I want to thank you for the outstanding tutorials. I had not painted since the mid '70's (Acrylic enamels, imron, etc). Started building projects again and when I was quoted $8-10K for a paint job thought not only no but hell no. I'm fortunate to own a manufacturing business so I have the ability to have all the tools and facility I need. But painting was something I never learned properly. I've watched and re-watched your videos and then gone right to the shop and used what I learned. I've done a few panels twice (oops) but overall I'm really pleased with my progress. My current project looks awesome for an amateur paint job. Mostly it is the body work / prep that I thought was good but turned out not to be once I put base down. So much is different now - and the paints are insanely expensive. I can say without reservation that your videos have been instrumental in my gaining the confidence to take on whatever comes in terms of paint. Many thanks.

Thin your paint a bit more and turn the flow down to about 75% what you're running until you get used to it.
Also try to find discard and mismixed paints at your local paint store. Go in often, make friends and soon you can get free paint to practice with.
It's all about time with the paintgun in your hand.

@@DONERIGHTKUSTOMS What happens is, newer painters try to achieve full coverage too quickly. So I FIRST remove 25% of his paint, THEN yes, thin it out so the coat edges flow together QUICKER. He'll see the result of build-up sooner this way.
I'm not trying to band-aid his work, I'm trying to help him understand relationship between flow (the kind from the gun) and flow (the kind that the paint particles do on the surface).

I love this channel even though I was in the Body and Repair Shop in the '60's for about 4 years. I was overwhelmed at the changes in technology in tools, guns, compressors and paint. I tried to paint the deck and hood of my 2008 Honda Accord Royal Blue Pearl and Eastwood 2K Clear Coat. The entire spray job in a hot garage last month it looked like sandpaper from the Dupli-Color OEM paint cans. I think I would rather use two guns and don't know which to buy. It would be a family car set. Is LVLP or HPHV better. How big would the compressor need to be. I have only 110v electricity in the garage. No heat or air it's detached. Thank you!!!!

I unfortunately just had my truck keyed from the front fender all the way down too the middle of my truck bed yesterday by someone with a screwdriver. I painted the whole truck last fall after taking 11 weeks to take every panel, and bed off to do a frame up paint job. My question to you is, would you just repaint the whole side or just the scraches which goes down to the primer.
