  • Our friend Paul gave us the chance to go cruising up to Big Bear with him in his Bonanza A36. This isn't just any old Bonanza...it is one of 60 converted to a Rolls Royce Turbine engine! Come along for the ride as we go from our usual Low & Slow to High & Fast, watching the world go by at over 200 knots.

    You guys rock! Keep up the awesome work! Having flown a little bit of everything from gliders to Cessna 170/172/182 to Stearman, to a Starduster Too, to Bonanzas, to F-15s and B-1s, I can tell you they are all cool in their own ways. Some of them are fun to own. Some are much better to let others own and fly when you can.
    Love the channel, the music, and the flying! Keep it up!

      Thanks Glenn! You have such a cool list of types in your logbook. Tango is jealous! The variety of things you can experience in aviation is what makes it truly awesome.

    I can't decide. It's like choosing luxury resort over camping. We like both. The Bonanza is my choice for when you want to share the passion with Mom and Dad! High and fast looked like such a blast, yet Low and slow, or however how ever you go....keep sharing

      this bonanza was swapped with a turboprop engine. they come from the factory with a piston engine that produces significantly less power

  • @Blaircraft.Engines
    @Blaircraft.Engines 4 года назад +2

    You want to get somewhere to see family, take the turboprop every time. Buzzing around and camping with a plane, leave the turboprop at home a take plane #2!

    I would have like to have seen the engine; know how it was installed, how much it cost, what were the issues, what were the performance benefits, why he chose a rolls royce vs another engine. What type of mission this plane is best.

  • @gorgly123

    If you can afford the turbine Bonanza you can afford a low and slow plane too. Need both.

    There is a PT6 STC for the Bo aswell. Turboprops and Beech are like peanut butter and jelly. They just go together. Rocket Engineering, 😆

    Nice video. Very relaxing vibe with the smooth music. That's a luxury ride right there!
    I took the 172 in and out of L35 in the summer once; not sure if I'd do it again. No problem for this plane though!
    Happy flying!

    • @TangoandJuliet
      @TangoandJuliet  3 года назад

      L35 is doable in almost any plane...on the right day! Density altitude gets dicey on summer days for sure. We took the Cessna 140 there a few times but usually on cool days during the winter

    Enjoyed your video,which brought back great memories of flying the B36T. You really need a traveling mission to be practical. N100TT was a business aircraft that flew about 300 hrs per year. I was lucky enough to be one of two pilots to fly our plane, and logged over 500 hrs in it. One thing you didn’t mention is how smooth and quiet it is in flight. Burns 28.5 gah of jet A on a typical mission. Unpressurized,so usually flew around 10 to 14 K.

    • @TangoandJuliet
      @TangoandJuliet  3 года назад

      Thanks for sharing those memories! You’re right, it was so smooth and quiet; like a magic carpet. A truly effective traveling tool and a wonderful experience!

    It's hard to hear them talk about flying slow and low because it sounds like both of those factors lead to their crash. They got too slow and stalled, and were too low to recover. RIP
