    Thanks for the review!
    I was trying to decide if I should purchase the vidas and if so what color. I wanted a color/style that would look good with my tan, Black Diamond suede session shoes. Looks like you just answered both questions lol

    The seat is single layer only, and not double layer as stated here. The pockets are comically tight and restrictive of movement when there is anything in them. The knee pads ride up and give no protection when kneeling as they're too short. I found the seams around the crotch area started to wear into holes after a few weeks of regular use. The Barents Pro is a MUCH better trouser in all the areas I've mentioned above. Waxing not mentioned here but forget the bar wax and go for a tinned option. I used Barbour Thornproof wax on my Barents Pro trousers and it's a much nicer looking and feeling result, besides being more effective.

    Does this have reinforced rear on the butt? they look green like the knees but they are or not doubled layers? i am concern about the rear because i sit on often on rocks and ground in the desert. the ones i saw they did not have double layers on the back.. This trousers i find it in US, maybe yours in Europe version vida ventiladed

    Hi, how would you compare sizing between the Ventilated Vidda Pro and the classic one? Is your size 50 equal or tighter on the ventilated? Thansk

    • @trekitt

      Waist sizing is exactly the same. Main difference is around the lower leg. Harry

    Somehow nobody mentions that pockets on the ventilated model are pretty useless. If you stick anything thicker than a mobile phone in any of the pockets, your movement will be severely restricted. The knife pocket is narrow. It is actually too narrow for most knives. You can fit like couple of models of Morakniv or smaller Fallkniven (like F1) with plastic sheath, but it's just about it. Don't get me wrong, material is nice, quality of the pants is superb, but these pants (at least the ventilated model) is for hikers only, not for bushcrafters.

    • @Kaltwasser45
      @Kaltwasser45 Год назад +1

      I haven't found that with mine. As a matter of fact, I have been carrying my Esee 4 with a kydex sheath in the knife slot with ease. I'm pretty sure the Esee 6 would fit in there as well.
      Grant it, I'm not stashing books in my pockets either. I've even carried a pistol in one of the pockets. IMO, these are bushcraft/tactical pants; very heavy duty at that.

    • @CorvusCorax_0x0
      @CorvusCorax_0x0 Год назад

      @@Kaltwasser45 have you tried squating in these paths with thigh pockets filled with gear? Nothing crazy, just a military compas or heftier flashligh, heck, even a bundle of keys. I didn't find a way to do that without considerable amount of discomfort.

    • @Kaltwasser45
      @Kaltwasser45 Год назад

      @Corvus Corax I'm actually working in mine right now removing fencing. I have my Esee4, wallet, cell phone, bulk keys, and I think that's it. I'm squating comfortably, but admittedly they're not completely full.
      I have yet to find a pair of trousers that will fill the cargo pant pockets completely full and be comfortable squating and durable at the same time. If I'm carrying this much, usually a day pack gets the excess.

    If anyone owns these could they tell me if the zip vent works well?
    Thanks guys

Disappointed., but at least i'm not like eveyr other Fjallraven-sporting dude (which is everyone outdoors these days) and unique... Hard to tell they're Fjallraven though without....

    I thought cotton was a no go in hiking wear ?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Год назад

      100% cotton is not ideal, but it has its benefits when mixed with polyester. G-1000 is 65% polyester and 35% cotton, so dries much quicker, feels nice next to skin and is fairly weather resistant when waxed.
