Sterlings form for Chelsea hasn’t been great, the last 2 seasons at City it was awful, and he didn’t warrant a regular place in the team, there were more deserving players ahead of him, Bernardo and mahrez were 2 of them. People like Rio Ferdinand and Ian wright should stop sensationalising him, they didn’t watch him every week like we did, I’m not sure he’s as good as they make him out to be, I’m glad we got our money back for him, don’t get me wrong, I won’t underestimate his contribution to our success at City, but there’s no getting away from the reality of his poor form the last 2 years. It's clear to see what is happening, Sterling and Lukaku's £325k a week each needs to come off the wage bill. Chilwell's £200k a week needs to come off the wage bill. If Reece James continues to pick up injury after injury, his £250k a week will come off the wage bill. That makes sense! But the club need to re-invest that money and buy some experienced leaders!! They're spending MILLIONS buying kids that can be sold on in a few years time for profit, Home grown talent is being sold off for "Pure Profit". These owners have very little interest in building a squad to win game NOW or in the future, It's just a marketplace for buying and selling right now, and good players are being forced out to make amends for mistakes made to balance the books. Palmer has been signed up for a further 9 years, and anyone who thinks thats to keep him at the club for 9 years is deluded!! That's purely to drive up his price tag....We got BOSSED by a mature City side yesterday. Men against Boys. We had no leaders in the squad, let alone on the pitch. Over a BILLION spent, and can you see the next JT or Drogba in that Squad leading the way? No!

🔴 Its clear to me that the OWNERS have dictated to Enzo Maresca who should be in the squad on matchday. Enzo actually wants Raheem but Boehly and co want him off the books because they gave him £350k a week and its blocking moves for Osimhen because they want to give that money to him! The bottom line is Raheem will remain! It's boehly's fault for over paying on his salary. Enzo is a YES MAN thats why they got rid of Poch because they dont like to be challenged but the reality is that Poch is a much better coach and manager. Chelsea are a mess 🔴

Souness himself has said before about new managers coming in gives fringe players a chance during pre-season to impress and first team players a push to prove why they deserve to be there.
I watched all the pre-season games. Sterling got his chance, played exactly how he has for the past 2 years and Maresca isn’t gonna keep him around on like 325k a month when we have 28384848 other wingers waiting to take his place plus Joao Felix to slot in.

Chelsea and this manager have had a whole break with Euros and much else to let Sterling know if they did not want him to play. Telling him now which is so late leaves him no time to find another club and sort out a deal and creating such a controversial situation to leave with so little time to bargain is not going to help his position in negotiating with another team. This may mean he is going to have to waste a whole year of his career at Chelsea before leaving and it should not be forgotten the great loyalty he has shown Chelsea when other teams have shown an interest, such as Arsenal only last year where he could have been happy as he has made it clear he wanted to move back to London from Man City so his children could spend more time with their relatives, now navigate this for his family bearing in mind his wages and the demands of his ability as a player has been made more difficult. He's not just a football player, he's a human being. Sterling's career being flushed down the toilet if he puts his feet up? Simon Jordan is seriously deluded. We are not talking about any player or a player who has achieved little as Simon Jordan dreams is the reality about Sterling, we are talking about the most exciting English player of the last half a century who gave many of us our best and most exciting experience of supporting England through a competition in a life time where others we thought would, could not. We are talking about an England legend having almost single handedly dragged England to our first final in over 50 years and the highest scoring winger in Premier league history if you exclude penalties and his wages and demands of himself as a player reflect that. Only 18 strikers in history have scored more goals than him as a winger in the Premier League and even less if you exclude penalties and has achieved this with over 3 years of his career still to play which is not only phenomenal, but has changed the expectations of wingers in the modern game to demand of them that they compete with strikers in the number of goals they score. The remarkable thing about Sterling is that he could put his feet up and never play again at 29 and still his standing for what he achieved in his career is high and above many of those we have praised so much in the past for achieving far less for club or for country. The way Chelsea have treated him is unprofessional and disrespectful. A player of Sterling's quality, stature, achievement and importance to the game in how he has changed wingers cannot be paid so much money to be put on the side to not play football or be put in the reserves; it's an insult to football fans and the sport. Peace and love
