It’s a shame that because of her substance-abuse history a lot of people assumed that she died of a drug overdose. However, that is not true. She had been clean for quite a while, but decided to get really drunk and she ultimately died of alcohol poisoning. She battled bulimia and at time of her death her brother said he thinks her body was just so frail and weak that it couldn’t take it.

    This is all not coincedence.
This man really destroyed her. The whole album is about him and about drugs!
No, amy is not mexican. She was born and died in London!
Her parents are also Londoners! She had a jewish funeral and she was woren "the Star of david" as a necklace pretty often!
Her memorial figure is in London, camden market, with her typical beehive hair and her famous little blue dress and her necklace!❤

It’s a case study in what “yes men” will do to you. Her father famously allowed the label to convince him to convince her to keep going and not get the help she needed. She was crying for help. Rehab was an ironic song because it was an addict that wrote it and she even spelled it out in the lyrics, “…and my daddy says I’m fine…”. Valerie is my favorite song by her and Mark Ronson did a bangin’ video after she passed with her vocals on the track.

You should react her (live) performances on The "Jools Holland's Hootenanny" NYE 2006 (TV show)
She duetted with Paul Weller who's a LEGEND! And Jools Holland Also a Legend! Did "Heard it Through Grapevine" and "Don't Go To Strangers" WHICH ARE PHENOMENAL PERORMANCES! POSSIBLY HER BEST LIVE FOR ME!! (and a couple others on that show)!!
She's English from London (but Jewish as far as I know). Her Dad is Black Cab Driver in London. The name "Winehouse" is a classic Jewish surname, her features are classic Jewish features aswell.. - She was a Genius Artist! Weird she would have been same age as you now! MADNESS the Waste Of TALENT and Young life! (She sadly joined the very long list of the "27 Club"!) But will NEVER be forgotten!! RIP! 🙏
    Cheers from London 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

Amy had a brilliant voice. Her background was steeped in Jazz/blues and she was so suited to that style. A tragic story and a very sorry day when we lost her. And yes, she said what you think she said. You should check out You Know That I'm No Good, and Valerie.

Just rehearsing Back to Black for a gig and came across your video. You are such a sweet pie 💗 Yeah Amy's story is so sad. Such a talented singer, beautiful woman, tortured soul. To answer your question of her ethnicity, she was Jewish and based in London. I still can't believe such a talent just went from the world

At the time I was very uncharitable to Amy because I knew several people whose lives were destroyed by drug use. After she passed and I grew up a little I realised how I had done her a disservice by not enjoying her incredible talent and have come to see addiction as a health issue with horrible consequences. You need to listen to more of her stuff. Her ska covers reminds me of some Ren tunes. RIP Amy.❤️

The sound is derivative of The Ronnette's produced by Phil Spector which Mark Ronson (producer of this album) was clearly influenced by "the Wall of Sound" made popular by Phil Spector. Amy's look is also very much inspired by Ronnie Spector and the Ronnettes. Ronnie covered Back to Black after Amy's death.
