Yes!! The eyes are by far the most important feature in aesthetics of the face and one that can not be changed (bone wise ) as you say here. Great video !
They can, you just need to try hard to find a surgeon

Big fan of your channel Lorry! 💖
I mean technically you can increase or decrease eye spacing with orbital box osteotomy and increase decrease palberal fissue lenght with lateral rim osteotomy.
@Journeyto159 Who asked? She didn’t say it was the only one you couldn’t change
Rihanna and Kate Moss has wide-set eyes, Ariana Grande has close-set eyes . People's attractiveness should be evaluate holistacally.
It's really hard to give "ought-to" statements in esthetics
And i got slightly bigger nose than average but i'm considered attractive.
@@Moesie because you look average.
Ariana's eyes are not particularly attractive. Rihanna and Kate Moss's are. I would say Ariana would be more attractive if her eyes were slightly further apart. She's attractive for other reasons, not for her eyes.
@@dailybls Ariana's eyes particularly attractive. Her eyes have slightly positive canthal tilt, dilated pupils, laterally elongated, horizantally wide(they makes her facial expression innocent and feminine), minimal scleral show, clear eye area, curvy, rounded shaped. Eye distance is not the solid aesthetic looking detail on eye beauty.
This video was made for me. I am mixed black, and slavic/white and have beady & wideset eyes. People pointed it out all the time in the past. Personally I think makeup can help unlike stated in the video. I draw my eyes closer together by drawing an inner flick "reverse cat eyes". I also draw the outer corners of my mouth further out to balance it -because I want my mouth corners to line up with my pupils. Additionally, I draw my eyebrows closer together. I find that that helped a lot and people comment on it less.
You are absolutely correct that makeup can make difference. Thumbs up.
I agree, although makeup isn't going to physically move your eyes, the style of make up can definitely either enhance or minimize eye spacing. It can also make your eyes appear wider or deeper set depending on the eye shadowing
You are extremely attractive

That would be color theory technically, because you got factors like eye color, skin tones and such

Hmm those pale skinned girls love dying their hair black lol

This channel really gets to every single little detail on facial aesthetics fascinating channel I think my eye spacing is fairly normal not too wide and not too close set I get compliments on my eyes and never thought my eyes were anything special I have dark brown eyes but over time I learned it was just because of my eye shape.
I always noticed women with wider set eyes for some reason still looked good but the men didn't, I really wanted to figure out why my brain innately gave the women way more slack for this versus the men. Thanks for clearing that up. Good vid.
Its like that for all defects in women
@@YourNameYourSoul Not necessarily. Large, wide noses for example look fine and sometimes good on men but look terrible on women. They need to have small noses, regardless of shape.
Wider set eyes are a neotenous trait,it appears more feminine and gives off a more ethereal look like Anya Taylor joy,Miranda Kerr,Kate Moss
That's not always true though. Sometimes even on women it gives a bit "dumb" expression. Reminds me a bit of goats. Of course in media we generally see beautiful woman so even the wide set are extremely beautiful. But there are male celebrities with wide set eyes like Jamie Campbell Bower and Jonathan Rhys Mayers it gives them a quite unique look but certainly not unattractive.
Also Vincent Cassel and Robert Pattinson
When I was younger I used to be so insecure about my wide set eyes and then people started comparing me to Anya Taylor joy and complimenting on my eyes thank you so much for this video it makes me feel so much better
I feel like the inner corner fox eye eyeliner may work for wide set eyes. As a woman with close set eyes, i never do that makeup because it makes me eyes look very close to my nose bridge.
Thats so true
My eyes are quite far apart I used to hate it but now I like it, makes me unique

Can you help us understand how eye brows can help to perceive this distance differently?
i agree with this video, except for the fact that we can't change wide-set eyes with makeup and surgery.
many east asian cut their epicanthal fold to make their eyes look bigger, and closer to each other.
But since I can't have surgery I just draw an inner corner. it actually makes a difference. try it guys. :)
I don't know why but your profile pic of no face with wide set eyes killed me.
@@chelseaoocandy HAHAHAHA
Another reason why I feel eyes are so easy to notice due to the the contrast because of how they stand out compared to the rest of the face aswell. Also due to the fact that during conversation, you naturally gravitate to eye contact so you can see any "peculiarities."
It's worth noting that most past beauty standards didn't prioritize wider eye spacing as much. You can tell by looking at celebrities from only two decades ago. It's a trend.
Examples?
Wrong. Look at paintings.
@@ellcally508 There are so many paintings from so many eras depicting so many different beauty standards fluctuating between cultures. The Mona Lisa and many other classical paintings space the eyes pretty evenly. Older Byzantine and medieval European paintings often put eyes unusually close together.
The thumbnail made me laugh so had I came here to congratulate you on the creativity!
Finally a video that explains it!!
3:55 You got it wrong. The "golden" number given in that article (46%) is INTEROCULAR distance to face width, not the way you show here. I just cant realize wtf is wrong with numbers, until i measure it the right way in the article itself. Sorry for my english though.

good point that part made no sense to me, probably superficial reading on his part
You are correct. At 3:55 the diagram should have shown a red line demonstrating the distance from pupil to pupil, that is what the 46% is referring to. Not the distance between the inner eye corners.

