Football is a huge money making endeavor for the owners, as a culture as a tool to market, so the obscene money justifies itself. All of these are facts.
Two different scenarios at Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal fans were fed up as they kept losing thier best players while Wenger played a financial advisor and the team were losing 6-0 and 8-2 to Manu and Chelsea becuase they were told the club had no money. Chelsea on the other hand spent 1.5 billion on players in two years and dont have many players that will start for their rivals.
Agreed, two different scenarios, there was no sanction on Arsenal, whereas Chelsea had sanction and change of ownership to deal with, meaning they have to rebuild again. Tribalistic fan you are.

Happy to say I was at the Stade de France in 2006 when Arsenal created their European football heritage. Say what you like about Arsenal, but they've been unbeaten in Champions League finals since 2006.
When Arsenal bought Pepe for 70m (terrible deal) it was called out as a terrible deal, when Chelsea buy a player for 100m every week, it's called good business because Todd is a man with a plan.. yeah right
Arsenal fans were in the same situation 3 years ago when you finished 8th. Every week you had Gunners moaning. Chelsea are in the same position as Arsenal was. Except we are making more on our players who are not good enough
Someone in football with a brain needs to dispel this myth about attackers being consistent game by game. Whether it’s Neymar, Salah, Mbappe etc they all have good games and then bad ones.
And they all want attackers to either score or assist in every game they play in. I think Sancho was very good for Dortmund last season and people like Simon are always quoting the goal contribution stats to discount his performances.
It's safe to say that Chelsea have spent enough money to atleast finish top 4 in the league. They haven't so far and that's the problem. Simon's point that fans will feel engaged once they start winning is true, but we have seen examples of clubs having spent billions of pounds for a decade with nothing to show for it. At some point you have to start criticising the owners.
Why does it always look like Jim White just cant wait to go down on Simon Jordan after their show ends? When Simon once more attacks Martin over Arsenal, Jim just starts getting excited and even winks at his master at 9:32 thinking about his sausage!

For once I think Simon showed his true colours by allowing a personal dislike of Martin to raise its ugly head. Martin was correct in not allowing comparisons with Arsenal to deflect from the subject at hand - 'Chelsea'- Simon often uses any sort of distraction in order to gain control of the debate.
He's also a hypocrite. If other people start a sentence with the word "if", Simon will jump down their throat and say "yeah, but 'if' your aunty had balls, she'd be your bloody uncle!" Yet, he shameless sits there and says "but 'if' Chelsea end up winning like Arsenal then none of this will be a problem anymore."
I doubt he wanted money above the club's wage structure. He probably just wanted more than he was being offered. Similar to Gallagher, who they tried to palm off with a relatively low salary compared to other players at the club.
@@MentalityGiant he wanted parity with the likes of reece James who's contract was signed under the previous owners, the new owners have a tighter pay structure that Mount's demands would've breached.
All the speculation is pointing at Chelsea getting transfers ban for past owners cooking the books. So all these players will be a good thing if that happens.
I don't even wanna hate on Mudyrk, I actually feel for him. But he chose money over Arsenal. Chelsea destroy most players that come to their club. But I will say thank the lord we got Trossard cause he has been outstanding!
Simon posited that Todd Boehly operates Chelsea in a manner akin to Roman Abramovich’s tenure. However, I strongly disagree with this assessment. While both owners entered the club with grand ambitions, their methods and philosophies reflect fundamentally different approaches to managing the team, signing players, and appointing managers. Roman Abramovich’s takeover of Chelsea in 2003 marked the beginning of a new era for the club, characterized by his hands-on approach and a clear vision for success. Under his leadership, Chelsea transformed from a middle-tier club into one of Europe’s elite. A key element of Abramovich’s strategy was his willingness to invest heavily in the right talent, both on and off the pitch. He recognized the importance of hiring elite managers who shared his ambition. Abramovich brought in top-tier managers, from José Mourinho to Carlo Ancelotti and beyond, each appointed with full backing to implement their vision. His faith in their ability to build a squad led to the acquisition of world-class players-many of whom were not only renowned for their skills but also possessed the potential to adapt and grow within the team’s structure. This strategy yielded significant rewards, including multiple Premier League titles and the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy. In stark contrast, Todd Boehly’s approach since his acquisition of Chelsea has included a number of unorthodox decisions that challenge traditional managerial roles and strategies. Rather than solely focusing on recruiting established, proven managers, Boehly has opted for a more progressive, albeit chaotic, recruitment policy. His appointment of Graham Potter, while initially met with intrigue, signaled a departure from Abramovich’s tried-and-true approach. The ongoing “project” that Boehly is pursuing reflects a fundamental lack of coherence in vision. Transfers have been marked by a scattergun approach, signing a multitude of players without aligning them to a clear footballing philosophy. The club's summer transfer window in 2022 saw a flurry of activity that raised more questions than answers about the direction of the team. High-profile signings were made, but the strategy behind their acquisitions often appeared muddled, lacking the meticulous planning that characterized Abramovich’s era. One of the critical differences lies in the rationale behind player recruitment. Under Abramovich, each signing was typically the result of extensive scouting and thoughtful consideration of how a player would fit into the existing squad and manager’s tactics. In contrast, Boehly’s tenure has been marked by an impulsive and reactive style, seemingly prioritizing the allure of signings over their contextual fit. The signing of young prospects has merit, aligning with a sustainable long-term vision. However, it must be coupled with strategic thinking and the cultivation of a competitive first team. Simply accumulating talent without a coherent plan falls short of the expectations established during Abramovich’s reign. The crux of the issue is coherence in management. Abramovich offered a clear directive and philosophy for success, consistently backing his managers and ensuring a structured approach to player acquisitions. Each transfer window was a step forward toward building a cohesive squad that could challenge for titles. In stark contrast, Boehly’s lack of consistency raises concerns about the viability of his strategy. For a club like Chelsea, which has consistently aspired to greatness, the need for clear leadership and a well-defined vision is paramount. The evidence suggests that while Boehly is attempting to carve out his narrative, he has yet to show the decisive and intelligent planning that characterized Abramovich’s successful years. Conclusion: A Call for Distinction In conclusion, while Simon Jordan’s assertion that Boehly runs the club similar to Abramovich may stem from a surface-level observation that both possess wealth and ambition, the reality is far more nuanced. The approaches to management, player recruitment, and coaching appointments reveal a profound divergence. Abramovich understood the intricacies of assembling a competitive team and fostering relationships with top-tier managers, while Boehly has yet to demonstrate a coherent strategy that aligns with the club’s storied past. For Chelsea Football Club to return to its former glory, there’s a pressing need for Boehly to adopt lessons from Abramovich’s successful tenure-prioritizing strategic coherence and a clear vision for both the present and the future. Without this shift, the club risks meandering through a phase of uncertainty rather than realizing its full potential as a football powerhouse.
I think casting aside two players that have got around 250 Premier League goals between them is a mistake (Sterling and Lukaku) the whole squad put together doesn’t come close. The modern Chelsea is built big hitters and a few squad guys that improve around them. I think this is a hill that Jordan will die on

