Wow Kirby every Cigar smokers dream to smoke in the house got to hand it to you. You are a true cigar Aficionado , I am currently celebrating with you smoking a Davidoff signature on your behalf.
Wonderful smoking room and filter. I was surprised how much I’m enjoying smaller ring gauges. I thought bigger gauges was better, but smaller seems to give a better feel for the quality of the cigar.
I’ve been following you for quite some time. I’ve always been enamored with the lifestyle of being a gentleman and you’ve inspired me to carry myself to a higher degree. That being said, I had my first cigar I liked! It was a brand called diesel and it was from their whiskey row collection in which the leaves are aged in whiskey barrels. What a wonderful cigar that had flavor I could actually taste. I think my flavor palette isn’t quite developed yet. I hope to find more similar to that brand I found. Most seem peppery to me. God speed Mr Allison !
None of this makes any sense to me, but it looks like you are enthused. Bravo. I am amazed at whoever installed your system. They connected flex duct to both sides of a filtration system like that. There is no way you have any airflow through that thing.

My cigar room is my living room, only spot in my house that has a fireplace. Middle of winter when its 8'c~2'c, glass of port or coffee and a proper cigar by the fireplace is why I appreciate the winter season..
I have to agree, sitting quietly in your home is the way to go. I installed a negative pressure downdraft system 15 years ago and it has worked excellently. My bar area is in the center of our great room (Living, Dining and kitchen) in 40'X 42' space with cathedral ceilings, and all the air space allowed for purely extraction, without filtration. Will admit, it is not perfect but handles like 90% so happy with that. Great stuff, Thanks.

Great Customer service, and many of the manufactures have plenty of styles, options like nails and seat cushion material. They are a buy it for life quality! Women owners if I remember correctly. My recommendation would to be go with two pairs of different styles. Not cheap, but quality never is!
I'd say light cognac, tan or white leather cigar lounge style chairs would be good chair replacements, minimum shoulder height back of the chair. The dark chairs seems too dark for the whole room. I'd also suggest a airtight or near airtight container to keep the ash in after you empty the ashtray to help reduce the smell. can always use the ash in the garden as well. You may have one already, so if you do, ignore that bit. Great work and great videos.
I love this! My wife and I are just started the process and design to build our dream home. We are putting in a cigar room and Ill be sending this video to the builder lol Im in Dallas too

A much cheaper and classic alternative to a table lighter would be a candle and some wooden sticks. Actually, that is the traditional way to light up cigars. There used to be a cigar nightclub in New York, called Bar and Books (unfortunately the establishment no longer exists), and that was the only way they lit cigars there.

The ventilation is doable, but can you really get rid of all the smoke?? I’d likely vent outside. Construction on this house never ends, we’re redoing 9 bathrooms at the same time. It’s like living in a construction zone for the past 2 years… I loved the opening on this episode where the vent pipe ran in front of the carbon door. Yep… Familiar with those scenarios restoring a large historical home…. Always something 😳🙄

Wow! I started smoking cigars in the field in the Army. One of the small joys. Smoked indoors in a Cigar bar in Vegas. Never tried in the house. I'll have to clear it with the wife.
I am sitting outside, in the corner of my verandah. The weather is miserable, cold, rain hitting the roof making quite a noise. Why? Because I am enjoying this Davidoff Signature piece :)) - and smoking inside is not an option, residual odour will stay, I know this for sure. Having such smoke sucking system would be just great.. Well done, Kitby!
My dream cigar room (which I am a long way off from buying) has some bespoke leather chairs from Fleming and Howland. A vintage record player with some jazz records, and a mahogany drinks cabinet.
Only a $2-3K increase in the power bill! Gotta love TX! I live in NRH TX, built a cigar room and installed a vent used in greenhouses for weed ventilation. I vented it through the roof in a straight line. Simple air return. Poor man’s cigar room but Works great. 😉
I didn't even use an air return. The negative pressure is a positive imo, pulls fresh air in the entire house whenever I smoke. Believe it or not outside air is typically always cleaner.
I think you could install some folding french doors in the entrances to that room to restrict the airflow to the rest of the house if you find there's a bit too much smoke escaping. The main challenge will be if you have guests over; having 2-4 lit cigars in that space will likely be far too much for the filtration system to handle. But if you install even a few thinner doors, open the window, and run the filtration system I expect you could avoid most of the smoke escaping.
If smoke is escaping he's not pulling enough negative pressure against his hvac's intake. He spent a fortune on bs lol. Through the roof is the only way to go and even then the room itself is going to need a deep clean often.
Congratulations on your new home and the excellent smoking set up Kirby. Have you tried the La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'Or No. 4? If you're a fan of the Montecarlo I think you would love those too.
