I hate how they're cycling through starships every 20 years. Per the TNG technical manual (beta canon I know), the Galaxy class should have a 100 year lifespan. The Excelsior class also had an 100 year lifespan before getting decommissioned. These ships SHOULD have longer lifespans. Even if the Galaxy class is glass cannon and an irredeemably fragile battle platform, we SHOULD be seeing old but upgraded ships on screen like the Akira or Defiant classes. What we see on screen though is starfleet retiring through ship classes like they're going out of fashion. What does this mean? that bridge looks so big it seems like everyone's going to need to be mic'ed to hear each other and the captain. Hope they show this ship in Picard in action and detail.
considering that we already have the technology to augment the audio of our surroundings using a wireless earphone irl, i wouldn't be surprised if they could make the ships universal translator or ship AI work towards enabling everyone in the same room able to hear eachother clearly without having to shout at all (but of course shouting is instinctual so some may still do so in high stress situations), so i wouldn't be surprised at all if the bridge crew can still function efficiently even on such a large bridge. i also like that the secondary deck of the bridge works so well as a situation room, CIC, or war room, which most other ships dont even have.
Technically, every Starfleet officer is mic'd via their comm badges. I could see a system having been set up so that the stations on the bridge feel like they are no further distant than on a Sovereign.
from the future: yeah...they didnt and admiral shelby (yeah that shelby) is in command and im guessing it not the flagship but instead serving as her command ship during Frontier Day, but i .
Original STO bridges and interiors are about 30%-50% bigger than the live action ones because of the game camera and clipping. The live action bridge would still be big but way more compact.
This was probably the best move on the part of CBS/Paramount for the Star Trek franchise in several years. I do think that it bridges the E and the J admirably. I also like that the design retains a "clean" look which some newer designs lack.
Truly a wonderful and beautiful ship in my opinion. My opinion of it hasn’t changed, I’ve always loved it. And I’m not gonna lie, I kinda used to assume that Star Trek Online was canon.
Absolutely love this ship design. It is now tied for 2nd place with 2 other ships as my favorite ship. 1st place will always been the Sovereign. 2nd place are the Excelsior, Luna, and Odyssey. I don't agree with the decision to decommission the Enterprise-F after only 15 years... but I really do like the Constitution III Class Enterprise-G very much also.
These videos are priceless! Thanks so much for doing all of this work. Would it be possible to produce a video showing what you would see looking through each of the windows? Seems like it would be fairly easy to do... Would be a great reference for modeling! Thanks again.
I really only spent a day or two modeling the ship myself, which wasn't enough time to model the details, including the windows. I would recommend checking out this video, probably a much more accurate 3D model. ruclips.net/video/c42oXCoI_vM/видео.html
Great video as always. As a ST fan I wish the story in Picard Season 3 was the Enterprise-E was being decomissioned and this is the new Enterprise -F that is shown at the end of the show teasing the possibility of a series on this ship. The fact the E was mothballed 20 years ago in the timeline and this ship is already being moth balled is just stupid writing.

@@nathanvalle6997 well, to be fair, the E got blown up by Worf, and the F, that is yeah something like 20 years old, but perhaps they where going to show off a new Enterprise G that ceremony. As someone suggested the idea that thd new G was being made inside the spacedock and it got blown up alongside the spacedock in the final fight. Tbh it is an interesting theory honestly
Why would the battle bridge be in the saucer section? The point of a battle bridge is to take command of the star drive section when the saucer is separated.
1061 meters long and 375 meters wide wow that makes the Enterprise F the largest Enterprise ever upto that point in the history of Starfleet man can anyone imagine if we got this Enterprise in Star Trek The Next Generation instead of the Galaxy Class this ship was around the same size as a Romulan D'Deredex Class Warbird.
You should see the enterprise j. It's like 3 miles in diameter lol. In star trek online the ship is absolutely massive, and they scaled it down 10x to get it to fit in the game.
@@harvmaloy3847 I have seen pictures of the Enterprise J which is an Universe Class Starship which is why she is so large I was just commenting that the Enterprise F being an Odyssey Class was the largest Enterprise upto that point since it was 4 generations before the Enterprise J.
