Great job Jimmy. Love to see old panes fly again and not rot away. Unfortunately there are to many that rot away and the owners think it's made out of gold. On to the next one.
It’s painful to see these awesome machines neglected. On to the next one!
@@therealjimmysworld Yeah,, Speculators.. They buy, abandon and wait for the offers.. Pigs. Dam pigs. In my native Colombia, they steal them at night if they see them abandoned for a few months.. No good machine is left to rot like in USA. Seen thousands at different airports.. Rotting. So sad to see that..
ATTABOY Jimmy. Live long and prosper. You got the smarts to get things done. Keep on keeping on. Dan from Guilford, CT. I am 72 yrs. old. Been an auto and truck, bus and coach mech for 50 yrs. If you got a no crank, hit the started with a brass mallet and off she goes. You need a starter. Don't shut her down till you get her back to the yard. worked almost every time for me. I worked all day and was on call all night in minus 3 deg many times on a snowy night on the side of the road.
What a trip, Jimmy. Fantastic job!! I wish I'd have found your channel 6 months ago when this was going on, but I'm glad I found it now. I watched all the videos up to this one starting yesterday. Man, watching this one, I felt the excitement and tension as though I was in the right seat. What a trip. Thanks, man. I'll keep watching all of 'em in order from here as well. Congratulations!!!
Well done Jimmy. It's been an interesting and entertaining journey for us, and you were always going to make it. I hope it gives you and your family many trouble free hours of pleasure.
Thanks so much!
Congratulations Jimmy. I’m so happy for you. Thanks for sharing the project with all its ups and downs. Enjoy and stay safe.
Thank you! Will do!
Very well done !! So glad to see it flying again that thing is Saved .
Congrats, Jimmy!
Great to see that Flying Fortress still flying. My dad was a flight engineer on those during WWII and he ended up a “guest” of the Luftwaffe for 13 months.
No room service??
@@emergencylowmaneuvering7350 - the closest to “room service” on the Black March was when some German resistance members covered containers of raw milk in a pile of hay in sight of the barn they slept in one night. Outside of that, it was a lot of sawdust bread and boiled beets and potatoes - you didn’t want to be last in line to get a spud from the bottom of the muddy pot.
Congrats Jimmy! It’s been awesome to watch you go through the journey with getting this plane back in the air. Look forward to your watching your many fun adventures in it! Oh, and “Kilo Carrier” is perfect! 😂
Have to put kilo carrier back to work! Lol
This is the first time I’ve viewed this one. Great to see that bird flying Jimmy. I believe you have shown videos of this one flying since then as well. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
That's so awesome to see her in the air. A proud moment for you!🤟
for real! Thanks so much!
Fantastic channel Mate, love digging around finding your projects on the net,
We love ya down under here in Australia, keep up the great work. Steve.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the series so far
Thanks so much!
Love going back watching your earlier vids. Always start my work day with a little jimmy’s world. 👍
Jimmy, you busted you butt on this airplane; congratulations on getting it back into the air! I hope you're feeling the satisfaction of a job well done. Thank you for sharing the process with us!
Thanks so much! It was a ton of work, and glad it's a flyable project now!
Pretty awesome good job my friend. When I bought my Cherokee I stopped in Knoxville for fuel and had to hold short for a B17 on final what an experience to see. Brought back memories. Look forward to more videos, great job!!
Very cool!
Congratulations! Looking forward to all the videos at least through the next annual.
That will be the true test!
Nicely done Jimmy ! you deserve it ! you work so hard for this final goal ! Bravo
Thank you so much 😀
Great to have watched you work over the course of this series, love your unique style and enthusiasm. Thanks for making it. By the way, adding a -40db attenuators (amazon has them pretty cheap) in your sound recording cable will help calm down the supper high output from airplane panels.
Thanks so much! and that's a good suggestion. I'm not so good at the video making or editing... lol
Love the videos Jimmy. Best of luck with the maiden flight!!
