Easily the best priced V-12 WW-II fighter available in the world today. Rebuilt using a Yak-11 wing with a new-build Yak-3 fuselage. Completed to be light and as simple as possible, it is powered by an Allison V-1710-111 with a Ham Std. propeller to provide the lowest maintenance engine/prop combination for a V-12 fighter. Airframe/engine/prop, less than 50 hours since overhaul. One owner, last 19 years, always hangared.

Just saw one this year at the Reno Air Races it was an incredible airplane and ahead of 4 p-51s in the race I was watching it's really a neat plane and flew so close to the ground
Як-3 мой любимый истребитель времен второй мировой, и лучший из них. Куплю не смотря на цену. К сожалению, в этом самолете от Як-3 ничего нет. К сожалению, на 1991 год не осталось ни одного целого оригинального Як-3, нигде.

My fatt finger stumbled...!!! 😱Being built as a small,light wt , fast climbing defensive interceptor it sacrificed long range and high altitude performance to achieve that...!!! Apples and Oranges...!!! Both are awesome airplanes both have different attributes...!!! The Klimov (nee Hispano Suiza) is about as technically sophisticated as the Allison V1710 and a perfect match for the YAK...!!! Down low, nothing could match the Yak !!! But, Me 109s and FW190s , Spitfires,and Mustangs could “ambush”

Уже после войны над одним из американских аэродромов был проведён учебный бой между ЯК-3 и почти всеми американскими и английскими истребителями. Там были Спитфайеры, Мустанги, Темпесты, Тандерболты. Як-3 выиграл все бои. После этого учебного боя американское командование назвало ЯК-3 "королём истребителей".

The single seater is is a hangar, minus most of its right wing - something to do with hitting an 8-ton cherry picker parked too close to the landing strip at the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show...
Update: I got my ride in May. Fantastic! The hottest hot rod I ever rode in. I'm still buzzing.

What's the difference between a Yak 3 and a Yak 9?
Larrikins54 The engine and a turbocharger system, the nose intake on the nose of the yak9 doesn't exist on the yak3, and the radiator intake under the yak3 is bigger than the yak9, some aerodynamic improvements, in real life the yak3 was made lighter and it could carry a bit more armament, an extra machine gun or cannons. The cockpit is also longer and bigger but it doesn't have the armoured glass that the yak 9 had, to make it lighter. Overall, the yak3 is a lighter and more modern variant of the yak 9, it's more maneuverable and faster.

There is no metal binding in the front part of the glass hood of the YAK-3 cabin. The YAK-9 has such a binding. Also, the YAK-9 has an elongated rear part of the cabin.
Is this seriously the cheapest? How much are in stock? Regardless of laws, is it possible to militarize it again? If so, how? (I only wanna know because, I plan on.... starting my own country. This would be a good fighter plane for it. By the way, don't lecture me on this dream of mine)
It's the cheapest because all Yak 3 are modern reproductions, and use a (relative) cheap engine...

Kevin Koeberling that’s true, no yak-3 aircraft flying today have the original VK-107 because its an unreliable engine. This also means that they also aren’t as powerful as the original WW2 aircraft, which is a shame.
@@patrick-bp4en wrong: 90% from the Yak 3 use the Klimov 105 ~1400HP version , not the Klimov 107 who was fast discontinued because too unreliable

If you look at these Yaks you can see the P51 Mustang in them!! Russia Copied a lot of Stuff over the years! However the German pilots were warned not to Dog Fight the Yak 3's!

Yak-3 is a final model of lightweight Yaks, starting from Yak-1. Yak-1 was Alexander Yakovlev's original design, based on his previous sport planes.
Yak-1: first flight - january 1940
P-51: first flight - october 26th 1940

Now days it would be insulting and non American for anyone flying one of these junkyard planes in the United States of America. Most these guys are want to be fighter pilots. Take it from a real fighter pilot from the Air Force that flew F-4’s and F-16’s.
The plane is beautiful, glorifying Stalin and Leventri Beria and their victims is not. Can you imagine selling a FW-190 A-8 or an ME-109-G-6 and having a beautiful blonde dress up like a Luftwaffe girl. Then showing pictures of Hitler and Goering. The politically correct idiots would have a shit fit. Personally I would rather own a Kawasaki KI-61b Tony or a Nakajima KI-43 model 3 Oscar. I could avoid the politically correct crapola.

The yak 3 was probably the best russian fighter of WW2. Fast, agile and deadly in competent hands. The luftwaffe learned real fast not to F**k with this little fighter in a turning dogfight cuz it would outturn both the 109 and Fw190 .