Those capacity numbers are a bit off. According to the Enterprise D Technical Manual, which is canon material, a Galaxy class can easily accommodate up to 40k people in the event of an emergency. Given the internal volume of an Odyssey is a decent bit bigger, she could easily fit up to 80k.
The Odyssey Class also seems to be the last of the larger, more prodigious Starfleet vessel. The class seems almost to a fault a "projection of power" more than a diplomat hauler. I could see Starfleet decommissioning these ships as time has proven over and over as far as the Star Trek Universe goes that bigger doesn't necessarily translate to better. The new Neo Constitution USS Titan (Now USS Enterprise G) does away with the more cavernous sizes of previous ships and does "more with less" as in a battle hardened, tested, and solid platform for exploration, diplomacy, and as Picard as proven, outright war. Now THIS to me is a more ideal platform with fewer crew, more advanced and automated systems, and a very powerful, high sustainability warp drive (slipstream is questionable) that can reach and hold warp 9.985 almost indefinitely. It's like the series has gone full circle. From the humble Connie of the TOS, to the "A" refit, to the Enterprise B and Ambassador Class C, to Picard's D and E. We never saw the Odyssey "F" Class truly in action, but the "G" model under Seven of Nine as small overall as it is in profile, more than makes up for size in sheer firepower and it's massive impulse engines should give it amazing agility. Now we need to see the full might of the Neo Connie's teeth.
If it was real, id love to see how long it took for a chief engineer to get from the bridge to main engineering. It looks like you would have to take a turbo lift through the saucer section to a point, walk through a massive shuttle bay and then catch another turbo lift all the way to the back of the ship where engineering is located 🤷♂️
WELL AT LEAST I GOT TO SEE A -LITTLE OF -F-! & they gave it a Meaty Role! & Even had formet Ensign Roe now Captain!? That was a good tie in!! U LOVED THE SWOOPY LINES OF TNE -F-! BUT I HAD NOOO IDEA IT WAS THAT HUGE!!!!!!🖖‼️‼️
Why are the battle bridge and main bridge in the same section if the whole point of the battle bridge is to to be the secondary command center if the engineering section🤔
The Enterprise D was so big, with the 1000+ people that were normally on it, each person got something like 3000+ square meters of space to themselves.
Hmmm I've played STO with my Sovereign class ship and got to play a few missions with the Enterprise F. It was actually a slightly smaller ship despite the cavernous bridge layout. 🤔
My thoughts are that basically none of the info is canon. The F is going to be in the show but it does not have to fully align with the STO blueprint if they do not want to. For example they will likely shrink the ship down to be closer to a sovereign size or a bit larger. So to speculate on the subject before it airs is premature.
It certainly fits the ongoing design lineage better than the Tita-prise NCC-1701-G. It’s too bad the F got destroyed in Picard 3. They could have used it for 7of9’s first command instead. I think the fans would have loved that outcome better.
This new type of Startrek vessel seems, for me, more as the Voyager vessel as an Entreprise vessel ! The shapes of saucer ( more long than large ) , the different places of shuttles, phasers and guns, all this parameters seems as a Voyager !
The internal layout still doesn't make sense. If I'm looking at this correct, the blue lines represent the turbo lift shafts. If this is the case, there is no turbo lift shaft that runs to the stardrive section of the ship. From what I see, there are two turbo lift shafts, one that travels around the saucer section and the second that travels around the star drive, so my question is how does one get to the stardrive section? If you say beam there, then what would be the point of turbo lifts if you'd just beam anywhere you need to go around the ship.
Awesome video. Please keep in mind that the guys from Cryptic (Star Trek Online) have updated the shipmodel to be more 'presentable for the show' (for example another hangarbay ontop of the deflector dish was created, the large hangarbay on the back end of the saucer has changed and I believe they also redid the bridge interior, etc). According to Cryptic the updated visuals will be released ingame when the Oddy makes its official debute in the show, but you can check out some pictures and a video detailing the changes/updates by Thomas Marrone (from Cryptic).