As far as Arsenal goes, they've only won an FA Cup and botched the title twice now. So, I don't know how all of a sudden they're amazing
There is nothing even comparable between the two situations.
Say what u like, Simon makes sense
Keown wants it to be the case.
I have been in pain since 2006. Let us live ffs.
Get yourself to a doctor lad.
Happy to say I was at the Stade de France in 2006 when Arsenal created their European football heritage.
Say what you like about Arsenal, but they've been unbeaten in Champions League finals since 2006.
Only Madrid have a better record 😂😂😂😂
Tottenham have not conceded a single goal in champions league final since 2019
That's because it's the only Champions League Final you've been in.
Some people clearly don’t get your sarcasm….
Simon Jordan revealing his outright disrespect yet again. He’s just a sad, bitter, disrespectful man. Always reveals his colours
Why does Simon always sound like he woke up the wrong side of the bed every morning.
The most bizarre part of this entire saga is the mythos now surrounding Conor Gallagher. He is a poor man’s Jordan Henderson
How many arsenal academy players in team Martin ?
Someone in football with a brain needs to dispel this myth about attackers being consistent game by game.
Whether it’s Neymar, Salah, Mbappe etc they all have good games and then bad ones.
And they all want attackers to either score or assist in every game they play in. I think Sancho was very good for Dortmund last season and people like Simon are always quoting the goal contribution stats to discount his performances.
We’ve been spoilt as a generation by Ronaldo and Messi having a goal or assist a game their entire career.
Just getting spicy then. These shows need to realize that content prioritizes advertising
Simon is a fantastic analyst ❤
Hi Simon, how are you?
Arsenal were the biggest spenders for like 3 consecutive windows prior to Chelsea spending the billion pounds. Arteta has spent more than Jurgen Klopp already, with just 1 trophy to show. Arsenal have improved but make no mistake, they are very high spenders
Simon spot on as usual...
Nope
Keown is the greatest manager we've never had. I implore the FA to call this man at once, and get him in as England manager!!!!
Rio give him a ten year contract 😂😂😂
We will still care about conor if we win anything mr Simone. We have only 2 youth players left Levi and reece we will never forgive clearlake for that
Most of Chelsea youth are mid.
Colwill has done nothing but make mistakes.
Gallagher, no Chelsea fan wanted him as a starter or a sub. Neither did england fans. And he went to a champs league team in La liga how was Gallagher hard done by?
James is a liability.
90%’of Chelsea youth are average. Where’s all the youth playing from 5-6-7 years ago? Championship or below with odd one in a decent high level team
Can you name me 5 Chelsea legends that came from our academy under abramovich?
1. JT
Please complete the list for me
@@Skutnu 100% It’s all the English media silly pr for GALLEGHER. During the euros they when England was struggling they weren’t falling for him to play now they are speaking as if he is going to take Chelsea to the finish line.
Reece James even if he is not careful next season he’s gonna be sold.
When healthy he is proper good but his injuries are just too much and he is not getting any younger
Why do I keep hearing Chelsea have alot of quality. Its a team of mostly inexperienced average young players that nobody knows who most of the players are. It's a ghost of a team.
Palmer Neto Nkunku Enzo Caicedo James are average????
You should never comment on football again
I love these three !! Legends
Think Simon lost thus one. As soon as he mentioned Arsenal, thought it was a dull move
For once I think Simon showed his true colours by allowing a personal dislike of Martin to raise its ugly head.
Martin was correct in not allowing comparisons with Arsenal to deflect from the subject at hand - 'Chelsea'-
Simon often uses any sort of distraction in order to gain control of the debate.
I am sort of confused by the kind of comments coming from Martin, an Arsenal fan. Like seriously!!!!!!!
martin was on form this morning
Sterling on 350k/week. What a complete waste of money
Mason mount wasn't 'allowed to leave' he refused a contract extension, wanted money above the club's wage structure.
I mean i agree with keown, but strongly agree with simon as well
Everybody got an opinion on chelsea spending when the owners of the club aren't..respect to simon
Conclusion: A Call for Distinction
In conclusion, while Simon Jordan’s assertion that Boehly runs the club similar to Abramovich may stem from a surface-level observation that both possess wealth and ambition, the reality is far more nuanced.
Roman didn’t invite Simon out to dinner so he won’t have anything good to say about him

