    i usually agree with most of what's said on here but the bit about men cheating less if their female partner is scientifically attractive seems highly questionable. How many beautiful female celebrities have been cheated on, and even everyday people. If a man's gonna cheat, he'll cheat.

      There is actually a Ted-Talk on this very subject ( Well not specifically on celebrities but, on men marrying beautiful woman).
      What was not mentioned is that the woman has to be more beautiful than the man. Which is why so many male celebrities cheat on a female celebrities because most of them are within the same level of attractiveness.

      Yeah correlation doesn't always mean the cause. He said there is a correlation between how attractive the spouse is and husband being more faithful to attractive women. But you can't rlly measure how faithful a man can be to his wife just based on attractiveness. So if you want more information u should read the study and draw ur own conclusion.

      Also you can still be attractive but have a hard time being sociable. Like my brother for example, he’s very above average in terms of looks but has absolutely 0 social skills or sense of humor. I would love to see a video on how/why younger people are attracted to older people. Not necessarily the "daddy issues" thing but more how they are perceived in terms of beauty, admiration, age, maturity, etc. For instance, I'm attracted to older men who are in their 30s more so than guys in my own age range (late teens-early 20s) but why?

    • @udontevenwannaknowbruv
      @udontevenwannaknowbruv Год назад +21

      Probably because you seek a partner who seems more protective and you relate better with emotionally mature men. Men your age aren’t in that headspace yet. And you want a partner who has the same values as you which aren’t found in most guys your age.
      Other people might argue that it’s about a man’s assets making him more attractive like wether he has a well paying job, his own house and how much money he has. But I disagree, the guy I was interested in when I was 22 was a 31-year old restaurant owner who was massively in debt and lived with his parents but I was purely attracted to his personality, the way he treated others and especially his mom, his outlook on life and similar sense of humor.

    • @user-bx8sj6qm3w
      @user-bx8sj6qm3w Год назад +20

      I experience the same thing with both men and women. I find men and women in their 30s more attractive than people in my age. To me it's because they actually look like a adults, because you know, they're adults, and I'm one as well. While people my age look too young, almost like children. And people my age are still going through puberty so they don't look their best yet, while people in their 30s have finished so and look their best. While I'm 30 as well, I kinda look older than my peers, so much so that other students in my university and security staff think I'm a lecturer and say "good morning/hi professor" and get out of my way when I walk down a hall thinking I'm on my way to give a lecture 💀 but point is because I look older than people around me, I like people who look older as well. But in general as long as someone looks physically mature and adult anf good looking ofcourse, I'll find them attractive whether they're 20 or 30.

While my measurements fall at the 0.7 (thanks to butt projection), I unfortunately I have more of a straight body type. So from the front view my waist to hip ratio does not appear to be the attractive curvy hourglass body type. Instead this could be more accurately calculated by taking a front facing image of yourself and measuring the wait to hip ratio based on diameter.

      Yes. I am very very done being told all women are fat. No. What women are is healthier. Women now have increased in size not just because of obesity. That can be an issue, but actually muscle weighs more than fat so weight is a bit of a bad metric. Measurements for women now just make me frustrated. You can check out this issue as a woman if you look at your hip bones and just measure that. Take a tape measure and measure the straight line you have from hip bone joint to hip bone joint. Suddenly you realize your literal skeleton is being deemed bad and fat because ignoring any flesh you would still be a bigger pant size than acceptable. Nutrition is an issue also because from 1900s to now women put on a lot of height probably due to that improving. Thus people grew wider, taller, larger. And people might say but the 90s should have had that all fixed. I find that untruthful because we are still wrestling with trying to do nutrition and diet well. I would not at all be surprised if some things took until the 90s to fix but just aren't as conveniently tracked like weight or height.

