I like this matchup. The refit of the most powerful ship of a previous era meets a tactical loadout of a upper-middle grade ship from the next. It feels like how a previous generation high end video card is often equal to an upper-middle class card from the latest generation.
I like that just before you took out the sovereign, it got some final licks in with those quantums. Seems pretty even, but the Big E is always going to be my favourite
I like this battle. Honestly, I would've loved to see at least one image of the E-E on STP, as a bit of a teaser. Honestly, this is a very realistic battle. Well done!
So I was counting and it looks like Duderstadt fires 3 quantum + 7 photon torpedoes from the front and 4 photons from the rear; whereas Sovereign shoots 4 quantum + 8 photon from the front and 8 photons from the rear. It does seem like Duderstadt's sheilds are slightly more resilient against Sovereign's weapons and her torpedoes reload faster, while Sovereign appers to have a greater HP pool, so in terms of being able to damage each other they appear to be pretty evenly matched. I'd say Sovereign is a bit more tanky and Duderstadt is a bit more punchy, so it would mostly come down to the playstyle you prefer. (I'm an "offence is the best defense" kind of guy; Duderstadt's the ship for me)
Looked like AI Sovereign wasn't much interested in using torpedoes and didn't get enough forward attacks to break the hull. I imagine two decades of upgrades would favor the Sovereign, but they could perhaps field twice as many of the smaller vessels. From looking at the parade fleet, Sovereign are available/built in modest numbers due to the loss at Mars. Other designs may be getting higher priority. The newer medium ships are almost as powerful, yet much cheaper builds with smaller crew needs. Then, there's the large Ross, Sutherland, Inquiry, and huge Odyssey. Each of these is probably as powerful, of not much more so.
They looked like you had the same outcome with both ships. Except I saw you ramp up the power settings on the Duderstadt and not the Sovereign, so I’d give it to the Sovereign.
#RetroBadgerGaming....🤔😲That was like you said evenly matched.. did not think that at first, the Duderstadt.. wow.. even the name.. was able to defend itself against the Ent E... and like other times, it's all whom is at the helm.. Well done Captain on both battles.. I would say.. hmm the Ent E.. tough and the new ship .. is tough but needs something not sure.. like the design, for a war ship, I thought would be other weapons, not just quantums.. hmm.. hard to say.. but loved the battle Captain, as always..!!! 😊🖖 ***"Duderstadt" Means... You are strong in material matters, determined and stubborn. You have good business ability. You are a good worker, … 🤔😳just saying!!!
Cool! Thanks for the translation, didn’t know it meant that 🖖. I agree, the Enterprise E is the winner. In a 1 on 1 it’s more powerful. Maybe that’s a good thing? Haha. 🖖
The Sovereign still has some use in it imo. Wonder if we'll see a 25th century upgraded version. Also I agree that the Intrepid looks like it was based on the Akula variant of the Akyazi Class perimeter action ship. Neo-Akyazi perhaps?
The Sovereign was a dreadnaught in 2375, so even after 25 years, even if they never did a proper mid-life refit, it would still probably be rated as a battlecruiser or heavy cruiser. A proper refit though, say in 2395, would keep it in the capital ship class. Lord Badger, I think it would be cool if someone built a "Sovereign 2395" refit mod. Even if the Sovereign was only equipped with the new 25th Century photons it would have wrecked the Duderstadt much sooner, to say nothing of the new phasers.
The Funny thing about the Duderstadt class is that this one I can really see it as a Luna Class Refit (basically place the Luna upsidw-down and move the deflector a bit down on a separated reactor area)
Well the Tactical Duderstadt is a pursuit vessel. Meant to take lots of pain to a ship that fully expects an encounter. It should be able to take down a twenty year old powerhouse like the EE. The 1701-E is the old flagship, she just might be able to dish out enough punishment to destroy a lighter class vessel even if it has more advanced defenses.
The Sovereign refit seems to be more powerful with a human user. In the 1st battle, you said the warp core blowing took down the side shields. If you rewatch the 1st battle It was the final spread of quantum’s that took down the side shields. Team sovereign by at least 10 % morepowerful
@@LukewarmEnthusiast Largely because the sovereign is still a cracking design and the Nu-Trek ships look shit. 😂 But really, outside of the finale plot armour and the Shriek's sudden vulnerability, the Titan spent the majority of the season semi-crippled and seemingly without any sort of system redundancy or even anyone who knew how to fix critical parts of the ship. Accepting the standard lack of decent technobabble and some lazy writing, the Titan only ever seems frail.
i think that the duderstadit should fired more torpedo vollies bcouse it has ten torpeodo tubes with 4 in the neck and 4 on the stardive sec on both sides of the defector dish and two aft.
(RUclips once again acting up, saying it's Star Trek Online) I've noticed you are using Remastered more frequently - is this because the mod is more developed now?
Indeed! That, and it’s way way more stable. I do miss some features from kobayashimaru though. RUclips is definitely having some issues at the moment! 🖖
Is there any reason why the Soveriegn could not be continuously upgraded for a looong time like the Excelsior? I'd like to see it whooop the copy+paste ship in canon, for instance, or better yet the Disc***** for lolz...similarly for the Lakota. There is something very cool about Refined Old defeating Shiny New..
I personally hate that whole generation of ships, they all seemed like such a backwards step compared to the previous generation, taking inspiration from the TOS designs, and in the series we saw no sign of quantum's, so I assume this 'tactical' refit of the class is made up by a modder, but that said, the looks and cannon of the ships aside, I think the power level is about right, a ship of the line from 20 years ago vs a mid tier ship of current should be fairly even with a slight edge to the Enterprise E... as it should. I'd like to know, given the Odyssey class was already on its way out at that timeline, what the ship of the line of that era was. From the fleet view, the Odyssey seemed to be the biggest still.
Glad to see the Sovereign still kicking butt and taking names.
The Sovereign class is not only the best looking ship it can still hold it's own.
I like this matchup. The refit of the most powerful ship of a previous era meets a tactical loadout of a upper-middle grade ship from the next. It feels like how a previous generation high end video card is often equal to an upper-middle class card from the latest generation.
I'm biased and proud of it! I LOVE THE E!

