Yes, please do share a mixing video! I’m a big fan of the fude pen thanks to you! I especially loved your tip on having several water brushes in the kit to not waste your water. Brilliant!
I love how you actually showed using your kit. a lot of people show their different art kits but never how they use them and wish they would in a process piece.
In that case you’re going to go nuts for the next thing: when someone buys my special SketchPocket it comes with a link to a video showing how to use everything, with lots of examples.
Love, love , love this!!!! Shows your experience and knowledge of the best materials and supplies. I finally understand the value of the sailor fude pen. Thank you!!!
Thank you ❤ I'm happy that I found you at RUclips channel. I'am from Germany and I already bought your wonderful book some years before. Let's Start to sketch🎉-
I painted your kit in my sketchbook today. My Dream Kit. Got the magnets today also. Love them! What I need are the particular paints and fountain pens with more ink colors. Thanks for making it sound doable and giving specifics.
Just found your channel. I really enjoy your voiceover commentary! I watched this, your color mixing and palette videos. I love your palette of 13...I was watching it and thinking "that would be a oerfect palette if it had quin rose or magenta added" and...ta da! 😂 I really, REALLY like that there are 3 greens in this palette. I live in the pacific northwest of the US and am surrounded by forests and I really don't enjoy mixing my greens from scratch... Maybe I haven't found it, but I'd love a video focused on the fude pen a bit more (trying to wrap my head around how I get thin lines with that nib...are you holding it "upside down?").
@@tdelphia1 thanks so much for your lovely words…I love that you love my 13 colours! I thought very hard about them and would have loved to have 12 like everyone else but - what could I do? There’s a video on fude…it’s black and white. Has a Japanese guy in the thumbnail! Let me know what you think!
Reporting back to say, my Jinhao Mako pens with fude nibs got here (I couldn’t find the one you recommended, but I figured as long as I’m trying out a new nib, why not a pen shaped like a shark?) and I’m having a blast playing with them so thank you for that.
I thought why not spoil myself with a lovely set of these natural Roman Szmal paints using a Xmas Gift Card.....so I did! I am in New South Wales, Australia and was able to purchase them through Jacksons Art in South Australia. (hope you don't mind me mentioning Jacksons). I thought the pans would be super expensive but was really pleasantly surprised! Would love to watch your additional video on mixing these yummy colours. Thanks Roisin! Always a treat to watch your channel.
Well I do mind but since your comment is so nice I’ll allow it! Enjoy your beautiful paints. Since we’re advertising now, I’ll add that when you buy Roman Szmal paints from me, you get a free extra pan and my expertise on colour choices - and a free class from my website!
My sincere apologies Roisin - I did not mean to detract from any of your sales. I should have explained myself better. I would have loved to have bought from your store but my xmas "Gift Card" is not accepted internationally so I found out. I even had trouble spending it online interstate! After a phone call, I was lucky enough to have it processed through their system, something to do with different banks & systems...all very confusing. Love all your videos!
No worries at all - I have the opposite problem, of keeping enough Roman Szmal in stock for everyone that wants them. Every time I advertise them they run out the door because they’re such great paints. I hope you enjoy yours 😊
Its been a few weeks since xmas and my birthday so I am ready to treat myself to some art supplies 😏 looking forward to the release as this all looks perfect for me! And yes, mixing vid would be perfect please. The info you gave on skin colours was really useful to me so would love to know more relating to these colours in particular 🙌
Buonasera Rosin from Italy! Loved this video and can’t wait to see your color mixing one as I happen to be setting up my palette these days! I have a question: I finally bought a Sailor Fude 55 after watching so many of your videos and seeing the incredible line variation. I’ve been playing with it these last few days but I can’t get a fine smooth line like yours when using the nib upside down. I just get a very faint, skippy line that’s more of an indentation on paper rather than a real line. Ink does not flow at all. I’m using R&K Lotte as you. Is there any trick or special work to be done on the pen? Does it only work at a specific angle or positioning the nib in a specific way? Please help! Grazie mille! 🙏 Valentina
Make sure the paper is quite smooth. The Lotte clogs the pen - that was my first time using it, in the video, and my pen won’t write smoothly now! Use one of the other colours I suggest in my other videos. I love the de Atramentis Document Brown. Mixing video coming very soon!
Thanks for your fabulous and instructive video. I’m yet to try a Fude pen as I’m left handed. Does anyone know if it will work for me, please? I did order one from China, a while ago, paid but didn’t receive, so was put off trying again! I’m in Australia.
@@vickityrrell9252 that’s very annoying. That’s never happened to me and I live in Ireland so you’ll probably be safe enough. Lots of my students are left-handed and use fude pens. I think it’s as easy or as tricky as a leftie using any fountain pen.
I can’t remember but I’ll update you when I’m on my studio. It was very well reviewed and then I was extremely disappointed when the colour was really weak. Then my son fiddled with the settings and it became amazing after that.
@@timothy790110 at last I have found the comment to answer you! It's an Epson Perfection V600 Photo but remember what I said about the settings - very weird and unimpressive scans until my son sorted it out for me. No idea what he did but it only took him a minute.
You should take the time to clean your pen, I did that recently and it made a big difference. You’ll find loads of info online, but it’s very easy and fast. Good luck!

That’s very sweet of you!
Sure, I'd love to see a color mixing video... thanks!

We do not necessarily need a lot of supplies in watercolor. What you show is basically all you need. Less is more.
Wait till you see all the colours you can mix from them!
Great video, yes please to creating a mixing video too.

This one is already a while on RUclips, but like it a lot. Nice basic information which is great when you start. I like your work.
Thank you. I must do a video of the basic kit “plus” - I bring the same stuff, but multiples of some of the items.
Nice kit. I especially like that you've included 2 ink colors. I would love to see how you use your palette for mixing.