thanks so much!!
Congratulations!
Congratulations, Jimmy!! Well done!
Thank you so much 😀
Great to see her flying Jimmy after all your hard work. 👍
Yes indeed
Engine sounds great, nice job, the plane we used this to deliver mail for a time.
HI from Australia, I dont know you, but so proud of you. Your persistence and intelligent sense of humour has been fantastic. These have great videos!
Wow, thank you!
You must be real happy. All that hard work has payed off
What a treat! The camera work was great ane the B-17!Awesome finish!
Great video Jimmy. Glad the maintenance check flight was a sucess. Always nice to see a B-17 Flying Fortress taking off. Looks like this B-17 was Aluminum Overcast that's owned by the EAA. My father was in the USAAF during WWII and he was an instructor pilot in B-17 Flying Fortresses, B-24 Liberators and Martin B-26 Marauders when he was stationed at MacDill Field there in Tampa, Florida. There was a sign over the entrance to the base that read "Two a day in Tampa Bay," but to be fair, in 1944, they were averaging aircraft losses of two a week and not all aircraft lost were B-26's.
Congrats man, enjoyed watching your journey!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great job guys
Congratulations! Very happy for you!
Thank you so much 😀
Congratulations Jimmy
Job well done. Fly safe
Colin. UK
Thanks Colin!
Jimmy is living my dream...I envy him greatly. I wanted to fly my whole life. Passed my ground school and my dream ended there. Never had the $$$ for flight school. I live through you Jimmy...thanks for the ride young man...
Congratulations! I think the work and frustration was worth it. Looks like you have a strong engine. That 6 jumps in the air.
Thanks so much! yes, this sucker wanted to climb to the stars! It's trying to make up for being on the ground for 2 decades.
Great project, Jimmy. Congrats.
Thank you! Cheers!
Well done!!! Great to see her in the sky
Nice to see this in the Air. Congratulations ! Cant wait to see all the adventures. I just cant wait till my mechanic can start fixing my bird.
Thanks so much! What are you flying? or... waiting to fly?
Dude!!! Sitting on the Tarmac, behind a B-17!!!!!! That's amazing! Good stuff sir!!!
Used to fly these 25 years ago. With the camera view on the windscreen like that I kept glancing below my monitor and brain gets confused about the junk on my desk where the instruments should be - LOL. Thanks for the ride !!
Thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed the video!
Hell yeah. Congrats man. Hope to see you around.
Thanks so much!
Excellent stuff bro
Oh Hi Jimmy, very well done !
Awesome first flight! Congrats
Yes, thanks
Congratulations! I'm still working on my project while you are flying!
Thank you! Keep me posted!
Congrats! I know this is a proud moment for you.
Thank you so much!
Jimmy, really amazing hoy you take a plane to air, after 24 years; wonderfull plane, I had the chance to fly a Piper PA.32, and it is a very good single engine plane.
Take a break, refuel one of your best planes and head down South to Patagonia, with thy family!. We will be waiting for you!.
God bless you man.
Congrats !!! Cheers from Akron, Ohio
Thanks so much! Love that area!
Well done good stuff 👍
Man, that's is cool! Happy dance all day!
And hats off to your support crew. Awesome IA and CFI to help get it all finished up to this point. Such a great achievement! And all that experience you got for taking your plane apart and putting it back together. Great work!!
It definitely took a team to get this bird alive again! I owe Phil (IA) lots of Dr Pepper! and Cleetus Buford lots of PBR!
Is it fairly common to find good honest kind hearted certified people to help a person restore a plane or is it a harsh world to operate? Would a novice like me be eaten alive out there?
Great job! Look forward to seeing where you'll fly her to next.
You and me both!
the gas station! hahahahaha she likey the gas.... hahahaha
Very cool! just found your channel. As it turns out I learned to fly at PCM! Took my check ride there in December 1994, bought a C172L there and based it at ZPH before moving to Georgia in '98. Sold the plane in 2017. Not a happy day as the saying suggests, though.
Congratulation too all of you. A healthy engine that makes a good power, awesome 😃👍✈
Way to go Mate! She is flying again!
Great job Jimmy!
Thanks so much!
Epic Jimmy, you go my man make them alive
Great content👍👍👍👍

