Still don’t understand how this album didn’t get the love it deserved when it came out. It is a masterpiece.
I think a lot of people, including metalheads do not give Bruce's solo stuff a chance because they assume it would just be an inferior Maiden copy paste job when in reality it's nothing like that. Although Bruce's voice in Maiden is iconic I would say his last three solo albums are his peak vocal performance. Not just screaming high notes but singing with more power and more feel.

I also vaguely remember some Maiden fans not giving Bruce’s solo work any consideration because they didn’t like that he left. I can only imagine what kind of storm there would have been if todays social media was in place in the 90s.
Agreed. I was waving the flag back then, screaming about how awesome the albums were. I saw Bruce perform live during the Accident of Birth tour and got to meet him after. Such a nice, very humble guy. I even got to have a beer with Adrian, who is incredible. Everyone at the concert left shell-shocked by how epic it was. Bruce sounded better live than he did in the albums.

Sorry, man, but what happened was exacly the opposite: this album was nomitaded "Album of the Year" for many, many magazines whem it was released. And I remember very cleary the fans telling how better his solo stuff was compared to Maiden at the time...
Bruce's solo albums are some of the best albums ever. Hopefully more people discover these masterpieces. And yes, this is one of the best songs ever.
The Ferocity in his voice is the best ever..., unreal..., nobody in the history of hard music can sing like this...., simple

Yes this song is easily my favorite of any of Bruce's solo career. The riffs are kickass, chorus is catchy, solos are incredible, the drums are goddamn amazing, and Bruce's amazing singing. Also the last part is just epic with the big catchy "By dawning of the dead!" 🤟

Steve wont let it happen. But Bruce and Adrian played some Maiden tunes in that solo period and they sounded great.
The album before this one (Accident of Birth) is a heavy as this one but with more speed. Hope you react to it after this one.

You should try Accident of birth next,which I consider as good as this album. The other albums he has are from alright to good,but this 2 albums are masterpieces(along with tyrany of souls,his latest solo album,almost as good as this one and accident of birth)

Great reaction and hilarious comments :D book of thel, jerusalem and trumpets of jericho are my top 3 off of this album, jerusalem being my favourite. So beautiful and grows all the way to the end and Bruces vocals are perfect. Nice to watch these videos and see someone get same feelings as me some 23 years ago. Please do at least Accident of birth and Tyranny of souls.
One of the best solo songs by Bruce Dickinson... there is a live album 'Scream for me Brazil' released in 1999 by Bruce Dickinson from this tour w/ this band - Adrian Smith & Roy Z (guitars), Eddie Casillas (bass ) and Dave Ingraham (drums) - they were once in the band called Tribe of Gypsies, which Roy Z still performs w/...
One of the reasons this record underperformed was because in 1998, heavy metal was pretty much banished from the mainstream, and indie labels like CMC International, Metal Blade, Mayhem Records, Century Media, Roadrunner Records... were left to market metal music in N. America... CMC handled both Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson, but they didn't have the financial resources to push their roster on MTV or radio... Judas Priest, Saxon, Accept... all released albums on CMC in the 90's... but the only metal bands selling records substantially in '98 were Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer, & Soulfly.
Iron Maiden has never performed any solo material outside of Maiden - it was also impractical... too many Maiden songs to be considered playing live... Bruce Dickinson has performed some of Blaze Bayley's Maiden songs.
Rob Halford of Judas Priest only performs his solo material (along w/ some Priest songs) w/ Halford, but refused to sing any 'Ripper' Owens' Priest songs.
This is in my top 10 albums of all time.

Yes! As I mentioned before, the tower live is killing and the book of Thel is f*king amazing live. You have to check the live Dickinson’s album “Scream for me Brazil”, it has all of the best songs in a single killing show! I fortunately could check this live performance in person, thanks god! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
And finally ✌🏽😁 the narrator is none other than Arthur Brown. He was one of the originals Shock Rock with the song Fire in 1968. Bruce said many times that when he meet Arthur thank him because use some of Arthur stuff on his own performance

Maiden haven’t played any of his solo stuff. However… Bring your daughter to the slaughter and If eternety should fail (off book of souls) were both originally Dickinson solo songs.👍🏻 Check out scream for me brazil for live versions.

Great, great song. Speed and melodic…both guitars and vocal delivery. The bass during the pre-chorus is Harris-like.
Hey buddy, brutal song for sure, I love the passion in your reaction. I’m gonna stick my neck out and guess that band you were referring to, influenced by this full metal sound is Opeth?... the heavier parts (noting their instrumental music is pretty amazing too). Either way, I reckon there’s a legion of bands who’ve taken a few lessons from Bruce and IM generally.
A little trick. When you hear the solos Roy Z will fast pick and Adrian will use more legatos with or without a wah. That way you will learn to tell then apart.
By now Adrian's solos should be pretty recognizable to him...the other solo will be Roy's (another tip is that Roy's playing is more similar to Dave Murray's)
@@alexandre_am les arpegios more fast picking. But yes. For me i liked Tyranny of Souls but dont feel Adrian style would fit that album since Roy tracked both guitars he made that album much heavier.
The only solo Bruce song that Maiden ever played live was Bring your daughter to the slaughter which Bruce wrote for the Nightmare on Elm Street 4 soundtrack.Steve Harris liked it so much they recorded with Iron Maiden and of course put it on No prayer for the dying

Maiden has never performed any band member's solo material, either live or as a B-side from a single. I'm guessing Harris would never go for it. I've also never heard him asked the question. If they ever did it, my choice would be Jerusalem.
Jerusalem lyrically is right up Harris’ alley honestly. If I hadn’t known already and you told me it was a Maiden tune that Harris wrote all the lyrics for, I’d believe it.
