This performance was actually a rehearsal that wasn't broadcast at the time. Amy was an in-patient in a rehab clinic at the time but left for a day to perform a concert in London to be aired via satellite for the Grammy's, as she wasn't able to travel to America to perform at the ceremony. She won 5 Grammy's that night, a record for a British female at the time. She's a huge cultural icon in the UK and very missed. Sadly she left us very early and her amazing career was far too brief.
@@StarSystemAndromeda Nope, she wasn’t on drugs during the Grammy performance… I’ve seen the documentary and it shows how first she was overjoyed to hear her name from her idol Tony Bennett’s mouth and later feeling lonely without the drugs…

WOW! She passed away at 27 years old? That is shocking to hear ... what an incredible talent she was! Her voice is so crispy! I really appreciate you suggesting this song Demi and giving me a background of this song! I can't wait to hear more of her work! Let the journey begin HAHA I appreciate you
This is the live concert performance I love with her band. Perfection. Brilliant. I feel her pain through the laptop screen. I'm transported to a place that few performers take us to.
RIP Amy Jade Winehouse. Amy died on my daughter's birthdate, (23/July/2011) ,so I know I'll never forget her, I couldn't. Amy & her music means so much to me, thank you for your reaction. 🥰
SO GROOVY. Oh my goodness, there isn’t enough time in a day to suggest everything that needs to be suggested by Amy. But you should really listen not just to everything from Back To Black, but also to her earlier jazz stuff from Frank. Keeping in mind that Amy wrote all her own songs, with just her diary and a guitar. Her live rendition of “I Heard Love Is Blind” live at The Stables. It evokes feelings in me that nothing else does.
I discovered Amy 5 or 6 yrs ago and I almost immediately became a fan. She quickly became one of my favorites. Amy was a Jazz singer like no other Jazz singer and as I said at the top of my list for Jazz #1 until I discovered Angelina who dropped her down to a close second. Angelina was also a huge fan of Amy. She has had a big influence on Angelina's development right up there with Billie Holiday who was Angelina's 1st and most profound influence. IMO Angelina has said there would be no Angelina Jordan if there was no Billie Holiday. Angelina has done 5 or 6 covers of Amy including 'Back to Black' which her mother insisted she rewrite the lyrics to be more appropriate for a 10 yr old which was her age when she recorded it. Each is unique though they have some similarities which many have remarked that she immediately reminded them of Amy. Angelina's versatility and Jazz roots had many influence and Amy was certainly at the top of her list. IMO. Angelina has also done a cover of 'Valerie', which I think was the only one she did not change the lyrics to and has become a favorite of mine right up there with her rendition of this song. She has also done a, while not officially, a cover of 'Rehab' she has a video of a rehearsal of 'Rehab' as well as 'I'm No Good' another rehearsal of both of which had altered lyrics. She also did a live performance of Amy's 'Tears Dry On Their Own' at one of her recent concerts. And there is a vocal recording of her performing 'Rehab' at one of the Kongsberg Jazz festivals. I would encourage you to do any one of these and then do a reaction to Angelina's renditions all of which I did not see a reaction from you though you have done 1/2 a dozen of Angelina's that did impress you so I know you are already familiar with Angelina's incredible talent. Sadly Amy was lost way to early in her 20's to alcohol, drugs and unhealthy relationships. I'll come back to reactions to either artists performances of Amy's songs. She did write and produce some real gems.
Get into it and dig deep, watch the old interviews when she was younger, listen to the frank album, watch live concerts from the early 2000s and you'll understand.... She was a true soul. Lived only for her music, never for the fame. She made true art
Amy was a beautiful angel. Far too beautiful for this ugly world . She let us in , to see her beauty. We didn’t know what we had . So like angels before her . She went back to where she came . To tell stories of this ugly place
Brilliance flashes. It's all it will ever do. It's too high energy- it is a potent but a short existence. It wasn't a gift she wasted or ruined. It's torture for them. 'Give me more', you ask of them. A thousand miles of swimming in a cold dark sea. And you get angry when they never come up for air again. let the girl sleep.
That's the first time I've heard her sing if I'm not mistaken I think she's passed away I don't know what year but I think she's passed away wow I can't get over how her voice and Angelina Jordans sounds identical to me
Nah Hunny Amy came first. Angelina is good and all but Amy was simply the best. If she was still alive and in perfect health I’m sure one performance by her would back up my theory.
Idk why but I don't like that Angelina girl. I just feel like she's kinda unoriginal 💀 but that's just my opinion. I also feel like most of her "fans" are 40 yr old men
Same thing I said. Like people are really hyping this girl up and trying to replace Amy with her. Like it’s so strange. Especially since her live of “Take the box” literally outdoes anything Angelina ever did live. It really upsets my spirit when I see comments of Angelina under Amy’s reaction videos.
Someone should have said something about the dancing.. Its so poor it devalues the brand She would have thrived in any era. Shes soul shes jaz shes blues shes rock and roll Check out her duet with Any Bennett

@@NZBOYY Definitely Amy deserves a spot on your play list. 🥇
She wrote the song and mark did the music with Amy’s input
It may seem joyous, but it's really about heartache after a break up. Amy Winehouse had a way with words. Such a great loss to the world of music.
Amy Winehouse won grammys she is phenomenal i loved her every songs.

Hi, new sub here from UK. I really like that you watch and listen before pausing to comment unlike some that do it a hundred times.
"Stronger Than Me" is my favorite also her performance with Tony Bennett.
she's magnificent isn't she. Lovely voice and style about her. sadly not with us for very long.

I love her voice. Valerie is also a good song.
I definitely need to check that song out. Appreciate it ☺️
Amy Winehouse has passed away NZ BOY 😊 Great reaction.
I love this song so much 😍
She calls her music jazz/hip hop fusion. Sounds mostly jazz to me too. Maybe, Rehab has a little hip hop flavor.
Master class version
She has a great voice 😮
Amazing! So grateful to have found her ☺️
Check up Love is a losing game, acoustic…at SWSX festival Texas is a good one