Hey Jimmy! I’m enjoying the hell out of your videos! You definitely need to add the “ don’t try this at home” warning!
Congratulations!!
Thank you!!
Great job Jimmy . Perhaps not the very best conditions for a maiden flight ? So good to see you up in the air! Congratulations yet another great video. Looking forward to seeing you here in Ireland!
Thanks so much! Looks like Ireland conditions! hahahaha
Excited 😜 ! Pray that all is A OK 👌🏻
Thanks so much!
Well done Jimmy, it's been a long slog to get the old girl back in the air, but well worth it, enjoy your cigar and hope you have hours of pleasure in the Kilo Carrier 😉

Thanks so much! Definitely.
Awesome.....congrats....
Thank you 😊
Well done!
Thank you!
I did like the call, "3 green, wheels down and locked". Good habit even in a fixed gear. :-)
Congratulations, Jimmy. Nice to see the bird in the air? Did I hear “Plant City” on those traffic pattern calls? I am from Plant City. Got my pilot training out of that airport. And, that got me an air traffic controller job at ZJX. Enjoying your videos.
Congratulations. Well done. Wishing you many, many flight hours of enjoyment before you sell it and get going with another one...😃
How about taking it to Sun n Fun next week for a meet and greet? Just an idea. Saludos !!!
Many thanks! and yes, I'll be there for a couple days of it :) hope to see you there!
G,day Jimmys world from Sydney, Australia .
I am very happy for you after the test flight of the Cherokee 6.
* oil temp and pressure maintained acceptable operating limits.
* Through the camera: the engine sounds like 'a constant low pitch grumbler' no taps or knocks.
* I pray that all gauges and LCD are accurate, all yoke inputs to control surfaces are correct.
May all your landings be soft.

Thank you sir!
Congratulations from Sweden! I'm not a pilot myself. Not into avionics at all actually. But I have followed you from the start. Just enjoyed the process of rebuilding of the aircraft. Take care and fly safe!
Awesome, thank you!

Many many thanks
Congrats.

She does fly and goes up like a Saturn V, while empty of course... Excellent work.
Fine job! And I know you're not finished yet. keep up the good work!
Wow, excellent job, your Mechanic really did you a service guiding you through the whole restore process. Really this is quite an accomplishment. How did you ever manage a project like this. Did you keep a punch list and check what needed to be done off the list?
It'll be over 36 years for me got my 3rd class medical a new cert from the FAA appears my old paper one is a collectors item. Now waiting for my nephew to find a new place to live I sell my condo and then relearn all the things I have forgotten and so much new stuff getting very excited can't wait.
Plane is absolutely leaping into the air. It has missed being airborne.
Good job!!
You are right! Got to make up for 20+ years on the ground!
This is a happy and sad day.
Happy because it’s back in the air.
Sad because the series is over soon.
Great job Jimmy.
You going to S n F next week?
Hope to see you there.
Blue sky’s
It's in the air, but it's not done... many more videos to come!
Yes, I'll be at SnF. Come up and say hi!

Sounds like a clear prop moment. Hope all goes well.
definitely a CLEAR PROP!
Much love to the b17 🇺🇸
Congrats Jimmy! Hey, wait... you can fly too? There goes the neighborhood! Enjoy that airplane, Man!
Flying is WAY more fun than the fixing... hahahaha
@@therealjimmysworld - Tell me about it!
Well done! I used to worry about fixing my old cars. :-)
This is like an old volkswagen... with wings... hahahaha
@@therealjimmysworld you don't have to have another expert check your old VW before you drive it!
lol, experimental huh..... hahahaha
i enjoy flying ...!
Contrata from Brasil Jimmy!!
congrats
Thanks so much!
Phil is thinking at the end "How in the world did this Jimmy guy manage to pass his PPL license? This guy is nuts" LOL
Yeah .crazy like a fox..
Good job. I also like Olivia cigars.
thank you! those are great!
I can’t wait!
I know!!! it's so exciting!
@@therealjimmysworld still waiting!!! Haha
Well done sir! No comes the hard part keeping it in the air, you thought you days of ramen were done? Think again, I remember spending many hours working on my Dad's 182M. So many inspections and then all the metal work I did on it.
You got that right!
CLEAR PROP!!!