Thanks 🖖. Totally agree. It would have been nice to just see the E, even if it was just for a few seconds.
You were much more generous with torpedos on the E than the computer. Great battles!
[stands at attention] Sir! Major Battle! Sir! [salutes] 😛

Why does AI always seem to be unable to bring their nose around so they can bring their main weapons to bear?
Das Duderstadt is wunderbar! 🇩🇪
Ich wusste nicht, dass du Deutsch sprichst! lol!!!!🤔
That was a really really amazing video The Sovereign class is still a really really amazing Starship & always will be
Nice Battle!
Impressive to take out a Sovereign!

just had a thought, what about the NX-01-A dauntless from voyager?
how'd that handle the duderstadt?
Glad to see that the Sovereign won the second time. I agree that the Sovereign leads the Duderstadt a bit better.

For a 30 year old space frame Sovereign hung in there with the new kids and show them a thing or two.
Put it up against the Titan A
Have we done Sov vs Neo Constitution?

I think it just equally matched. It just got lucky
The user is a better tactical officer than the computer.
Yeees, there it is
Like the new ship it looks like a T6 version of the pioneer class from star trek online TOS
Given what we saw of the Titan, I'd expect most of the STP S3 new designs to fold like wet toast in a hurricane faced with a Sovereign refit!

@@RetroBadgerGaming (coming to KM) tachyon beam which drops shields by a customizabl beam and ustomizable time, and Borg adaptability...
They are roughly comparable. However, the edge goes to the Enterprise E.
hello interesting video but where does this game come from ?
GOG sell it!

Can it take on the Scimitar??
When a video from STO? i'm NtavielSTO78 in game, maybe some TFO or team mission? I also have a lot of knowledge of the game.
The winner is the one with a *Badger On it*

Very much agree on design. Space frame, nacelles, lack of quantum's, lack of ability to fire a significant volley of photons even.
Sovereign definitely more powerful!
Duderstadt A with modern tech anyone?
The Duderstadt was launched in 2397 while the Sovereign Refit was shown in 2379 so 18 years more advanced
AI sovereign just wasn't interested in this fight. Constantly showing you it's bum.
theres nothing i like about this class of ship everything about it is ugly