Do you have a link to an image that shows a new hanger bay ontop of the deflector dish? I've seen the updated bridge design (a significant improvement on the original), and separating the large saucer hanger door to three smaller ones isn't too dramatic of a change, especially considering the size of the ship because even split into three, those will still be large doors. But I can't picture where/how a new hanger would look above the deflector.
@@danbach7748 Thomas Marrone showed it during a Ten Forward video a short while after the first Picard trailer dropped. ruclips.net/video/kEBeEQUQAO4/видео.html The details of the remaster start at 1:16:00. The extra hangar bay at around 1:42:25
@@FeeriiEekii Thank you for the link. I found the footage. If a shuttlebay can somehow be adorable, I've got to say that new one above the deflector dish is friggin adorable. Stellar Cartography can be moved to the saucer very easily.
Traditionally, the Saucer section is predominantly the livable space on ships with the Constitution class lineage. The Odyssey has that in spades, with enough space left over for all essential stations, amenities like holodecks and lounges, and scientific facilities. The main critical system that takes up the most space in the saucer is usually the main computer core, and we see this in the Odyssey too. It's honestly a cavernous structure, but I'll grant it can be used effectively while giving the crew a very luxurious living standard on the level of the Galaxy class, and even more multi-role capabilities. Meanwhile the size of the engineering hull is usually dictated by the really chunky critical systems of the ship, namely the warp core, the rest of the warp assembly, main shuttle bay, fuel storage, and surprisingly the deflector system. Which actually takes up a huge amount of space on older designs and accounts for the traditional cylindrical or tapered design of the engineering hull. This is where things start to not make sense for me. The deflector system has been minimized in the same way it was on the Sovereign class, representing how the technology has improved from the older ship designs with extremely huge deflector internals. However, that just made it quite snug in the Sovereign, due to the slim hull. The same deflector size is almost lost in the Odyssey's main hull. The same likewise applies to other critical systems like the warp assembly. A secondary computer core and truly enormous deuterium storage almost the size of a Defiant class try to account for the space in the hull. But frankly, it's still a mystery what all the rest of the space is for. Additional living space, cargo bays, all of these generic options don't account for the hull design that should take into account first the essential systems of the ship. Honestly, I think it would have been much more justifiable had the secondary computer core be moved closer to the neck area, leaving room for the entire keel to be an extra large shuttlebay that could accommodate small starships, and allow the ship to serve almost like a Starbase.
USS Gawr Gura NCC-4000620 (the 4000000 standing for her subscriber count and the 620 standing for her birthday of June 20) First starting off as a Odyssey Class but over time refitted into a YorkTown Class and then again years later it is refitted into a Lexington Class. Vessel is named after the most popular HoloLive Myth member of the 21st century. Hull painted blue, light blue and white with Gawr Gura’s shark mouth sweater print painted on both the port and starboard sections behind the deflector, also having Gawr Gura’s image painted on the mid section of the saucer section. Commissioned around the same time as the Enterprise F.
@@Halfscreen An attempt to just make it canon I suspect. There's a lot of small Easter eggs like this in the new season, the result of many of the crew being keen Trekkies!
Halfscreen's work to provide cutaway views of all these beloved ships is most valued. I do very much like the look of the Odyssey Class, especially given its fan origins. Questions: I find the location of the cargo deck odd. I'm presuming the angle of the cutaway is the problem, but it looks isolated from a means of supplying it. Next, that warp core is looking awfully small for such an enormous ship. I'd think you could keep a few cold spares cores tucked away for those pesky 'Warp Core Breach' moments. So are there Warp Core spares? I'd also kind of expect Federation Warp Cores to have either grown to better fit the scale of these larger starships or to have added redundancy and/or separated Port/Starboard warp cores. Why/Why not?
Well, the cutaway is based on the drawing I found on online, so much of the design is based on their schematic, i usual don't deviate much from the drawing even if it doesn't make sense.