    There's 3 most important things of beauty that are the most important in this life it's 1. The Importance of looks and by looks I don't mean things that can be easily changed like Hairstyle and clothes 2. The sense of beauty is objective, universal, and innate in humans even a day old baby can determine a good looking and an ugly face and 3. Anything that you can easily change regarding your looks doesn't matter that much because it doesn't signal genetic quality and everyone will do it which reduces it's exclusiveness coefficient

Like people like Madison beer and Kendall Jenner struggle with anxiety and self esteem issues and even Bella hadid is always crying on her story .. I think the issue with this is actually anxiety in attractive people is seen as stuck up, aloof, rude/Bitchy or disinterested rather than what it is .. anxiety. so I need more of a clear definition on those things.

Again like QOVES said, averageness is attractive. However in the U.S gaps are not as common and we have a society obsessed with perfect teeth. There’s this trash Reddit where people rate beauty , and what I’ve noticed they are only rating higher with what in trend today (Barbie nose, short Philtrom , fox eyes and big lips)
    They also don’t understand that even if someone has all the perfect features it doesn’t mean they will automatically be a 9.
    I was just looking at photo of Karen mulder in the 90s and my gosh she was gorgeous, she doesn’t have the Barbie nose , hers is a bit bigger but I can’t even imagine how boring she would look if we took away her natural nose.
    Yes people having specific likes is a thing, but when everyone is brainwashed with tv and media , at that point those very people have no right to judge because they are incapable of judging to begin with.
    I do believe that regardless of “preference “ if you aren’t refined enough mentally or in understanding beauty then your opinion doesn’t even matter.
    I believe beauty is an art and should be studied (as you are doing) those who pick a liking simply because it’s on trend have absolutely no taste and lack class.

      Please don't worry about it! I know 18 feels like you're grown now etc, but you literally JUST left childhood (according to the law, scientifically your brain and body are still growing and developing). Looking young and being checked at 18 is super super normal, I cannot stress that enough. Give it a few years and that's all. There's nothing you need to "fix", there's nothing immature or wrong about you. You just look around your age, which IS very close to pre teens, and therefore people need to check you to be sure.

    Maybe if you are American you might want to opt for hysical sunscreen but just know that most physical sunscreen has chemical filters anyway but they are just not fda approved so aren't listed as an active ingredient. This is because its really difficult to achieve a high spf otherwise.

    I'm mixed race with light golden brown skin and black hair, I'd say 95% of the time i had much more attention than my blonde counterparts when we'd go out, but if both women are caucasian and 1 is blonde and the other is brunette, then perhaps the blonde would be more likely to get the attention, on the other hand, if the brunette has blue eyes and tan skin, she's the winner across the board! Lol

    Have any of the studies to date on attractiveness been measured in conjunction with future time perspective?
    Thought this may be a useful metric to include, as at least anecdotally, women often consider ‘potential’ (accuracy of the estimate aside lol), are likely to have more exposure to, and experience of, interventions and lifestyle factors affecting appearance, have a greater eye for detail (fashion, style, makeup etc is a form of social communication), so I guess I would be interested in knowing if women are making evaluations across time when evaluating physical appearance for both men and women? And also if the reverse of this may also be true, with men only assessing for a single snapshot in time when evaluating appearance?....
    Basically asking the age-old question of how many tabs are open on the computer when undertaking the task of evaluating attractiveness?
    I guess there are many feature that look amazing in youth that don’t exactly age well, and interventions and lifestyle factors that take time to develop, have a positive impact in the present with a known future risk (eg, filler migration, tanning, crash diets/medications) or even have a future positive effect but present diminishing affect (eg, sunscreen doesn’t give the greatest appearance to skin tone). I think it would be interesting to see what exactly people were accounting for when judging appearance

      They're sunscreens that rely on mineral ingredients such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. We call them "physical" because they work physically, reflecting sun rays. Chemical ingredients work differently, absorbing sun rays.
      Physical sunscreens are proven to be more effective and safe. The drawback is that they're heavier and less comfortable to wear, and usually leave a white cast on skin.
