well its not about opinion its about taste and what you find attractive. I completely agree and would never do anything to my face even though i dont like everything about it. But there are women who just think they look more attractive and in reality they look ridiculous. But its all about perception. 😂😂😂

I feel like a lot of people in their twenties forget that our faces aren't "finished" yet. Most of us are probably gonna look drastically different when we hit our thirties, and like Dr. Chan says, gain some contour naturally. My mom for example had a very plump face all throughout her twenties, but now in her fifties she has the most insanely sharp cheekbones, and looks amazing! I guess what I'm trying to say is to be patient with your looks? Idk

Bless this man - He's good enough to tell us. In years to come, this can cause problems with the nerves in the face, paralysis of one side or one part of the face, and other horrible things. WHY risk it. If we're not gorgeous - So what?? MOST of the world isn't - Build up your personality, not your FACE - Be comfortable in the skin you're in - It was meant for Yoooo!! How many people do we know who have a pretty/handsome face but are such a put off - Personality comes through!! Kind, caring, funny, good natured all these make up for good looks, any day!! Also, when we're young we don't realize how good looking we are. Save a picture you don't like and look at it when you age - You'll see what I mean. This filler stuff is nuts - UNnecessary!! Be good to your body, it's the only one you've got, and you need it to last. Hurt it, & it will retaliate - Better believe it!! Fillers - Seriously?? Not worth the risk!! Health is wealth, so work on being well, because that's a blessing!!

Since a couple of months ive been noticing them more and more but i dont want to get anything done about my face because its my canvas of life. But its quite hard to not feel insecure about it.
When you google: Are laugh lines beautifull the only thing that pops up are plastic surgeons. That shit bothers me alot because they create unrealisitic beauty standards and they profit of insecurities of people. And i understand you help the people get rid of their insecurity but you create them for the others by helping that person. I just wanted to see some positive points about getting/having wrinkles but the only thing i found was how to get rid of them. The stigma around wrinkles is so misplaced at the moment and i am waiting for the revolution were everyone is considered beatifull just the way they are/age.
Sorry for the long comment but im just really fed up with this. Don't get it wrong i respect you for not filling up faces anymore but i just think the beauty standards that are created cause unnecessary distress for alot of people.

We ONLY did work for reconstruction patients, post cancer, injury, and bariatric surgery. I'm so glad our doctors were very conservative. Generally I cannot agree more. Overfilled faces look ridiculous. The reason people are satisfied with their overfilled looks is probably because they were over-focused on their wrinkles and just having those filled up makes them so happy that the do not even see how inflated they look.
However not everyone has naturally beautiful fat distribution in the face. I look bettet when I am borderline underweight than in thr middle of the normal range. Therefore I rathet have resonable amounts of filler on my cheekbones instead of gaining weight on my lower cheeks.

Personally I have found that my skin thinning too much makes a bigger impact on my under eye hollows than the age loss in localized fat (I weigh more than when I was a teen, it's just in my butt and thighs) because I would have looked better if the skin just didn't become so paper thin and easily showing the blod vessels underneath. Less babyface isn't bad, but skin health decline usually is a problem. ...You may want to make sure your diet becomes more supportive of your (skin) health too if you are older, like all the right amino acids and minerals and such.

I am skinny/underweight but i have an oval babyface, you know what i like it ! I don't have the instagramable features and i am more than happy with that. In this day and age everyone looks the same and that is wrong on so many levels, we should all celebrate difference and diversity, love yourself people 🧡

Perfect example is Kylie Jenner. The fillers worked at first, as they all seemingly do, but after years of routine injections, her face got much chubbier over time! She’s still beautiful in my opinion, but a chubby face is clearly the end point/ long term effects of these procedures.

This is so true. I worked with a woman in her 60s who was attractive, despite a few wrinkles. She was excited to show me a photo of how she used to look so pretty (in her opinion) as people said she looked like Liz Taylor as a young woman. I was expecting to see a stunning woman in the photo but my thought was that she looks better now as she has great cheek bones. I wish I'd told her that but at the time I didn't want to offend her as she was clearly so proud of how she'd looked in her youth.

Next time, don’t hesitate to tell someone they look great now. You would have made her feel good. She’s living in the past and is not getting the attention (or compliments) she used to get. It would have made her feel better about how she looks now❤️.

The opening line - yes!! I get botox but not filler. I am 34, size 8 and have a small head. Getting filler would make my proportions look strange. I just don't understand why people get so much filler when all it does is make your face look bigger , fluffier. Ive lost facial volume but my jaw line looks more defined and I like how my face looks so much better with this loss of volume.

100%. It's not that I didn't like the way I looked when I was younger, but in my 30s my cheekbones are much more prominent and weirdly I seem to actually look younger now than I did with more facial volume as a kid. I didn't start to get a properly 'adult' face until my mid-twenties, and it's still a work in progress. I notice people who have a lot of cosmetic work in their 20s seem to look prematurely aged, if anything.

Best advice ever! Thank you, Dr. Chan. If you're underweight and you want a fuller face, gain weight. If you're overweight and you want a more contoured face, lose weight. The natural way is always more difficult, so we look for the easy way out through a pill, a needle, or surgery. Of course, every woman should be free to choose what they want to do without judgment. The goal is to be able to move confidently in the world without shame or lack of confidence.

same issue with kylie jenner, her nasolabial folds have become so prominent and she heavily photoshops them in her photos but her paparazzi photos really show how they look, she stages most of her paparazzi photos but when they aren’t staged, you’ll definitely see.

I am so glad I watched this video. I've been contemplating getting fillers because my jawline is sagging. But after my 5th Botox filler in my forehead last Saturday I still have terrible bruising (this is the first time I've bruised like this) and now thinking that'll be my last injection. I'm 52 and wish I could just embrace aging naturally. I always said I would until about 4 years ago when I started noticing the forehead lines and my jawline dropping. Your video just popped into my feed and I will take that as a sign! Thank you!

I stopped Botox after several years and now I feel like my forehead wrinkles are so much worse (but it’s probably just the contrast of having been “smooth” for so long). I am trying to accept aging, but I have also learned that there are natural ways to take care of your skin and facial structure that can help you look and feel better - gua sha and face yoga. They are natural and gradual and gentle and chemical free methods which we in the West are often too impatient to look into.

As someone who gets filler for my excessively hollow under eyes, I'm inclined to agree. I've had many doctors try to upsell me on cheek, chin, and even temple filler because my face had always been slim (even in my teens, the undereyes were a problem then too). And yet when you look at models and movie stars most of them have these slim faces, it makes no sense to me why I'd want to ruin that.