@@Halfscreen Your work is wondrous in the ability to imagine ourselves wandering through the decks of these iconic ships. Fantastic site - many thanks on all your projects and videos. This particular ship tour was more a vertical cake slice through the ship than a deck plan, so things like the cargo deck might make more sense if there were, say, approach corridors leading to this volume. Approaches that wouldn't be visible here. Quite reasonable I'll discount illogical interiors, as that's a likely, but far less fun interpretation of head scratching shortcomings of the base designs. More fun to imagine the logic is just off screen. The spare warp cores idea comes from at least one Federation design that I vaguely remember depicting such. I don't recall where I saw it or which timeframe or timeline it originated from, but it seemed like a helpful thing for a stranded exploration ship. As for having multiple warp cores, such as separate engineering spaces for port/starboard - I could understand that being a bit to far from the standard gameplay and lore to show up, but a bulked up warp core to symbolize how much bigger these ships are than the fairly similar sized warp core of even the 1701-A of ST:TMP would seem more rule of cool plausible to see on screen. The one here seemed a bit overwhelmed by the scale of the ship, especially with as important as Engineering always is to Star Trek stories. Anyhow, thankyou for the response to my comment. I'm a fan of world building and Star Trek's core explanation of how their ships operate has always been one of my favorite examples of such. It is not hard sci-fi, but there is a logic to it that makes the technobabble go down easier and gives more fun fuel to arguments about how well a ship would handle particular challenges. Again, Thanks for your hard work.
From above the Odyssey Class has a very Sovereign Class look to it, the dorsal section seen from above looks very similar to the Sovereign Class in other words, well people do like to improve designs over time.

Imagine the first day for an apprentice engineer? The old boy says “ok we gotta fix this thing” and you’re just waiting for the lunch truck to show up.
Is it just me or do the nacelle struts seem to going different directions in different renditions here? They are swept forward in the render, but swept back in the raster/art version and in the game shots?
Since it is a Dreadnought Class, Should have incorporated some Armaments from Star Trek into the Darkness where it is more of a Battle Ship rather than a Cruiser since it was of the same Class.
Just to nerd out. The Odyssey class was what the Enterprise F was originally, but after the Iconian war (where it was halfway destroyed) it was refitted to what is now called the Yorktown class. It is believed that most surviving Odyssey's were converted to the Yorktown, or the more warlike Endeavor.
@@emti29 In the STO canon, yes the Enterprise was upgraded to the Yorktown. The rest of what I said was a bit of creative inference. Unless it's a mission before that moronic assault on the Dyson Sphere, you don't usually see the Odyssey ingame anymore, its ether the Yorktown class or one of her sisters. If you're referring to the show then idk, and I doubt they'll expand on it. I think the STO ships were just a quick fill in.
I wonder how STO's canon will deal with the enterprise f if the established lore has her being decommissioned early in 2401, as the ship was active in the STO timeline between 2409 and 2411
I prefer the Enterprise D, call me old fashioned but the F is ridiculously huge and not knowing what happened to the E is annoying. Plus, the Enterprise A refit was supposed to have been in service for 20 years before it was deemed old. The Galaxy class was in service for a mere five years and the E was in service for what felt like 5 minutes. Star Fleet seems to go through the alphabet too quick for my liking so the F can swivel for all I care 🤷♂️
Also I Doubt That the Enterprise F Bridge on Picard Season 3 if they Show it will be Like the Pictures That were Shown, It would be too Expensive to make a Fantastic Futuristic Bridge Like this.
Picard is not part of the main canon. Also I feel the conveyed layout is incorrect with the obvious question of why the battle bridge is in the saucer - it should be on the engineering section. The Enterprise E also has incorrect specs.
Its a Shame that the Only Time we will see the Enterprise F is Latter on in Picard Season 3 and She will be Mothballed, I Hope we get to see the Bridge of the Enterprise F and Check it out a little but I Doubt it.

considering that we already have the technology to augment the audio of our surroundings using a wireless earphone irl, i wouldn't be surprised if they could make the ships universal translator or ship AI work towards enabling everyone in the same room able to hear eachother clearly without having to shout at all (but of course shouting is instinctual so some may still do so in high stress situations), so i wouldn't be surprised at all if the bridge crew can still function efficiently even on such a large bridge. i also like that the secondary deck of the bridge works so well as a situation room, CIC, or war room, which most other ships dont even have.
