  • Cuban cigars hold a reputation as the world's most opulent tobacco product. A box of good quality Habanos can cost thousands of dollars. Every hand-rolled Cuban cigar goes through about 500 manual tasks from seed to cigar. But over the last 25 years, cigars made in other countries in the Caribbean and Central America have become comparable in quality, consistency, and cost. Some experts suggest that up to 95% of all Cuban cigars in the US, which hasn't allowed the import of Cuban cigars since the 1962 embargo, are actually counterfeit. So why are Cuban cigars so desirable? And is that why they're so expensive?

Cigarettes and alcohol addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

I don’t smoke or drink, but I absolutely love the craft, artistry, and history that go into creation of a peaty single malt, a good Cabernet, and a hand rolled cigar.

When I was working in Hyderabad airport Customs,8 years ago,a European passenger had gifted me a small box of 'Habana' cigars ( 12 numbers,if my memory is correct) in return for a small favour which was within my official prerogative but not illegal. The aura and aroma of those cigars were such that it took me almost two years to completely smoke it - tasting, appreciating, evaluating, comparing, etc., going all the way to a period of two years!

I once had the opportunity to share a pair of Cohibas with a friend. One a Dominican Republic stick from the local shop, the other a Cuban from his recent visit to Cuba where he took a factory tour. We passed them back and forth and neither of us could tell the difference. Others might be able to distinguish them, but we couldn’t. So I just find the cigars that appeal to me and don’t worry about origin. Good brands from reputable stores make good cigars.

Had my first cigar last week. A friend gave me a cigar kit as a gift. Absolute pleasure to smoke. I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. Very delicious.

I definitely never see myself smoking anything, but my grandfather used to smoke cigars on special occasions, and I have fond memories tied to the aroma. I enjoyed getting the see the quality of craftsmanship that goes into some cigar production.

Cuban hand-rollers are getting more and more rare as the art dies off. Lots of Cuban cigars are machine processed nowadays. Like many of the guys here, I really enjoy seeing craftsmen at work.

“I never smoke to excess - that is, I smoke in moderation, only one cigar at a time.”

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.
