I've read a lot of reddit feedback and other forums noting that people experienced flickering when using this monitor with G-sync turned off. Also seems Gigabyte removed "G-sync compatible" from their website. Did you experience any of these issues??
@@en4ble773 It finally arrived on the 18th of December and honestly compared to the AOC c24g1 I used before it's a huge step up. Image quality is better, the ultrawide aspect turned my games into a whole new experience, it's brighter and it's 1440p. I have the 32in version and I love it. Fast refresh rate of 165hz, you get the usb connector for the Osd sidekick, and its cheaper. If I was a first time buyer I'd could see people having a tough time deciding which to get. For me it the faster refresh rate for a slighty smaller screen. I returned my G9 Odyssey as that monitor was to big and expensive i paid almost 1500$ for that monitor. I bought the G34WQC for 409 US shipped from Newegg. And honestly couldn't be happier. Not only did I gain more performance as the res on the G9 was 5120x1440 ..while this was 3440x1440 mind you I have a 3080FE and even some games would struggle @ max settings on the G9 .Only issue I have with it is the backlight bleed mine has quite a bit but honestly you cant notice it on lit backgrounds. It offers great color and good performance I will be keeping this .But yes like the reviewer said it sucks it doesn't have a usb hub or OSD settings.
Only advantage of the cooler master I can find is that the controls are on the bottom. I have a multi-monitor setup and it makes it hard to get to the controls on the back of my Acer 34" because I have a bookshelf speaker hard mounted to the wall directly next to the monitor. Not a common setup to have everything wall mounted like that but it makes it really hard to use the controls on the back. I'm considering this gigabyte monitor and hoping that the 1500R curve makes the monitor slightly narrower and allows me to slip my hand next to the monitors to access the rear controls.
Hi. I have this Monitor too. What have you set in the options. There are so many. 5 presets for Gamma. 0-20 Blacklevel or some sort oft. With 11 or lower i have issues in Doom. And dark areas are crushed. I hate so much options. You allways think that you done something wrong.
Wow, I'm disappointed they didn't put a USB hub on that. Maybe it's a trade-off for something or a feature for a later IPS version? Still, it's a good value monitor for a VA UW. Not a fan of VA panels, but that's subjective.
Thats the thing. If I put an IPS panel and a VA panel next to each other and didn't tell you which one was which you probably wouldn't be able to tell me the difference.
@@GearSeekers Yep. Pixel density used for BOTH types of panels is actually more important to avoid that "grid" like impression on the screen when used on a desk in front of your chair. A good VA panel isn't really that hugely different from an IPS one as long as color accuracy isn't the nitpicking point (for pros I assume). It's actually more important for these budget offerings to actually work in the advertised native refresh rate and resolution. Some cheaper lesser known brands release models rated for, say 1440p in advert, but in actuality is just 1080p that can be OC'd or "overdrived" to 1440p but that causes issues when you also turn on the Freesync/G-sync feature on. I remember BEZEL had an issue like that before. This one I think works out of the box and does what it says. That's good enough. Although, I am surpised Gigabyte didn't put in USB on it. The budget daily driver I have from Gigabyte (trusted longtime partner of mine) has USB and is an IPS, so I do wonder why they chose not to put one this time.
Thank you for this review you really helped us out I got this gorgeous monitor I can't believe this 400$ for this beast, it's worth the double trust me
Thanks for the excellent review, I'm in the market for a 1440p 144Hz display and have watched a bunch of the Hardware Unboxed reviews and yes, their reviews get deep into the weeds. I am looking for a solid mid-range monitor ($350-450 USD) I don't play AAA titles, I normally still play stuff from the 2000s LOL GRAW and GRAW2 mainly for that I have a GTX 980, just want Windows 10 to be at 2560x1440 @ 144Hz and be able to play the older games at whatever max freq they support (likely still 1080@60 I am assuming).
Not a long time a go i bought a 27 inch monitor, but it feels a bit small and especially when i race. I don't have the room for 3 27 inch monitors so i think that i switch to this one!
I just ordered this monitor. I’ve been using ultra wides for the last 2years and I can’t go back to a 16:9. Most importantly where can I find that desktop wall paper
As someone who has only ever used basic 60Hz TN monitors before now, VA panels are SHITE for gaming. Had two brands of ultrawide VA monitors and both times the ghosting/motion blur spoils any high framerate that is to be had. The ultrawide aspect ratio doesn't make up for something as fundamental as how smooth and clear the image is, so I've opted for a 2560x1440 240Hz TN monitor instead. The only thing VA panels are good for is cinematic and regular computer usage.

Will this monitor do next gen 1440 120hz?
Finally able to order mine at Best buy this week. It's backordered though so I actually have no idea when I'm going to get it. But I got $40 off.
Wallpaper is from the movie "Drive" starring Ryan Gosling
It's from reddit

@@GearSeekers I meant the shot haha. Like probably a promo for the movie! :D
Excellent video you got a new sub here!!! and after watching lots of videos i think i am going to take your advice and just grab this one !!!!
Thank you for this review you really helped us out I got this gorgeous monitor I can't believe this 400$ for this beast, it's worth the double trust me
Hello Nick! So which one should i get? Gigabyte G34WQC, Coolermaster GM34-CW or AOC CU34G2X? The monitor will be used mainly for gaming.
It was the skipping of Windows ME that had me.
I have this light constantly turned on, on the bottom right side of the monitor? How do I turn this off?
Love your vids. Even if I don't agree I like your take on stuff
Pretty phenomenal monitor for the money, epic review as always ✌
Not a long time a go i bought a 27 inch monitor, but it feels a bit small and especially when i race. I don't have the room for 3 27 inch monitors so i think that i switch to this one!
While I'm watching this review about 34 inch mornitor I thought 'he's rap is not bad actually, I'd rather listen twice'
OH, add that Ubuntu login sound too.
This looks perfect for specs and price. Thanks mate. If you've got an Australian affiliated link. Let me know
I can't access the picture menu in the settings. Has anyone else encountered this? How do you fix it?
I just ordered this monitor. I’ve been using ultra wides for the last 2years and I can’t go back to a 16:9. Most importantly where can I find that desktop wall paper
Now im disappointed Windows 10 doesnt have a start up sound
I would love a deep breakdown of the Strix 3090 overclocking
There is no overclocking rtx 3000 🤣
Gear Seekers because of the crashes?
I paid twice as much money to basically get this in IPS panel (LG 34gp83a).
Will this monitor run at 144hz or 120hz through the HDMI ports or does it have to be through DP?
As someone who has only ever used basic 60Hz TN monitors before now, VA panels are SHITE for gaming. Had two brands of ultrawide VA monitors and both times the ghosting/motion blur spoils any high framerate that is to be had.
The ultrawide aspect ratio doesn't make up for something as fundamental as how smooth and clear the image is, so I've opted for a 2560x1440 240Hz TN monitor instead. The only thing VA panels are good for is cinematic and regular computer usage.
