      That would be the perfect setting for a totally new Star Trek series. Strand in a completely 3 galaxy and being totally cut off from Star Fleet. While this was a main basis for Voyager, they at least some knowledge as to what was in the Delta quadrant of our own galaxy.
      It would be so ironic if it was these stranded ships to find the source of the black matter anomaly.

  • @randybentley2633

    The jump to the 32nd century was probably the best thing the showrunners could have done for this show because it gives them a clean slate to work from instead of the trouble-ridden prequel place that they shoehorned themselves into.
    The -N Constitution class is the saucer, secondary hull, & 2 nacelles design taken to its zenith!

    • @BuckFutterd
      @BuckFutterd 3 года назад +3

      I also think it was good for the time jump, it made it where they did have a clean slate as you said. They didn't have to worry about conflicting with essentially canon from other shows and such, because in essence it was something new.

    • @thomas.parnell7365

    • @Janx14
      @Janx14 2 года назад +3

      @@thomas.parnell7365 I'd actually love a 'classic trek' style series in this era. I think TNG era is heavily mined out, and ToS era has been rocky (though SNW seems to be doing okay with it). We need a new era for new writers to explore, and given the massive time jump, and the century and a bit of isolation due to the burn, there's so many ways things could have changed to give trek a fresh feel.

    • @valor1omega
      @valor1omega Год назад +1

      I agree it would have stopped the division in the fandom.
      JJ was right in making his series in it's own universe, it gave him 100% freedom to do what he wanted and the backlash was almost zero and what there was died off quickly.
      If they did the same thing here the hardcore Fandom wouldn't have cared about the series or what they did with it.

    • @CASA-dy4vs
      @CASA-dy4vs 6 месяцев назад

      I’d imagine they’d somehow break the warp 10 barrier and travel so fast that space itself doesn’t exist to a starship going past warp 10 which means if you input coordinates into whatever super computer manages it, it’d stop moving in like 5 seconds after breaking warp 10 effectively making galaxy wide travel in less than 5 minutes end to end

    I genuinely love the 32nd century ship aesthetic and feel it is an evolution Trek has needed for a long time. One thing I like is the greater variety of basic hull profiles, while still retaining a certain "something" that makes them feel like Starfleet. After a thousand years of cooperation and sharing between different civilizations there should logically be a wider variety of ship design concepts.
    I know some do not like the separated hull modules but this is an influence of contemporary print science fiction. Ships comprised of fundamental forces, fields, and multiple components have been common for a while. In the case of Star Trek, these ships are really an organic outgrowth of the existing structural integrity field concept - Starfleet ships already used forcefields to maintain rigidity given the stress points like nacelle struts and engineering hull neck connections. To me it feels sensible that as force field technology got better and better, eventually they'd simply do away with the physical matter of those stress points entirely. Why leave it there to simply get damaged and have to be repaired, if the structural integrity field is what is "really" holding the ship together?

    Everything you talked about in this video is congruent with an idea of mine. A soap opera based on bringing the Enterprise from the NX 01 to the NCC 1701-Z. Wherein from the ships from the NCC 1701-P and beyond would go from USS (United Star Ship) to UGS (United Galactic Ship). For a new type of propulsion came into place replacing matter antimatter warp drive with time antitime transslip drive. This enables travel to all galaxies to happen. Thus the United Federation of Planets to become the United Federation of Galaxies.
    The pretense of what was mentioned in this video was covered in a fan film called Star Trek Odyssey. Wherein during a war between the Andromeda Galaxy and the Milky Way Galaxy the USS Odyssey got trapped in the Andromeda Galaxy and finally got back using slipscreen technology that was talked about on Star Trek Voyager.
    Really what you talked about is enough stuff and beyond could build a network with an unending array of shows on a 24/7/365 basis. I am talking about a choreographed programs following Star Trek Cannon coming from a variety of sources from preexisting shows both reruns and properly done fan films such as Star Trek Odyssey, Horizon, and Renegades to those presently on air if you would call it that pay for view and spinoffs plus new shows. There is plenty enough talent to put this together Bad Robot, Paramount, and Rifleman just to name three. There are more but that is all I could think of off the top of my head. This network could be put together with help of Bell Productions for they know their way about doing soap operas and have the talent to be able to quardenate this together. For, this to work this would have to keep away from animation of any kind and garage productions.
    THIS WOULD TOTALLY BRING TO LIFE EVERYTHING YOU TALKED ABOUT IN THIS VIDEO.

    I’m glad you let everyone know that ranting about Disco is not tolerated. We should just count ourselves lucky to have new Star Trek to watch. It’s pretty much a running theme that all new Star Trek gets panned by fans with unrealistic expectations; it’s happened with every new series since TOS.

    Love the BC stories. I’m confused by this one though. Not sure if I didn’t hear correctly but if the shit can reach a satellite galaxy in 3-4 days why would the ship need any long-term crews/systems?

      With Dilithium becoming so scarce, Starfleet vessels are no longer warping, or transwarping around as casually as they once were! So a starship may be in a single area of space for years at a time!

    Tbh it feels 2/3 of the ship is great, then they went to the saucer and thought instead of just doing the normal saucer with some light bands, added a tad too much complexity
    Probably just me tho

    I have trouble believing that the ships and uniforms seen in DSC seasons 3 and 4 are really 900 years more advanced than TNG etc. To me, they would fit much better around the 27th century, putting The Burn around a hundred years past Picard.
    That said, I really like what you have done here, especially tying it to a retro movement following the temporal wars.

    I respect all views of Discovery but since it is on a pay TV channel, I have never seen it and will never pay for TV. I still ,and always will, have an antenna. Being a life long Star Trek fan, I am 61, it is a shame that everything is now behind a pay wall. Take care and God Bless from Florida.

      I want to see the new Voyager personally. The fact that Starfleet elected to freeze the registry number indicates to me that they ended up doing quite a lot with that Intrepid little ship as they only ever do that for ships that have achieved some sort of hero ship status.
