Just thinking how good she would have sounded if she wasn't drunk ! It would have taken the vocals off the chart ! But drunk or not still absolutely brilliant. R.I.P
We have lost a brilliantly talented, British artist, you cannot say more than that. I am absolutely gutted, and it still breaks my heart every time I see videos of Amy. What a wonderful person.I'M 68 years old,but that doesn't mean l can't appreciate a wonderful soul.
The soul is beyond time if you ask me. She was beyond time and timeless. Your age is a thing that belongs to your body and little else. I'm 45. You and me both enjoy her music :) She's a treasure.
I always cry when I listen to her and is just because I realize we can't have her again and the MEGA talent is gone. But it comforts me that we have her two masterpieces!!!!!
Dude! I'm a Classic Rocker and I couldn't agree more with your assessment of her amazing talent/ability. Jeez, what a sad story that she died so young. Tony Bennett heaped mountains of praise upon Amy.
Back to Black album is flawless. There aren't many albums you can put on and be mesmerized from start to finish, but this is definitely near the top of the list.
when she was good she was very very good when she was out of it she was very very out of it, RIP Amy the world misses you but thanx 4 leaving your voice to music 4 us that love & appreciate you
Amy wrote this song about Nas, who was a close friends of hers. They also shared the same birthday (September 14), hence the lyrics " Mr. Destiny, 9 and 14". She also sampled Nas on her song "In My Bed", and they worked on music together but unfortunately never finished it while she was alive. Those songs ("Cherry Wine" and "Like Smoke") were released after she passed away. For more performances, I'd recommend Love is a Losing Game at SXSW, an acoustic performance that really just shows Amy at her best on stage.
Jane H commenting …. Amy was such an incredibly bright star, gone way too soon. She was a very clever songwriter as well as having an amazing voice. I remember feeling stunned when I heard she had died at just 27 years old. There are some singers who will remain with us for a long time.
Damn! I usually avoid listening to Amy, it makes me both sad and angry -at fate? at her? I don't know. So expressive, so emotional, yet so completely in control of her abilities. One of a kind. I still remember hearing her voice for the first time: driving in my car, listening to the radio and then suddenly that VOICE came on, singing "Rehab" that had just come out. I was hooked right away. You couldn't escape her vibe.
I discovered Amy when the internet linked her to a search I did for Nina Simone. I heard her voice before I knew what she looked like like and I would have given 100 to 1 she was black. Amy was a jewel beyond price and I cried the day she died, even though I saw it coming.
She is my absolute favorite singer to this day! I I've always loved her and her music since the first time I heard her voice. I really liked her personality, apart sometimes, when she drank too much!!! I understood it, because I was the same stupid addict like her. I even remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard on the radio that she passed away. I thought there would be enough time to see her perform live sometime. Sadly, I never got an opportunity!!! I never went to her concerts because I really didn't like lots of people around me, it feels sooo uncomfortable. She didn't liked that as well, she said once in an interview... And I can see that every time I watch her perform. On small events, she was much calmer than on a big stage. Listening to her voice makes me feel something no other artist can make me feel... Love you Amy R.I.P. ✌️
Fun fact: According to certain higher ups in the music world, Nas heard this and wanted to do a collab. It was supposed to be either a response track, or an E.P. with a little back and forth soundtrack. Even Nas knew she was special.
God, I miss her so much...she was one of a kind & despite all her troubles she always sang her heart out! Early days of her career she was cheeky & often made me laugh when watching her videos and listen to the lyrics. And I think you will do the same! From 2003: "Stronger than me" And same year: "F**k me pumps" Rest in peace, dear Amy, wherever You are. ✌️
