You can also lay your guillotine flat on the table, stand your cigar inside the guillotine and snip. The thickness of the cutter is generally perfect for snipping cigars.
You can also make a V cut, rotate 90 degrees and make a second V cut if you need more airflow. That’s called a rose cut.

I have one of those cuban crafters, it is my go to. I didn't think to use it on my torpedos, for that I use my xikar XO, but I'll try the CC. At the range I sometimes use my medic scissors, they work great. I stopped punching too, they never end up centred and it triggers my OCD. Best draw tool is chicken skewers, they work great and you get 12 for a couple bucks so if one disappears the wife doesn't know or get angry.

Different cuts have different tastes , the way you cut your cigar determines how the smoke forms inside your mouth and the way it gets mixed with your saliva depending of how much smoke your cut allows you to pull , i have tried two same cigars with different cuts and all of my friends noticed a difference in the taste .

I really only keep a guillotine cutter for clipping a cigar before relight.