My ES ratio is around 49% I think. It seems to suit my face more, and I've seen gorgeous male models with eye spacing like mine. I've read online that larger, wider male skulls are more suited to slightly wider spacing
@Harshit Dhiman distance between the eyes themselves is intercanthal distance. Usually both IPD and intercanthal width go hand in hand depending on eye size. For e.g. I have very very slightly wide set eyes, so between my eyes (nose bridge area) if I fit an eyes width in between I have a little space left over
Not too much though. I think I have nice eyes and people usually comment it's my most striking feature.

@@nomoys
Did you find something?
I have very close-set almond eyes (as a woman) and always get compliments for them. i wonder if people stare at them because they look ugly but instead of insulting me, they make a compliment. in general, I feel like scientifically speaking, I´m not beautiful but people treat me as if I was very pretty (conventionally attractive guys hit on me, people treat me very well, etc). I´m so confused
This is why I found the Q&A episode of the "Qoves Deep Dive" podcast so interesting. It seemed like Simon could not decide which feature has the biggest effect on your attractiveness: the eyes or, the jawline.
Ethan Peck who plays Spock on "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is a perfect example. His jawline, chin and, even cheekbones are all God level BUT, his eyes cause his looks to decrease greatly. So ultimately I think they are both equally the biggest features that influence attractiveness-however, I recognize that who ever wrote the question was probably only able to afford one major plastic surgery which is why they wanted Qoves to list one facial feature as being most important.
So if I had to list the facial features that affect beauty in order of importance: #1. Eyes 2. Jawline 3. Chin 4. Cheekbones 5. Nose 6. Hairline...
I agree with the list
I think I'd add skin quality. A healthy glowing complexion can really halo the whole face.
I've checked him out but he have neither a God leveled jawline nor cheekbones at all. He doesn't even have a compact mid face. Also his eye shape is not aesthetic. He has negative canthal tilt eyes and eyebrows. Saying each one of the feautures in his face are perfect but the only problem is eye distance is completely wrong.
I just looked up Ethan Peck. He's exceptionally good looking, although I agree those wide set, downward turning eyes do detract from his looks. The thing is, that feature differentiates him and makes him stand out and be recognizable, which is great for a celebrity, and could potentially even be good for a regular person who has overall good features. When I see a photo of him again, I'll say "oh, that's Ethan Peck" even though I don't follow pop culture and never saw him perform in anything.
i think the nose should be higher tbh. if the nose doesnt fit the face, because its either too wide or too short etc. i feel like it greatly decreases attractiveness and changes the whole vibe of a face.
honestly I never noticed anya taylor joys eyes were far apart. I watched her in so many shows/movies and only noticed when I saw a reddit post about it.
I always thought Shannen Doherty was really pretty back in the day, then someone said to me "one of her eyes is like an inch lower than the other" and once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. I can't believe I never noticed it until someone pointed it out to me. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned here, that if someone doesn't call attention to flaws, there's a chance people won't notice. It's one thing with celebrities, they signed up for the job and it comes with the territory of being a celebrity. With people we know IRL it's probably best to be kind and not mention.
The first thing came to my mind is Rumi from “perfect blue” movie lol she even defeated Sid from ice age
Wideset eyes are such a beautiful feature.
Not on men
Not on me

I always thought my eyes were quite close together. But the thing is, I have a super, super wide nose bridge and my eyes look averagely spaced even with that, if I’m being more objective. So if I had a normal or narrow nose, I would probably look pretty wide-eye spaced. Odd to think about honestly
Quite the opposite actually. If the too of your nose bridge was thinner, your eyes would look even more close set than they are.
A wide nose bridge gives the illusion of wider set eyes.
@@ninalou4629 wait, but there’d be more space between my eyes if they stayed where they were but my nose bridge narrowed. How would that make me look more close-eyed
I would say it's the opposite. I'm SEasian. My IPD is 33mm, average for my ethnicity. I have a very thin and high nose bridge which casts a shadow around the inner corner of my eyes and it makes my eyes look a bit close set.
@@shirin9452 wider nose bridges tends to be more flat and does not cast as much of a shadow to the inner corners of the eye compared to a tall thin nose bridge. Look up pictures of nose contours before and after online and you'll see what I mean.

ur kinda wrong on how it can not be changed with makeup. Although you quite literally cannot change the spacing there are is an illusion effect that can definitely make half the difference. Some things that can be done whether to make eyes closer is to contour the nose bridge where your eyes meet, having closer eyebrows, and put eye makeup focusing on the inner corners. This works because it basically fills up empty space that people notice. The opposite technique can be used if eyes are too close

Almost perfect. Your eyes fit in the ideal esr and between .9-1.01 eyes apart.
I've got somewhat similar proportions, but I definitely have "close set eyes." 25 mm between my inner eye corners. Interpupillary 57 mm, bizygomatic cheekbone to cheekbone 125 mm, giving me a nearly "perfect" ES of .456. However, my eye width is 30 mm (female) which makes my eyes .83 eye width apart, which is quite below normal proportion and is definitely "close set eyes." I was always self conscious of it; yet no one ever commented on my close set eyes. I got a lot of comments "you have such big eyes!" in a complimentary way. I do believe that a below average distance between eyes can be aesthetically pleasing in some cases, and in your case, like the previous commenter said, you have the perfect proportion for inner eye distance / eye width ratio.