Thank you!! You should definitely check out her performance of “I love you more than you’ll ever know” by blood sweat and tears and later by Donny Hathaway. It is absolutely breathtaking !
When I first heard her voice, I was completely drawn to it but as I listened to other songs from her I noticed her song writing was just as phenomenal. I absolutely loved her, still do! Her albums frank and back to black are the type of albums you can put on and just let them play through. No skipping on her albums.
She was such an old soul! During a time when all the female artists sounded basically the same, she was a breath of fresh air! I hope her troubled soul is finally at peace! Now...as we go into the holiday, celebrating our nation's independence, please don't drink and drive! And if you're hosting a gathering, please be mindful of your guests and their alcohol consumption. I'm sitting in a hospital room in the burn unit because a 19 year old boy decided to drive after far too much alcohol. He hit my daughter and son in law while they were riding on a motorcycle! Thank God for helmets, but, my child was wearing shorts! The son in law is bruised and banged up but is okay. So please think before making a decision that can alter many lives! Please pray for her y'all! If praying isn't your thing please pass on some healing energy!
One of my absolute fave performances has to be her with Mark Ronson with Valerie. I know you've already heard it but in this performance she comes out as shy as I ever seen her. With Mark's help she slowly blossom's like a flower as her pedigree and talent take shine. Her quirkiness, body language and obvious talent define our love for her and the missing void left now that she is gone. This clip is best, most others start off late in the performance and the missed magic ruclips.net/video/HbX9I605PkQ/видео.html&feature=share9
You should really do “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know”. It’s a cover, but one of my favorite performances by her as a huge fan. Also can’t go wrong with “Tears Dry On Their Own”, “Love Is A Losing Game” and “Wake Up Alone” live performances. A lot of great ones really. There’s a lot great vocal performances I could suggest, not just from Amy lol.
it always makes me a little sad when I hear Amy Winehouse sing. she was the kind of talent that only comes around once in a lifetime. so sad that her demons got the best of her. R.I.P.
"Jones" is a common term for needing a fix. I think this song is about how only her drug addiction comes between her and her man. RIP Amy, may you be happy wherever you are.
I’m sure someone else has mentioned this but this song is about Nas, her missing a Nas concert, who she loved as he was her birthday twin. That’s why it’s called ‘Me and Mr Jones,’ Nasir Jones, who’s daughter’s name is Destiny and she says “Mr. Destiny, 9 and 14,” their birthday is September 14th. I loved that she loved Slick Rick too. I would consider her hip hop as well. She talks about certain elements that would be considered hip hop within her songs, regularly she did Lauryn Hill, ‘Half Time’ sounds like a Neo Soul song. You’ll have to react to a Nas and Amy song, ‘Like Smoke’ or ‘Cherry Wine.’ I would recommend very strongly reacting to ‘We’re Still Friends’ and watching the documentary’Amy’ you’ll cry like a baby! 😂 Thank you again for keeping her memory alive. ❤
It's so true. The truly good come, stay awhile and then have to move on. It's said that the good die young. Too many do. We're lucky to have been here with them.
-F..k m pumps -Mr. Magic -You sent me flowers -I heard love is blind -Wake up alone Man listen, I just love every song she made, or maybe I just could love every imaginable song, if she only could sing again...? Best you can do, is just to react to every word she ever said and went recorded...😅 Peace bro ✌️
There will never be another. Amy is proof that fame can be very dangerous. Some handle it better than others. Amy was a quiet, sensitive little girl. Fame stole her from the world.
Mr. Jones was Nasir Jones ...Nas , they were dating at one point. They she liked him and they met thru her producer , which was Nas long time producer , Salaam Remi
I remember driving in my car and I called my friend and said We better get tickets to Winehouse concert, bc I didnt think she would be alive much longer , my friend said yep let's gob. I hung up that call, and radio announced , that she died 💔😢

