of a song that’s sung a certain way but still manage to make it sound so beautiful honestly. Such a beautiful person and soul🥰
It's so crazy it's been that long! I'm missing her more and more lately I've been back into her catalog I even bought a tee shirt of her! It's almost like I discovered how great she was again
10th anniversary this year 😔😢 I'm getting a tattoo of her on the actual day (if the rules allow me), just the outline of her head with the eye make-up and the stud beside her lip with a solid black beehive!
not meant to sound cheesy but i think of Amy everyday, listen to her music everyday (right now too) and i miss her so much, her voice has always beeen a safe place for me.Rest easy darling.
I commented on this video before. I can’t help but watch this video over and over because it makes me happy to see you adore Amy as much as I do. It was through this show she did that I first discovered her. I was immediately intrigued! And I became obsessed with her music. I realized that I had developed an emotional attachment to her songs because not only have I felt the things she has written about, but she writes her songs in a way that you experience those things with her. And it absolutely fascinated me how clever her lyrics are. Also it’s a coincidence that you posted this video on her death anniversary. Amy will always have a piece of my heart. She is a legend. Many years later and I still listen to her all the time because she’s just so inspiring to me 🥰
I’m in tears listening to her. I know exactly where I was when my sister called me to tell me of her passing. My heart still hurts. I so enjoyed watching you watching her in admiration. Thank you. If you haven’t done so yet, I highly recommend Francisco Céspedes - Vida Loca. The melancholy in his voice will transport you to a dark corner of bar with a glass of whiskey and a cigarette... oh don’t mind my, just thinking of the Mr. Cespedes singing will do this to you. Also, Ricardo Arjona & Gaby Moreno - Fuiste Tu. They will bring to the surface feelings you had buried.
I loved her! She was certainly special, soooo talented! And you're right, we didn't have much time to know her completely as a singer, she left us too soon! Love your reaction videos!
Hi Andy nice vid to Amy Thanks . As your a great coach and you watch many vids of her you can see Amy even self corrects herself as she sings and alters her pitch and tone to match the feel of the song and she never sang the song the same ever. In her early Frank era she loved playing and performance but after BTB she started to dread it and would need a drink.

Its weird that I stumpled on this video. I was just thinking about Amy. I remember I had a dream that she was wearing a beautiful white garnet and she had no makeup but she was radiant. Hey, I love your reacts, just amazing work. I would like to request a song. This is a Brazilian Band called Legião Urbana - Tempo perdido (the song name). The were huge back on 80’s and 90’s. It’s my favorite song of all. And the richness on the lyrics, it’s so fantastic. Would you ??? Thank you
Great reaction andy!, I love your channel and Amy Winehouse is my favourite female Singer; I would like to recommend Tom Jobim and Frank Sinatra 1967 Medley Duet and two songs by Elvis Presley: Unchained Melody live (1977) and An American Trilogy live in Hawaii (1973)

Thank you
Love is a losing game at the mercury awards, please! It’s my favorite live Amy performance ever.
