    I used to work as an Engineer at FCA and over the years I have had the opportunity to test drive all Hellcat/Red Eye products and can confirm whatever Steve talks about around 3:14.The first time I drove the Charger Hellcat on FCA’s proving grounds, I stepped on the gas and immediately hit my head against the headrest. I was not expecting power to kick in the way it did, but it was exhilarating!
    Steve - absolutely love your videos, been a subscriber for more than 5 years now. Your videos are to the point and very informative, no fluff whatsoever. You definitely deserve more subscribers!

      That is so awesome! Love hearing from an actual engineer with the company! Glad you can verify how insane the acceleration is. And thank you so much for your kind words. Much appreciated.

    Would love to have a Hellcat but my kids were against it, I'm 86 and wanted one 2 years ago so l went out and bought a Charger Scat Pack, not as fast but lots of fun for half the price. One other feature, gas mileage of 16 to 18 city and over 25 on the road and l don't baby it either. Best car l have ever owned.

    Best charger exterior / interior / alloy color combination I've seen so far.

    ALWAYS love your reviews (especially because of your vernacular to describe the experience)!
    I’ve always owned Japanese luxury imports but NEED that power and “the last of the NA v8s” before they disappear, so my plan to purchase a Gold Rush-colored Hellcat within a year has kept me truly excited. I decided to ignore the luxurious accoutrement I’m used to for all that power. It’s just way too captivating by way of dollar:hp! LOL

    Every single word said in this review is the reason why I absolutely love the charger, and why dodge is my favorite brand ever, since de 60s doing crazy irrational 💩 like that. Oh my good I miss the viper tho. Viper, Challenger and charger my definition of paradise

    The mere existence of this car tortures me. I usually want the smallest car I can get away with (I had a mini and currently drive one of the smallest available 3-rows, a Kia Sorento), and try to be fuel efficient (I have a Kia Niro EV).
    Yet, seven years ago my wife had an accident in her Jetta SportWagen TDI. The car was in the shop for a month. They were out of midsize rentals, so they gave me the most base trim, mildewy-smelling Charger ever. It was my 45th birthday.
    I usually hate dark interiors, and this one’s was mercilessly black.
    I loved every darn minute in that stupid car. I felt like Leroy Jethro Gibbs. It was well laid out inside. It was fast. It was smooth. It was gorgeous. It was huge in a wonderful way I hadn’t experienced in decades. Even the vastness of the trunk made me joyful. The fuel thirst isn’t cute, but I got past it. My wife HATED it. I didn’t care. I thought she was gonna hit me on the snout with a rolled-up newspaper when I told her how much I loved it. Usually I like sleepers, but you can be sure I’d leave that Hellcat badge on there for those who know.
    I often go configure one on the Chrysler website (or treat myself to a virtual Jeep Trackhawk). Reassuring to know I still have the beast in me, down not quite so deep! Thanks for bringing us along for this ride, as always, Steve!

      Great story! Thanks for sharing that. It's true; it doesn't fit most of our lifestyles yet if given the chance to drive one it'll suck you in...yet remain a fantasy in the end.

    I’m curious what Chrysler / Dodge says when you return its car with 40 to 50% less tread on the rear tires? Do they expect it?

    • @stevehammes
      @stevehammes  2 года назад

      Yes. They’re cool with it, at least in a car like this.

    I Love The Fact That “Stelantis” Is Giving Us These Future Collectors But, I Am So Tired Of Seeing This Body Style That They Could Offer 1,100HP & I Still Wouldn’t Be Interested! This Is The Same 2011 With 2015 Body Updates! This Is Not A Mercedes S-Class Lol