I remember the day well. I still shed a tear watching these videos.
I feel about Amy Winehouse just the same as Janis Joplin the ladies were just amazing and were so very unhappy! And no one was there for them they were just used! RIP to both Amy and Janis! Gone way too soon
She’s just playing around, you can see (IMO) how she’s distracted almost bored and letting her voice run wild while she looks around and thinks about something else. And it’s almost Ella-class. It’s ridiculous. She’s like the Deion Sanders of vocalists.

Deff recommend Cherry Wine it was a collab with Nas, it was released after she passed.
Just thinking how good she would have sounded if she wasn't drunk ! It would have taken the vocals off the chart !
But drunk or not still absolutely brilliant. R.I.P
"Love Is A Losing Game"...This woman was amazing. She has joined the 27 club, that group of rare talents who died at much to young an age.
The one where she is crying singing it! Omg it’s all black and she is perfect
We have lost a brilliantly talented, British artist, you cannot say more than that. I am absolutely gutted, and it still breaks my heart every time I see videos of Amy. What a wonderful person.I'M 68 years old,but that doesn't mean l can't appreciate a wonderful soul.

She was in a bad place by this point, but that voice never let her down.
I saw her live in cardiff student union before she got heavy into the crack, and it's still my favourite gig I've ever been to
She burned so bright but faded so quickly. Such a loss but she certainly made her mark bless her!😢
My heart went out to that kid..😢 she had so much more to offer, like Whitney 😢 both, tragedies..❤
I think about Whitney a lot.
I get your sentiment but she wasn't a kid.
@@leeriches8841 they where to me sweetheart 😏
Hilarious opening line..."What kind of fuckery is this? You made me miss the Slick Rick gig..." Its her love song to Nas. ❤
Yes thank you I was hoping someone would mention this 👍🏼
Especially when at casual glance this could easily have been a Peggy Lee or Irma Thomas number..
"UNIQUE" is best way to describe Amy Winehouse's voice and style. RIP to a LEGEND ❤
So lucky to STILL have her talent preserved!!!
She had an increbibly compelling jazzy voice.
There's no one like Amy Whinehouse. It's so sad that she's gone
Why do people from the US so often misspell her surname?
I always cry when I listen to her and is just because I realize we can't have her again and the MEGA talent is gone. But it comforts me that we have her two masterpieces!!!!!
Incredibly talented. She was so high in this video, but you know her soul was guiding her. You can RIP now, Amy. God has you now. 😢
Agreed. MUSICAL talent. PERSONALITY, she was a hot mess. Hooked up on someone else's 'direction'.
#NoSkips
her first album on vinyl hits hard ... way before back to black there was the amazing F**k me pumps ❤👌🏻
when she was good she was very very good when she was out of it she was very very out of it, RIP Amy the world misses you but thanx 4 leaving your voice to music 4 us that love & appreciate you

And I agree about the live acoustic performance of Love is a losing game. Would love to see his reaction❤️
Love is a losing game live on Jools Holland 2006 is an even better version, check it out 😊
Also Teach me Tonight! She is amazing in the performance ❤
Jane H commenting …. Amy was such an incredibly bright star, gone way too soon. She was a very clever songwriter as well as having an amazing voice. I remember feeling stunned when I heard she had died at just 27 years old. There are some singers who will remain with us for a long time.
She was incredible and is very missed!!!! A true artist with talent that will live on thru her music❤
The performance of 'You know I'm no good' from this live set. Shooting star this one, love her stuff, crackles with creativity.
I didn't really get into amy. Until after she passed away. Love her lyrics and voice. She Left the world young. But left us a musical legacy
Damn! I usually avoid listening to Amy, it makes me both sad and angry -at fate? at her? I don't know. So expressive, so emotional, yet so completely in control of her abilities. One of a kind.

This fantastic woman didn’t need props or anything else to entertain it’s completely her and that amazing voice and her look is stunning.
I discovered Amy when the internet linked her to a search I did for Nina Simone. I heard her voice before I knew what she looked like like and I would have given 100 to 1 she was black. Amy was a jewel beyond price and I cried the day she died, even though I saw it coming.

Always loved Amy's Grammys performances.

