#64 Flying the A36 Bonanza to Pegasus Airpark in Arizona

- This week we took our A36 Bonanza that we have listed for sale and flew it to Pegasus Airpark (5AZ3) in Queen Creek, Arizona to introduce you to our friend John Panfil who is working on a new hangar development. Pegasus Airpark is a private airport community Southeast of Phoenix, AZ. Getting a hangar can be very challenging, especially in metropolitan areas. This is a great opportunity for people who are looking to park their airplane and have a fully customizable hangar in a up and coming neighborhood. The development in the area is clearly visible while we were on approach into Pegasus Airpark (7:35). Some say this Queen Creek is like a little version of Scottsdale. This could be a great winter getaway, a second home or a great opportunity for aircraft owners that are already in the Phoenix area.
This video is not sponsored. We were very interested in the development and wanted to share it with our audience.

Wish we had something like that here in Tucson. La Cholla is the only private airpark and they are mostly horse people now who don't care about aviation. On the other hand, Marana Regional NEEDS hangers badly!! I got one two years ago during the resurfacing project. When that was over I gave up the hanger. Changed my mind and decide to get another one later, and found the list was 60 people long!!!! Come to Marana and build some here! It is owned by the city of Marana, unfortunately.....
good project .. it's looking great .. thanks for sharing
Great cameo by you Rich in that recent Guttmiller video, I'm new to your videos in the last few months, really enjoy the diversity of aircraft you fly and your history lessons on those aircraft, cheers.
Thank you. We had a lot of fun. Appreciate the feedback on the videos!
Talk about hangar envy! Thanks Rich!! 😁
Looks like a nice place, and a chance of having your own hangar will appeal to many aircraft owners i would think. John seems like a nice friendly sort of guy. Thanks Rich
Nice! Flew over my house I live just outside Pegasus. I’m a new pilot and hoping to move into that neighborhood when prices come down.
Very nice Bonanza.
I live right around the corner from there! Always take a peak when I driver by, some really nice houses in there.
Beautiful view from 9500 feet above sea level
Looks like a pretty nice development . . .
Always enjoy the video's Rich! That sure is a statement that you've reached the top of your profession when you have a home with an airstrip for your plane. I can only dream.
Thank you for watching!
Good luck sir
Rich - enjoy watching your channel. I fly primarily in the Midwest, but, my aunt and her husband sold airplanes out of Long Beach for many years. Good memories.
Cool - what was their company?
@@FlyingwithRich Gene Simpson Aircraft Sales. I was pretty young but my recollection is a small building and ramp space in one corner of the field.
Very cool. Don’t recognize the name - I’ve been at Long Beach for 20 years.
$6.19 self-service at KVNY...
Some of us are old enough to know that’s really a Debonair. Bonanzas have a V tail.
Newer bonanzas have a conventional tail, the V-tail wasn’t in production for very long.
👍👍👍👍👍
As much as I like planes and all things aviation, it saddens me to see the farm ground being taken and covered with more concrete. We can't keep taking away farm ground and expect to grow enough food to feed everyone.
Good point!
Oh come on. We can always get our food from Russia and China...
Hi Rich. Are those Oakley Holbrooks you are wearing. They look great!
Nothing wrong with Queen Creek but it isn't in any way Scottsdale south. Its more like Peoria AZ east. There is some prime rib but but it's mostly flank steak. A lot of all rental neighborhoods.
The Pegasus Airpark is nice and my bet is it builds out fast and ends up being a great value for people that choose it. A bigger version of Stellar Airpark in Chandler with more modern amenities.
I live and fly out of Skyranch Carefree, just a few miles north. Come visit 👍🏻
I’m surprised you still have this A-36 Rich
You need to sell Matt a new plane and flip his Bonanza! Lol
thank you Rich for shaering this vedio actully it coms at the right time , looking for (homeport) at airport community to move to USA i am in oversees airline pilot FAA certified aiming to move back to us . thanks agine hope to meat with you in person.
Get in touch with John - he’s a great guy and I think Pegasus would be a great place to have a hangar.
Thanks for sharing Rich.
I’m a private pilot VFR and own a Cessna 172.
If you were to fly a 172 from El Paso TX to Montgomery Field MYF, what route would you take?
I was thinking about taking KTUS-E63-NYL-MYF.
Are you familiar with this route?
I was concerned about flying that close to the border.
Appreciate your comment and advice.
Depends to me on VFR or IFR. I would go VFR and probably El Paso, GBN, BZA, Calexico, KMYF. There is a lot of restricted airspace and of course the border to be aware - easy to avoid with avionics/iPad/ATC. It’s a cool flight. Have fun.
@@FlyingwithRich thanks for the advice.
What kind of mics are you using?
Rode Wireless Microphones
Is the runway IFR capable?
🌏🇦🇺
I just looked up airfield in ForeFlight. No approaches.
No but not many IFR days out there in Phoenix. Rains only 33 days / year out there on average.
@@FlyingwithRichwould it be difficult at an airport like this to get an RNAV. Even one with high ( think NDB numbers) minimums? I suspect that would take care of 80%+ of the IFR days. Most of the rest would be big thunder/dust storms which no one in their right mind wants to be flying light GA in.
No golf courses. Just desert.
A cool plane with a goofy name. I bet they intended to sell these planes to cattle barons and oil tycoons originally.
Only the wealthy can afford this Rich
Depends I guess on the definition of wealthy. By standards of wealth in some countries, if you have a car, you are considered “wealthy”.
Only the rich can afford this, Rich.
