This song is amazing. Bruce's singing is just relentlessly high and agressive throughout the verse and the you get this wonderful chorus with G major vibes - the repeat at the end always gives me goose bumps. The intro is such a mood as well. And, it brings back the Chemical Wedding towards the end. It's a masterpiece and, as you said, the perfect way to end the album.
You’ll observe, when you (very hopefully) listen to Tyranny of Souls, that the album fades in with the same kind of guitar effects that The Alchemist fades out with. The last time I made a CD compilation of Bruce’s solo stuff for riding around in my truck, I cross-faded the two pieces so it would play like one mega-track of The Alchemist and Abduction (from Tyranny). “And all this vegetable world appeared on my right foot as a bright sandal, formed immortal of precious stones and gold. I stooped down and bound it on, to walk forward through eternity.” God bless ya, Bruce.
The first album with Blaze is a such obscure, but it isn’t a bad album. It’s indeed because Harris had just missed his father, RIP, so they are darkest compositions. But overall they are good songs, different of virtual eleven in which there are several weak and repetitive compositions. Looking forward your opinion about. 🤘🏼
There are two more must hear Bruce Dickinson Solo Albums, The one before this one - Accident of Birth and also Tyranny of Souls…. You’re gonna fucking LOVE that one.
I never remember wanting to listen to a song from this album, its either the whole thing or not, I even had a hard time matching the songs to the titles because of that. This is a heavy metal AUDIO BOOK! Deserves more love.
Masterpiece, no more comments!. There are still 3 bonus tracks to listen to: Return of the King" (Dickinson, Smith), "Real World" (Dickinson, Z) and "Confeos". These are just as amazing as the regular tracks on the album. See ya!
Starting the Blaze era, I know it will be difficult, but the ideal is to listen without trying to compare the vocal with Bruce. There are several good songs, enjoy the ride!
Yeah, the last three songs are from the expanded edition release. Return of the King at least somewhat sounds like the album. But you can tell why Real World is a b-side that didn't make it although it's not a bad song. Confeos is very different, very Deep Purple like. Bruce is a huge fan. Accident of Birth next!
Hurm. By pass the last 3 songs from this album. Go right to Accident of Birth, then Tyranny of Souls. Do yourself a favor (and us, your fans) no Blaze we Iron Maiden. I can count on one hand all the songs that may go on a playlist and none of those are great songs. No… not even The Sign of the Cross.
Now go back to Bruce Albums in order from Tattooed Millionaire, Balls To Picasso, Skunkworks, Accident of Birth and Tyranny of Souls. You will hear and expirience Bruce evolution and you will amazed. Trust the music
there's another song called Eternal that was released in Japan only. amazing song. keep up. Tattoed Milionaire next. you have to check the evolution like in Maiden
I recall in the fall of 1995, getting a copy of 'The X Factor' by Iron Maiden and excited to hear what this new singer Blaze Bayley sounded like... The dual album cover was gruesome and I love it! Eddie being vivisected on one cover... and electrocuted on the other. I put on the CD and the first track was 'Sign of the cross'... and it was a looong intro complete w/ choir chants & keyboards... and then the voice subtly comes in as the instruments start... bass... drums... guitar... and then it kicks in w/ Blaze Bayley belting out the song. Whoa... this is definitely not like Bruce Dickinson. Still, 'Sign of the cross' is an epic Maiden song... Bruce Dickinson has sung it live and he sounds almost identical to Bayley's vocal delivery. It's a tough track to pull off vocally...
Try not to give too much weight on others opinions about the Blaze era. Just listen the songs and have fun and don't compare Blazes voice to Bruces. Looking forward for your reactions.
It’s hard not to. Bruce is so much better than Blaze. It’s like the old argument - Paul or Bruce? Bruce is a much better vocalist than Paul but the music carried Maiden. Blaze is not suited to song Maiden. Paul had more range than Blaze.
X Factor starts strong (first 4) but then fades quite a bit and gets gloomy (Harris personal life at a low point due to father dying, divorce, maybe a few other things). It's not a horrible album, but it's not memorable. Blaze isn't Bruce, and I think even he sensed he wasn't a great fit for a lot of their catalog. Like with DiAnno, Steve realized he could only get so far musically with Blaze, and it wasn't nearly far enough.

Great ending to a great album. I love the reprise of Chemical Wedding! Hard to choose a fav and hard to choose a least fav.
Yep a touch of 7th son with the opening and closing loop. Appropriate as they’re both timeless classics.

Love how they put Chemical Wedding licks into this one at the tale of a 4/4
An amazing album! 💥 One of the best ever made. 🔥🤘😁🤘🔥

Masterpiece. The best metal album of the 90s by far.

I agree, hard to pick a favorite, . So I choose all on this killer album, love it more than some iron maiden albums. It's heavy,, great review

Naw. Blaze is not good for Maidens sound. Ever.

This album is just art
Did somebody catch that QW last sound is Tiranny of Souls Intro ?
the best on the record imo
I may be the only one who wishes bruce didn't get back with maiden. And I love maiden

Another good song. I'd have to choose The Tower would be my pick as my favorite. An overall good album.
The Book of Thel, Jerusalem, the Trumpets of Jericho, The Tower…man this is difficult.
@@troywilkinson160The title track too, amazing. Just a classic album all the way through.

That's from Tyranny Of Souls
@@alexandre_am my mistake, you are correct of course.

Book of Thel edges out the others for me …but it was close and went to penalties 😉 (for the fellow football/soccer fans)
Ich liebe dieses Lied ❤️

There was an error with the video, it is not playing...
It works on my end and others have watched it. Maybe try again in a few minutes?
@@hurm1t974 Now i got it... 🤘🏻
Four days waiting for X-factor... until then, no like for your channel 😉😂