Favorite? By Amy ??😆 Every one.. for EACH individual story..holds alot of power..as needed.
So so sad, but she laid it all out there with her voice. Sad nobody could help her.

Jay-Z’s fave was ‘Tears Dry on Their Own.’
Such an amazing artist! But such unhappy dear lady so sad! No one caring enough to get her help! RIP Amy Winehouse
Back to Black and Valerie please!!
it always makes me a little sad when I hear Amy Winehouse sing. she was the kind of talent that only comes around once in a lifetime. so sad that her demons got the best of her. R.I.P.
She grew up in London with Adele. They frequented the same pub, and both said that they learned from each other. Alcohol won in the end.
One of my favorites songs ever.
This was a song to Nas, they share the same birthday September 14th, they seemingly had a special connection

Great list with “Mr Magic” being my all-time favorite.

Great song 🎵 👌
If you reeeaaally want to be blown away…. Check out the song Valerie, live, Acappella. Trust in this!
I love your thoughtful and heartfelt comments.
There will never be another. Amy is proof that fame can be very dangerous. Some handle it better than others. Amy was a quiet, sensitive little girl. Fame stole her from the world.
I hate what the music industry does to all our talented vocalists. So special and gone too soon 😢😢😢
Coulda been greatest jazz singer ever
Mr Jones was NAS. He confirmed it Another classic
Mr. Jones was Nasir Jones ...Nas , they were dating at one point. They she liked him and they met thru her producer , which was Nas long time producer , Salaam Remi
She's referring to NAS in this song. They dated once before
She was flawless!
love Amy she was really high during this but nothing can take that voice
What an amazing talent and sad loss 😢❤
Another great Amy moment was her version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Jools Holland 2006.
Even though Amy had her struggles with substances, what a lost treasure. People shouldn't judge others for their vices. We ALL HAVE THEM. RIP
Amy Winehouse- Some Unholy War. Hands down, favorite song.
So sad. She was trying to be clean and died from alcohol withdrawals.Great talent
I think you'd like the group Concrete Blonde. Maybe react to "Joey" or "Heal it up". The lead singer Johnette Napolitano is a total bad ass!
“Back to Black” is a great song of hers
Classic. 😢
Valerie!
I remember driving in my car and I called my friend and said We better get tickets to Winehouse concert, bc I didnt think she would be alive much longer , my friend said yep let's gob. I hung up that call, and radio announced , that she died 💔😢
I miss her
They tried to make me go to rehab now I'm dead dead dead

YOU DON'T HAVE TO REACT TO IT, but take a look at her duet with Tony Bennett "Body & Soult"
This song was about Nasir Jones
Saludos desde México 🇲🇽. Reacciona a wake up alone. Del mismo live

A bit Edith Piaf, a bit burlesque - sad, sassy, bluesy, fabulous!
The amount of times I think and say "what kind of f is this" because of the men in my life 😂and I always think about Amy and her feelings
I feel about Amy Winehouse just the same as Janis Joplin the ladies were just amazing and were so very unhappy! And no one was there for them they were just used! RIP to both Amy and Janis! Gone way too soon

React to Love is a Losing Game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun fact this song is about Nas
Adele - Sam cook
That’s it I quit I’m moving on !!!! Do that it’s when she was young and it’s amo
She was completely numb at the end
I’m sure you’ve gotten this band’s recommendation already, but I think you’ll love Alter Bridge. 🤟
Sorely missed.
She’s just playing around, you can see (IMO) how she’s distracted almost bored and letting her voice run wild while she looks around and thinks about something else. And it’s almost Ella-class. It’s ridiculous. She’s like the Deion Sanders of vocalists.
Billie Holiday all the way.
(please correct the typo of her last name; it’s *winehouse* - thanks.) ✌🏽
It’s about Nas the rapper they have the same birthday it has nothing to do with a fix
Please do You know I'm no good. Thanks!
Yes i agree
It's Winehouse, not Whinehouse lol