@@forrestpenrod2294 That has not been true since.... around 2014 give or take. Starship bridges are adequately and canonically sized now.
This was probably the best move on the part of CBS/Paramount for the Star Trek franchise in several years. I do think that it bridges the E and the J admirably.
I also like that the design retains a "clean" look which some newer designs lack.
I like this ship but they'll never top the Enterprise-E. That thing is just beautiful.
Odyessy is more beautiful then the Sovergen
Truly a wonderful and beautiful ship in my opinion. My opinion of it hasn’t changed, I’ve always loved it. And I’m not gonna lie, I kinda used to assume that Star Trek Online was canon.
Interesting. I'm impressed that a 1/2 screen was made possible for Enterprise-F👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾

Well remember back in ST: Enterprise when Archer was on the Enterprise J in 2554? If the Enterprise F is going to be retired and we see an Enterprise G, that means the J is just three letters away.
Fuck me I hope Starfleet can stretch out G, H, and I classes for the next 150 years because they haven't been doing that for the last 20. 🙄
Why would the battle bridge be in the saucer? Seems like it'd be pretty useless there.
Why would the battle bridge be in the saucer section?
The point of a battle bridge is to take command of the star drive section when the saucer is separated.
I missed the rest of the video because that is all I could think about as well. It makes no sense.
Nebula Class, Steamrunner Class, Odyssey Class! Great designs.
Amazing video interesting about the Enterprise F federation Starfleet starship.
You're very improved, HS. This is why I keep coming back. Keep up the great eork.
Much appreciated!
The Aquarius Class Escort kinda reminds me of the Captain's yaht in some ways.
Thank you! Totally awesome - as always! 🥰👊
You are so welcome
Dude your enunciation has transformed dramatically over the last year.

Great video thank you very much for sharing it I would like to do some more videos more on Star Wars spaceships especially the big cruisers
Sure thing! Most of my earlier videos are based on SW spaceships.
The Odyssey Class is my favorite.
Why are the battle bridge and main bridge in the same section if the whole point of the battle bridge is to to be the secondary command center if the engineering section🤔
BRAVO!
The other STO ships are matching in capability. So it's a good possibility they match.
A transporter at the back of the bridge! Why didn't I think of that!
@@danbach7748 Thomas Marrone showed it during a Ten Forward video a short while after the first Picard trailer dropped. ruclips.net/video/kEBeEQUQAO4/видео.html
The details of the remaster start at 1:16:00.
The extra hangar bay at around 1:42:25
@@FeeriiEekii Thank you for the link. I found the footage. If a shuttlebay can somehow be adorable, I've got to say that new one above the deflector dish is friggin adorable. Stellar Cartography can be moved to the saucer very easily.
amaizing
A black Enterprise E would be perfect 👌🏼
USS Gawr Gura NCC-4000620 (the 4000000 standing for her subscriber count and the 620 standing for her birthday of June 20)
First starting off as a Odyssey Class but over time refitted into a YorkTown Class and then again years later it is refitted into a Lexington Class.
Delayed on Frontier Day due to a mission involving Cardassians.
Since I don't play STO, this ship is the one I know the least about. What a great intro! 👍🖖
I'm kind of disappointed that the F has a less noticeable role in Picard and I didn't play the game too.
@@Halfscreen An attempt to just make it canon I suspect. There's a lot of small Easter eggs like this in the new season, the result of many of the crew being keen Trekkies!
@@MatthewCaunsfield I think there are more than a few Easter eggs in this third season.
@@Halfscreen Especially episode one! Episode two seems to have calmed down a bit, thankfully 😂
Quite reasonable
I'll discount illogical interiors, as that's a likely, but far less fun interpretation of head scratching shortcomings of the base designs.
From above the Odyssey Class has a very Sovereign Class look to it, the dorsal section seen from above looks very similar to the Sovereign Class in other words, well people do like to improve designs over time.
reminds me of Voyager

Not a fan of the design, but still far better than JJ’s Enterprise.
