  • I love an art kit, and today I'm sharing my minimal art kit that I take when travelling out and about as well as longer trips. It's a small kit, with a teeny tiny palette of just 8 watercolours and I'll be swatching those out with you as well.
    November 2023 update:
    I've had questions about the pencil case in this video so I've found out the links for you:

    Hey, do you know where you got the case?

      Hey Leah! Yeah, this one I ordered from the Dutch Amazon store, I couldn't find it at any art shops here in the Netherlands. This is the direct (non-affiliated) link to the same one on the UK Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/LIHIT-Smart-Compact-Pencil-A7687-11/dp/B01BD0GRVG/

    I have this pouch, as well as the one the next size up. I find that if I want to add watercolour pencils or a small palette, the next size up is handy. I literally love these pouches, and find them so handy!

      It's a great size isn't it? I recently adjusted it with a new palette and some travel brushes, so it's even more streamlined for me now. I haven't seen the bigger pushes though, will have to have a looks online!

    Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience is such a delightful way. I certainly had to subscribe and like. I am a retired gal who loves hiking (solo) so weight is more of a concern now then before and I am also brand new to drawing with graphite, coloured pencils, and water colour. I certainly made a ton of notes of which I will begin to incorporate into my own travel art kits for the car, overnight hikes, and day hikes. Well done.❤

      Oh, I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the videos! Less is definitely more when it comes to hiking, where every gram can feel quite weighty after a few hours... I hope you have fun working out what to take with you on your day hikes! 😘

    Love your video! Where did you find the eraser that looks like a mechanical pencil?

    • @eviedivadoodles
      @eviedivadoodles  10 месяцев назад

      Oh that's the Tomboy Mono eraser. I think I got it from my local art shop some time ago, but you can easily pick them up online too! They also sell the 'refills' so you can just top it up as needed! They come as square or round, I have both for different things.

    Love this kit. I use exactly the same case and recommend it. This might sound like a really ignorant question, but do you do anything special to get the paint into your mini palette? Is it just squeezed out from tubes?

    • @eviedivadoodles
      @eviedivadoodles  Год назад +2

      Hi Neal! It's such a fab case isn't it? Makes me really consider what I want to take with me instead of just throwing everything in a bag! Not at all ignorant - I didn't know until someone told me! - but that's basically it: I squeeze a little into individual pans, let them dry out (I cover mine as I have a cat and cat hair isn't a nice mix) and then when they're sticky but not moving about, I pop them into a palette. My top tip would be to just squeeze small amounts to start with. The first time I got watercolour paints in tubes, I filled the pans to the top, but found some of the colors I never actually used. With smaller amounts you can practise with those colors when out and about to see if they're really a good fit for your palette. :)

      @@eviedivadoodles thanks Evie, that’s really helpful. I’ve only bought pans in the past and have never worked with tube paint. That mini palette looks really handy so I might pick one up and give it a go 👍🏼

    Please, what's the sketchbooks on these video? Can anybody please share which ones are those? I';d really appreciate it. At least the first one, with the portrait orintation and the cream paper, which ones are these?

    • @eviedivadoodles
      @eviedivadoodles  6 месяцев назад +1

      They’re both hanamuhle sketchbooks! One is for watercolour paper, the other has more pages, at a lighter paper weight, for sketching. They’re approximately 15cm x 10cm! 😘

      What's the first one please?!! Do you remember which of the many they make it is? (the cream paper, not the watercolor one, the other!) Thank you very much!@@eviedivadoodles

      Sorry, can’t help the way I talk I’m afraid! RUclips does have a speed option (which I have used myself for other channels) where you can slow the speed down a bit. Though my brother actually speeds me up so he can get to my main point faster! 😆😆😆