I think casting aside two players that have got around 250 Premier League goals between them is a mistake (Sterling and Lukaku) the whole squad put together doesn’t come close. The modern Chelsea is built big hitters and a few squad guys that improve around them. I think this is a hill that Jordan will die on
I wish all those fans had put they money together to buy the team when they were close to be extent 😅
Simon is a failure.. From Prem team owner, went bankrupt and ended up a pundit on talksport lol
I bet he’s still got more in the bank than you though…
Whatever u wanna say about Abram, he loved, cared an invested properly; he made Chelski a dynasty (a beast) an didn't put players on lifetime deals an spend billions yearly on below par nobodies
Chelsea spending over a bill ,putting average age players on 4eva 7-9 contracts an a disenchanted new owner is completely different t Ole Kronkeface whose 29year+ financial negligence of Arsenal led t Wenger doing the unthinkable in his latter Arsenal yrs.
I love simon man!😂🤝🏾
No
Simon is absolutely waffling to try and fit a narrative.
Honestly Moresca is straight forward
Who?
Simon bang on. All about winning and if or when Chelsea do its all forgotten
Hey Martin, where did Emile Smith Rowe develop? You know the Fulham signing.

Speajing as a chelsea fan . I dont feel entitled to winning . We won a lot under roman but the fact is thats history this is the present its different owners different team it will take time. As for Galla he wasnt that great he loved the club ran his socks off but he wasnt a goal scorer he didnt make lots of assist either . These chelsea fans who keep going on that "this isnt our chelsea" are stuck in the past things change . Ya get behind the team
Simon's deflecting to Arsenal (completely different) and ridiculous revisionism on Chelsea because they sacked a few managers, is a rare victory for Keown, although it was funny to watch. As another poster said, what does Boehly have on Simon?! Or more likely perhaps Simon is trying to protect him to stay relevant and those cosy dinners out don't end :D
"Somethings not right at chelsea". Yeh, the owner
“If I was a parent I wouldn’t want my child in the Chelsea academy “ Do you want your child to make it pro or do you only want them to go pro at Chelsea? Cause from what it looks like is, Chelsea help players go pro…which is the goal.
Keown - Arsenal telling Chelsea fans how they feel - clueless. Sterling has had his flip-flops on since he arrived.
Simon Jordan is an apologist for the Chelsea ownership group
Simon Jordan the oracle of all things football at it again! Such a stupid comparison, he just can’t help himself.
Exactly. I wish so many people would stop idolising him, he's absolute full of shite.
Abramovic bought the best in class and ready made superstars Simon saying chelsea today is run by theses Americans is the sake as the Russian is profoundly false.
Simon Jordan my man😊 you dealing very well with them haters