It's roomy with vaulted ceilings and large corridor's. You'd get plenty of exercise walking around on this ship
Why would the battle bridge be situated in the (detachable) saucer section, in the front no less?
It reminds me to the USS Voyager.
Looks like Janeway's Voyager. Like I always say, Coffee beats Tea.
Since it is a Dreadnought Class, Should have incorporated some Armaments from Star Trek into the Darkness where it is more of a Battle Ship rather than a Cruiser since it was of the same Class.

So where did they get slipstream drive now? From the Andromeda Ascendant?
Battle Bridge in the very front of the Saucer? Bonkers...
Oh my!
Keep it it sounds like a damn good 👍

Just to nerd out.
The Odyssey class was what the Enterprise F was originally, but after the Iconian war (where it was halfway destroyed) it was refitted to what is now called the Yorktown class.
It is believed that most surviving Odyssey's were converted to the Yorktown, or the more warlike Endeavor.
You mean in the game iconian war? Is it canon though?
@@emti29 In the STO canon, yes the Enterprise was upgraded to the Yorktown.
The rest of what I said was a bit of creative inference.
Unless it's a mission before that moronic assault on the Dyson Sphere, you don't usually see the Odyssey ingame anymore, its ether the Yorktown class or one of her sisters.
If you're referring to the show then idk, and I doubt they'll expand on it. I think the STO ships were just a quick fill in.
I wonder how STO's canon will deal with the enterprise f if the established lore has her being decommissioned early in 2401, as the ship was active in the STO timeline between 2409 and 2411
Well sto is beta cannon so it doesn’t need to change the beta cannon lore of the enterprise f to fit alpha cannon
The ship itself is phenomenal, I love my Sojourner variant.
Pity the show did it poorly.
oddysey class
My favorite from playing Star Trek Online
Maybe an error but why would the battle bridge be on the saucer? Unless that’s part of the star drive section when separated?
please make a video about Dominion Vessels, little Attack Ship or Battlecruiser or Battleship. Or cardassian vessels like the galor class. 🙏🏼
I love my Odysey Class in STO.
why is the warp core and antimatter pods so close to the outer hull?
I prefer the Enterprise D, call me old fashioned but the F is ridiculously huge and not knowing what happened to the E is annoying.
Plus, the Enterprise A refit was supposed to have been in service for 20 years before it was deemed old. The Galaxy class was in service for a mere five years and the E was in service for what felt like 5 minutes. Star Fleet seems to go through the alphabet too quick for my liking so the F can swivel for all I care 🤷♂️
Looks awesome, but too big. It's bloat makes it look more like a ocean liner you'd take on a vacation rather than an exploratory vessel.
Also I Doubt That the Enterprise F Bridge on Picard Season 3 if they Show it will be Like the Pictures That were Shown, It would be too Expensive to make a Fantastic Futuristic Bridge Like this.
It seem like the show preferred the Titan over the F.
I prefer the original Odyssey class to the YorkTown variant
They refit all the odyssey class to yorktown class ships due to battle damage, etc in the game. I suspect they will keep it going a bit longer.
In picard season 3 they renamed Titan to Enterprise at the end. What Enterprise was that, not F?
Enterprise F was in episode 9, Titan Rename = ENT-G
Picard is not part of the main canon. Also I feel the conveyed layout is incorrect with the obvious question of why the battle bridge is in the saucer - it should be on the engineering section. The Enterprise E also has incorrect specs.
Hey there. Will you please do the Constitution III class? Titan/Enterprise G.
Yeah. I'm currently working on the 3D model of the ship.
the ship's saucer is NOT a egg shape but rather a federation combadge shape
Battle bridge in the front and brigg behind the deflector???
Funny how it’s called a saucer yet shaped like a spoon 😂
Nice.

Its a Shame that the Only Time we will see the Enterprise F is Latter on in Picard Season 3 and She will be Mothballed, I Hope we get to see the Bridge of the Enterprise F and Check it out a little but I Doubt it.
