    As a Korean-American, I know all too well about Korean beauty standards. I’m not surprised Song Hye Kyo is featured in this video. Admittedly, I follow her on IG. She has an ethereal beauty about her, at least in my opinion. Though I envy numerous Korean celebrities, I would never have plastic surgery, injections, or anything invasive. I prefer to stick with diet, exercise, skincare and cosmetics. Though I know I’ll never look like a K-pop or K-drama star, it’s not my job to look like one either.

You have the right idea, keep living a healthy life and it'll be so much better for you in the long run, definitely more so than people who are praised so much for their looks now and would therefore go to any dangerous lengths (e.g. surgery, filler, etc) to keep them

I have thick low set eyebrows, defined (low fat and masculine) jawline and small (ig) almond shaped eyes. (And my jaw appears dominant tp my cheekbones from lower angle, but my cheekbones are surely more feminine). It's especially interesting how everyone think my eyes are my most attractive feature. I'm just wondering does this mean i should dye my eyebrows brown, since they are blondish and grayish while my hair is brown.

    Thick eyebrows do not look good on every woman and even if they are thicker, women feminize them by tapering the ends, groom them etc. Some ethnicities have finer hair and would look hilarious with (forced) thick brows. With a lighter coloration and finer hair brows appear thiner and softer by nature and is in harmony with the overall look and not a flaw. Beauty is not a trend and "classic" icons like Marilyn Monroe ore nineties supermodels are still admired for their beauty. Maybe they just found out what works for their faces, I cannot imagine Pamela Anderson with thick eyebrows for example. I never heard men say when they talk about a woman they find attractive "Yeah she has these thick masculine eyebrows and a strong jaw. amazing..." When a woman has a good bone structure it is still a feminine bone structure and a significator for health. When women in bodybuilding take steroids their faces become highly masculinized and they lose their beauty. Women are butchering their faces out of their body dysmorphia with things like buccal fat removal to get a "robust face" and this shows that masculine features in women are preferred?! This is more a sign to seek therapy to be honest and does not make any sense.

    • @exysness
      @exysness 8 месяцев назад

      Haha quite true. I think women are so scared to be feminine, because femininity implies natural vulnerability, that they would rather fill their jawline full of juviderm and chop off their breasts. The trans trend and the overmasculisation of beauty trends seem to have a lot in common. I like beautiful faces that are unique and not follow trends. Most celebs get the same procedures and look more and more uniform.

    It varies based on ethnicity and your ethnic origin. Some ethnicities have stronger jaws, stronger jawlines, and some ethnicities have weaker jaws and weaker jaws.
    We should not apply Hollywood Beauty Standard to other cultures. Majority of other cultures are not the same and every culture is different. All cultures have different characteristics of finding them more attractive.
    Beauty is subjective. From what I notice from the opposite of Western Beauty Trends and beauty standards, it means that Eastern Beauty Standard in Southeast Asia and East Asia has more a emphasis on hyper feminine features such as weaker jawlines and v-shape angular chins means there would be more emphasis on sexual dimorphism on exaggerating the feminine preexisting features on a female to make it look more innocent, cute, and more girlish.
    That is majority of Asian women going through these types of changes, especially when it comes to fitting the ancient beauty standards in each East Asian and Southeast country..

    It seems obsessive to me to go through the trouble of changing the shape of one's eyes. Now women can actually get cosmetic procedures done to change round eyes into upturned "cat-shaped" eyes??? That's SAD some females can't just accept what facial features they inherited and just make the best of it!!

    With eyebrows, aren't there competing interests?
    1. Males generalaly have thicker eyebrows than women. (i.e. it's a sexually dimorphic trait.)
    2. Women's eyebrows get thinner as they age.
    So couldn't it be that finding (somewhat) thicker eyebrows on women attractive is about selecting for youth IN SPITE OF the dimorphism?

    I'm looking for it all over your channel... but you seem to give a very cursory mention of the philtrum to lip/chin ratio. To me that is a huge decider on attractiveness and youthfulness. And not just me but it's basically a necessity for top models. You see older people get a lip lift and that alone makes a massive improvement. And yet you focus on everything about the mouth area except that. Really odd given this channels objective.

    Soo many things that are being said on this channel are completely false. Clearly this guy hasn't learned how to interpret studies and he doesn't know how that you should always name the first author listed of a scientific paper. He doesn't mention that in the study about the eyebrow positioning, the subjects all judged the high eyebrow type to be more attractive. Please don't believe everything this guy says, he's very biased.

    • @kateschmate
      @kateschmate 8 месяцев назад +4

      Lifted eyebrows does NOT have an aging effect, it's the exact opposite. If you know a little bit about human anatomy, you know that when we age the skin becomes less elastic and is starting to sag down. That's why older people have lower eyebrows compared to when they were younger. I can't believe he is saying such nonsense, at least when it comes to eyebrows on women.
