I love it! I can see this warship attaching itself to a mobile fortress. I am really sick of the protruding nacelle designs. Federation needs to take a page from Terran Empire design ideas, have fortresses patrol boarders; not science vessels with pistols attached.
Were you inspired by the Darkstar? If so, can we get an AI driven Quantum Torpedo with whom we can talk about the purpose of life and the meaning of existence, or else he´s gonna blow the ship up?
My God...I LOVE IT. No separate Saucer, no Nacelles! It's a single arrowhead design and I'm absolutely enamored, Starfleet should be SO MUCH more like this.
I really like it because at some point the Federation transitioned from the nacelled designs we're used to, to the more "triangular" ships from the far future such as the Wells Class (Such as the USS Relativity time ship from the 29th century). I'd like to time the Adder is a very, very early concept into that kind of triangular design.
#RetroBadgerGaming... I love the fly bye , that ship is beautiful.. I want one.. lol.. 😍blimey! Well done Captain.. again.. what a battle... yes the Ent F is strong but this ship .. I think my new favorite.. love the design, looks like a large Delta Flyer.. hope it has slipstream ouff... just ad a cloak.. and oh boy.. !!! that was impressive battle.. very nice Captain.. love to see the ship up against others.. just to see.. hmm.. well done! 😊🖖
It does look like a squished Star Destroyer. It's cool the bridge is on deck 2. Reminds me of the Defiant. This ship also reminds me of the ship from the movie Flight Of The Navigator.
@@RetroBadgerGaming yeah it stretched out very similar to how this is stretched out in front. I was born in 1981 so I watched the movie a lot growing up as well. It remains a favorite of mine to this day.
I could see a class like this being developed along the same line of thinking as the Defiant class except a larger version of that same methodology. Something easy and quick to build that required less time and resources than a full fledged modular dual hull design like what we are used to seeing in the Starfleet. I'd like to see a Dreadnought class of this war-era variant.
Battle was about 90secs longer than it needed to be. Whilst your skills have improved from the early days you STILL fight in 2 dimensions. A number of phaser arrays would have been added by rolling the ship. You need to remember Q and E are part of your flight controls too....
Excellent, utterly original design! I hope to see stories structured around this battleship class. I would like to know more about its naval architecture such as its dimensions.
should've tried it the other way around too. With you manning the Enterprise - F just to see if they're so closely matched that it was down to "the crew" that made the difference.
The Adder is an excellent tactical design. I have never really liked the idea of nacelles so vital to the ship sticking out so unprotected. It leaves Federation and Klingon ships somewhat vulnerable. The few positive aspects of Cardassian ship design is the protection of the warp nacelles by bringing them closer to the ship and giving them substantial support by burying them within the structure of the ship. This design philosophy is reflected in the Defiant Class. Moreover, the shape of the Adder presents some advantages in battle, namely its flatness. It allows for the captain to present the minimal aspect of the ship when attacking with the primary weapon systems of the ship: the torpedo launchers. This is IMMENSELY important because we know well the weakness of several Federation ships that present large aspects when turned to fire torpedoes, like the Galaxy Class, that can often result in the disabling of the forward torpedo launcher. The more minimal aspects the better because it is simply harder to hit the target as one notices. The F's torpedoes were constantly missing because this ship presents a tiny target when facing fore, aft and from either laterally from port, starboard. And, honestly, its maximum aspect from either dorsal or ventral are no bigger than any other Federation design. An outstanding design for a Federation warship.
there are rules as to why star fleet ships are made the way they are, could they do more to protect vulnerable parts more, acourse there's always room for improvement. Though the federation have on average better power sources and shields on average than most powers in they usually deal with so old design practices stick, also the bigger a ship is the smaller of a target the federation bridges are usually. be different if you were talking about the ships the size of connies or smaller, those are HUGE targets on the bigger later ships those are not only the most armored areas they are usually too small to cause real damage with torpedoes since federation ships have decent speed and maneuverability. Also the bridges dont scream HIT me as much as star destroyers or klingon ships do, now those are definetly some issues.
The shape of this ship kind of looks like a squashed version of the Dauntless. But I get the a little bit of the Intrepid Saucer in there too. And you said this ship has a heavily modified shield generator from the Galaxy line. Good upcycling opportunity with all the Galaxy ships retiring after the Dominion war. No wonder she's so durable. Adder is a very appropriate name. Smol, but packing a devastating offense.
The adder class remind me one my ship drawing it was heavy cruiser when i find what did with my drawing i tell you more about it i haven't seen it in years
One notes, Lord Badger, that this ship presents such minimal aspect from most angles, that it is a champ at evasion with even little effort. By simply waggling the ship a little, you made the F miss a lot of torpedo shots. Clearly, this ship is best at running laterally with its side presented to the enemy when waiting on torpedo reloads and then only turning when the torps are reloaded. Even a minor course correction when the enemy torpedoes were incoming was enough to make them miss. This is the ultimate torpedo dodger.
Please do another video featuring this ! This ship design is really interesting and it seems a lot like the defiant style design just taken to the next level of evolution I think this is where Starfleet ships would have evolved anyway talking everything an internalizing them and becoming more arrowhead-shaped it wouldn't be far-fetched to think that this would probably be equipped with a slipstream drive
i like this ship a lot, its clear from even tng (picard) multi targeting at any one time was possible long before the F, it should be available on many other models than just select especially on refits to the dominion wars
I really like this design, it’s not offering up any vulnerability due to any appendages that could be targeted and damaged and resulting in a loss of a critical advantage during battle. A perfect example is the loss of a warp nacelle from a well delivered torpedo! And therefore the loss of the fight ..
I was unawares about the 29th century time travel designs. Also the other designs mentioned. It seems there is more creativity going on in the gaming world then the live action Star Trek! I wonder what Vic Mignona could do with this new material?
Greetings Retro. I have The Adder class for Kobayashi Maru but the game crash during the test drive. I will have to go back and give her a shot again. So some people are upset because she looks like a star destroyer? Actually she could pass off for a Mon Calamari ship due to her design shape.
@@RetroBadgerGaming so an old trick with this game when you can't warp is to launch a shuttle at the beginning of the battle. If things get rough just intercept the shuttle you launched and it will give you some extra repair time. You could also launch 2 shuttles in different directions and go back and forth between them at intercept speed..
I'm just a bit confused about no nacelles. I thought the whole point of having them on pilons was they can't be too close to the ship or it would be destroyed. However I love the design. It's sleek, streamlined and looks badass
You are trying to repair your aft torpedos so you do that by presenting the aft tubes to enemy fire? If your trying to repair aft weapons then don't turn your stern toward your enemy.

Dreadful. Doesn't scream UFP. Dimensions are vaguely reminiscent of Kzinti Cruiser hull from the old Star Fleet Battles, just w/o the weapons booms. But really, it looks like silver-plated, up-armored horseshoe crab.
I never understood why Starfleet ships do not have auto targeting. There should be no people at the weapons desk. It should all be done by artificial intelligence, the same type they use for their holograms, and the phasers torpedoes should lock on automatically at any angle with their Technology the way they pilot their ships is very inefficient
Hey I’m the designer of this ship. I’m just happy that it’s getting some air. I am redoing it as a 3D model that I’ll be printing off soon.
