Finally! A reviewer addressed how these pants fare in extreme cold. Thanks you! We are planning a trip to Svalbard and I was considering getting a pair. Now I’m sold. Thanks again.
I have owned a pair for about 3 years, wear them about every day and have yet to wear a hole or tear in them… worth every penny!! Very comfortable trousers
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 Great video dude , Very honest 👊I just purchased a pair (without vents) today and was having a gander for reviews. They look sturdy and comfortable in use which is needed in the woodlands 🌳🌲🌳 thanks for sharing 👍🍀
These things kick ass all over the place. Tons of well-thought-out details, and I have yet to come across anything that offers so much durability combined with that level of flexibility. They work year-round in Norway, too. The lack of back pockets is a benefit as far as I'm concerned; I don't enjoy sitting on my things, so I prefer the simpler and stronger approach.
I wish they had: mesh in the vents, another phone pocket on the left side (I hate asymmetrical pockets), also a built in adjustable waist belt like some of their other pants.
For camping and bushcraft the Fjallraven pants function well but for those of us who are highly active and climb, scramble through rocks, and do a lot of off-trail in rocky terrain, having added mass in cargo pockets or even having bulky cargo pockets in the first place is less than ideal. I really wish they made heavier pants like these without the ridiculously bulky pockets. Love their other products and have four of their jackets but the one pair of Kebs I have only get worn when sitting around camp or doing yard or trail work. Unfortunately they're pretty much useless when being highly active in places where I'm climbing, scrambling, or squeezing through rocks.
I personally really enjoy the pockets, it gives easy access to things i want to keep safe or out of the way when im hiking. But thanks for weighing in your opinion love hearing other peoples opinion on these types of gear and see what works with people!
If you wear an oversized pair than you can wear them in the hot Summer, otherwise a tighter fitting pair will be too warm; heat builds up inside of them but seriously an oversized pair is much less warm.
Mine were worn out at the crotch in a few months. Fjällraven refused to admit that G1000 is so fragile when I complained to them about such wear in several different pairs of their trousers. Their warranty and customer service is a joke.
That really sucks to hear but the crotch area isnt reinforced with the G1000 material but depending on the cause of damage you can try their warranty again or go to a store for a repair job!
@@bryanwanphotography The softshell in that area was fine but the seams were worn where the material was G-1000. In fact, the seams were wearing and splitting only where the G-1000 was, at the crotch and up into the seat area. This sort of damage happened with my Abisko Lites and my Vidda Pro Ventilated too. Fjallraven's answer to my complaints were basically that this couldn't happen.
This is hard to believe from my experience. I had several of their items serviced over the years with no questions asked. From general waxing to repairs of seams and rips (that obviously were my fault), they took the items no questions asked for free repairs - even a pair of vidda pros that were about 8 years old. Albeit I just take them into the store as I work close by one. I have found the durability on their gear close to none. My oldest pair of vidda pros (about 8 years) have been through the ringer. I did not care for these at all and have abused them to no end. I brought them into the store this past weekend for minor repairs and waxing, and got them back looking like new.
@@martink7279 Well, it's true. Zero interest from Fjällraven in doing anything about it. A blank denial that it was even possible due to G-1000's "hard wearing" properties. No repair or refurbishment service is offered in any of their UK outlets and no offer was made fir me to send them to Fjallraven's HQ for examination, which would have been at my cost anyway. I don't appreciate being called a liar, by the way.
@@danceswithbadgers Sorry your feelings were hurt so easily but no one's calling you a liar here so chill. I just said that it's hard to believe based on the positive experiences I have had with them, but sucks that they are treating you this way.
they are a little long on me but i perfer the extra length because i feel like it would prevent more dirt and debis from getting into my boots. But Fjallraven allows you to tailor most items so I could trim it a little more
I bought a pair, after less than 40 days mountain wear both bottom seams have holes in them. In my opinion tje bottom of the trousers are too heavy for the normal material, not worn crampons with them or done anything apart from normal Trekking. I am in my 50s and have never had a pair of trousers fail so quickly. Sent away 18th December still waiting for any reply from Fjall Raven a month later. So far poor quality for what they are and the price charged.

Don’t know why no one really talks about it 🤷♂️
I think they are cold in the stretch areas

Hello, how do those pants fit? Are they baggy, loose, slim?

Thanks for a nice review. About sizing I wear 33-34 waist trousers EU size 50. Should I go a size bigger? or same size would fit me?

very helpful review, thank you.
Name of the boot you were rocking during the review?? Thanks, great take on the pants.

They do make pants without the bulky pockets. I use mine for scrambling. The two hand pockets are zipped so nothing to catch.

what do think about abisko compares to keb
I dont have any experience with the abisko pants but it would depend what youre using the pants for and the activities you do!
Nice video

hello what is your height? 😀
They are long on you. I take a short and the fit is perfect on my Vada Pros.

Ya'll tripp'n, I guess some people like to wear "high waters". 😂
G1000 is not waterproof and barely water resistant without wax
youre correct it isnt waterproof but water resistant but there is a major difference in water resistance with and without the wax
Yeah, that's why you have the option of waxing them.

Maybe you can try Gash Hao, a niche brand with quality and value, I have four pairs of pants from this brand in rotation!
great pants , pitty they are made in Vietnam
They are fantastic pants but unfortunately a lot of the items nowadays are made overseas. Maybe one day they will change that
@@lisamcgovern5379 thats a very good point
Ya need to bring factories into prisons.
Sorry but mesh in vents would not be any good.
Why? It's fairly common in moto pants. Just curious.
@@chillyinalberta they restrict airflow way too much and get caught in the zipper when closing the vent.
Montane super terra pants have mesh, I've had no problems @@sebulban
Not waterproof !!! Water resistant if you use wax .
Stop the fucking music plz.
