She's English from London (but Jewish as far as I know). Her Dad is Black Cab Driver in London. The name "Winehouse" is a classic Jewish surname, her features are classic Jewish features aswell.. - She was a Genius Artist! Weird she would have been same age as you now! MADNESS the Waste Of TALENT and Young life! (She sadly joined the very long list of the "27 Club"!) But will NEVER be forgotten!! RIP! 🙏
Cheers from London 👍🏴🇬🇧
Don't Go To Strangers was incredible, great shout
I’m really glad you think this song is incredible. It truly is and I’m glad she’s still gaining new listeners. Her music is powerful.
The whole album is amazing. RIP Amy, still missed. 💔
Amy one of my all time favorites. Her voice is iconic.
She had a fantastic voice she could use like a weapon, and it expressed a lot of emotion for those listening to her songs.
Another singer like her at the same time from the UK as well is - DUFFY - "Stepping Stone" "Mercy"
Add Warwick Avenue to that list :)
Amy Winehouse was Jewish and she buried her heart😪❤️
Her "Love is a losing game" is hauntingly good.
She reminds me of a lounge singer.
Please dont stop reacting to Amy!!! ❤❤
Hey valerie is one you'd probably heard. The whole world watch her fall to drugs and couldnt help her spirilling. Top vocals and a total down to earth jem
An absolute loss.... Here death reverberated thru the music world. I don't think she ever realized how much she was loved!💔💔💔😥😥😥
Check out I Told You I Was Trouble and Love Is A Losing Game...theres a great live performance. ❤
Her entire catalogue is amazing….she was burying her heart. They cut that bit out where it says on the headstone at the end
Amy ❤ just pure talent wrote her own songs never heard a voice like hers magic
Amy had a brilliant voice. Her background was steeped in Jazz/blues and she was so suited to that style. A tragic story and a very sorry day when we lost her. And yes, she said what you think she said. You should check out You Know That I'm No Good, and Valerie.
Yeah my vote would be for Valerie acoustic version. She left us too soon and often wonder what more she would have brought to the table. We can only cherish what she left behind. RIP Amy.
no way..keep them going, she is LEGIT!
:You Know Im No Good": was the one that GOT ME HOOKED before she blew up blew up. Both albums "Frank" and "Back to Black" are all time greats.
Just rehearsing Back to Black for a gig and came across your video. You are such a sweet pie 💗 Yeah Amy's story is so sad. Such a talented singer, beautiful woman, tortured soul. To answer your question of her ethnicity, she was Jewish and based in London. I still can't believe such a talent just went from the world
Amy was amazing talent. Her cover of, Will you still love me tomorrow, is so soulful
At the time I was very uncharitable to Amy because I knew several people whose lives were destroyed by drug use. After she passed and I grew up a little I realised how I had done her a disservice by not enjoying her incredible talent and have come to see addiction as a health issue with horrible consequences. You need to listen to more of her stuff. Her ska covers reminds me of some Ren tunes. RIP Amy.❤️
I loved her. I still miss her till this day.
You Know I'm No Good and Tears Dry On Their Own are my fave songs by Amy
The sound is derivative of The Ronnette's produced by Phil Spector which Mark Ronson (producer of this album) was clearly influenced by "the Wall of Sound" made popular by Phil Spector. Amy's look is also very much inspired by Ronnie Spector and the Ronnettes. Ronnie covered Back to Black after Amy's death.
Yes you got it right, it was heart. At the end of the video used to say on that grave syone "here lies the heart of Amy Winehouse' it was edited out after she died in respect for her family
She appealed right across the full spectrum of age, ethnicity, origin, her voice was a once in a lifetime.
