Dodge Charger isnt that a Chellenger. Charger was GM. And the Hellcat is actually the Demon with 4 inches added to each side to make it a Hellcat but a Hell Cat is a Dodge Challenger. So this guy is telling u about the right car wrong Name. I no mine cost me 94,000

707 horsepower, 196 top speed for $80,000. You can't get that from any other factory stock car in the world. Sure Mercedes and BMW might be faster but they're also $120,000+

European car brands have demonstrated multiple times that they have no idea (or simply dont give a shit) to make a proper car for the average person. Europe makes nothing that competes with the Charger. 4 door V8 sedan starting around $40K. Take your pick, for the same price, let that be any price, the US brands simply kick the ass of Eurobrands in all performance, quality, maintenance. People here buy hatchbacks or compact SUVs for the most part. And with the fuel cost here, your 40-50k muscle car actually needs to compare to a 70k Benz due tot he massive difference in efficiency. (And we do calculate cost of ownership before buying a car)

I actually think the front and rear of the Charger looks amazing, especially on the Hellcat. Also, I would really love to see Mat drag race the Charger Hellcat against the Mercedes E63 S, BMW M5 Comp, and the Audi RS7 Performance or Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Damn, this is a beautiful car. I don't think I mind the interior too much as others are pointing out. The leather and stitching looks pretty good as well as the instrument cluster. That's all that really matters, and the 700 hp. I think I'm in love.

Seats are designed for men, not for a tiny skinny English boy. I'm 6'2 250 and only car with more comfy seats for me is S class Merc.

There's something endearing about American cars like this. Cheap interiors, handling that's okay at best but with massive horsepower. It's so irrational to like something like this and yet I absolutely love it!

You have maybe automatic windows or heated seats (heated seats are a 50% doubt because this car wouldn’t be in snow because it is American)

Had an SRT (not hellcat) version one of these in the States this year and it is a genuine beast. That car has around 300bhp less than this and that still sounded amazing and went like stink, I’d love this car. Great review too Mat

Good review Mat, but I wouldn't say forced induction with a turbo is free energy, as each cilinder needs to work a bit extra during the exhaust stroke to overcome increased pressure drop over the turbine, but compared to a supercharger definitely

There is no way I couldn't subscribe. More than the cars in the reviews. This guy is the best.
It's based on a 2005 Dodge which is itself based on a late 90's Mercedes W210. In fact I can confirm after hiring a SRT model it handled just like my 1999 E300 Turbodiesel and has the same classic foot pedal brake! True they were hoping to upgrade by using the Alfa Giulia platform but that turned out to be too small to fit the huge V8's. So good job FCA for giving us a decent muscle car in a classic Mercedes soul!

M5 is far more luxurious, faster, can go around corners etc. You get what you pay for
M50B25 Turbo yes! It would be interesting to race this Hellcat and M5 from 100 to 200kmh, I wonder who would be faster

The only thing the Hellcat has on the M5 is a far lower price point,
And that's about it.
Don't forget you can't buy these in the UK unless you have the money to import these so M3 owners won't have to worry about coming up against these very often
The chassis actually dates back to 1995 as the LX platform is based on the W210 E-Class
Saw one in person the other day... they do look fantastic with that wide body...

I drove one of these for a couple of years and recently sold it. Our friends from the UK came over and fell in love with it. It is an awesome machine overall. It can handle but it's not nimble due to the footprint and weight. I'm replacing it with a Tesla on order.

People fail to realize that if u want a 707 horsepower Benz or BMW or anything, will cost you $100,000+. This car is unbelievable for the price tag. They buy it for the power. Not the dashboard plastic
Performance to price the Germans can't match it. It's cheaper on the inside to make the vehicle more accessible for more people.

It is a very tricky engine not too much people knows about. This 707hp motor is not made in USA, it is actually made in Mexico (cheaper handwork) that's why you get this price. Also the engineering is inherited from 2002-2008 age when Daimler bought Chrysler, so prints, machines, tolerances, manufacturing standards are Daimler's (Mercedes Benz).
So it is a very nice combo: German engineering with good/price/quality balance of manufacture in Mexico in an American muscle body.
Damn one my favorite muscle car forever, i would like to say these muscle cars looking good and aggressive. Please i want to see a drag race from this car.
