The issue I had with the movie is it was unrealistic and didn't make much sense. For example the character Ava came from a loving home, had a loving father in the home, and lived in a nice home/neighborhood. And Dallas was just mean. He was mean, didn't have money, couldn’t please her sexually. So I was just trying to figure out why in the hell would a pretty woman like her who came from a loving privileged background be with a man like that. It made absolutely no sense. I could see if Dallas was super charming, funny, sweet, and, great in bed, or had money. But he was shown to be none of those things. So that was highly unrealistic and never made any sense. Lastly she had been with Dallas mean evil ass for years and never left but after spending a week over her parents home and watching a old homade video of herself younger, she's changed, happier, rejuvenated and all. 😂😂 GTFOOH, it was just missing too much, Tyler has this thing where he uses the character dialog to explain why a character is the way they are rather than showing it and letting the audience see it. I wanted to see Dallas father abusing his mother and him shooting his father in a flashback over hearing Dallas say it in a druken fit of rage. It was so much that Tyler could've done, but didn't.
Well I do think it was realistic that Ava and Dallas got together because I'm sure that Dallas wasn't like that from the beginning. I'm sure he was charming while he was trying to win her heart. Also, Dallas clearly had traumas and Ava was from a family that was constantly dealing with broken people in their ministry. I'm sure she thought she could help fix him, but his issues were far too deep for a loving wife alone to turn his dysfunction around.
@HeitCheri And I understand that, but I wish Tyler would've shown it. But perhaps he chose not to because he already knew he was going to kill Dallas character anyway.

I only watched the movie once so I may have to watch it again now that I watched this review. I feel like the ending has a door open for another movie. Maybe about Dallas’ family and his upbringing and how he and Ava started dating bc I still can’t believe she married him if he was so awful the entire time 😅 And yes, I’m gonna need a full breakdown bc so much happened in this movie.
I agree with Heit on thee overacting. Cuz weve seen these folks in other movies. Especially Debbie.. and. They had to overact as a result of thee Lack Of Script Quality & Content.. Multiple things can be true at one time. Absolutely we are proud of what mr Perry has been able to create for himself in the movie and television industry and there have been hits and misses in his projects. I remember my parents going to visit friends and were shown the VHS or DVD plays of Tyler Perry as Madea. I've never liked any of them but my parents did. His tv shows that were supposed to be comedy weren't funny to me and you could clearly hear the laugh tracks.but I did in the beginning enjoy the 2tv series he did for OWN THE HAVE AND THE HAVE NOTS and IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG but eventually both shows got dark entirely too sexual and lots of cussing.. The man who quoted scripture I no longer saw in Perry and a much more deliberately aggressive and perhaps comfortable and assured Boss appeared who didn't care what anyone thought of his work because he was going to show us exactly what interested him and some say turned him on.i remember literal R*pe scenes in THE HAVE AND THE HAVE NOTS against men in prison and it was so detailed I couldn't watch it anymore than his costar the beautiful ms Tika Sumpter in a scene was being brutally beat in her face and I just couldn't support his projects and I felt some kind of way about his character and lack of care with what he offered as art on film. It really comes across that mr Perry couldn't care less to what he visually feeds the Black community when it comes to films and perhaps he doesn't have to but I'll never watch anything he's affiliated with and when I heard he's possibly involved in the 3rd SISTER ACT I'm sorry I guess I won't be seeing that either. But anyone ever wonder why hasn't any of his actors gotten big roles from other directors or producers, they may have gotten a big payoff with Perry but no one else will touch them.
I agree that Jurnee Smollet is a stronger actress than Meagan Good. She just brings the intensity in everything she does no matter how big or small the role. She's amazing and so underrated.
I think TyTy be googling & searching social media on whats relevant. And for a while the Divorce Rate has been relevant.. so. That could be a part of his Motivation. & Its hard to ignore Zodiac shihh when TyTy do alot of Stereotypical Virgo shihh. I was under the impression that Dallas was a good husband but it turns out he was abusive from the start. At least that’s how I interpreted it. I only watched the movie once so I may have to watch it again now that I watched this review.
I feel like the ending has a door open for another movie. Maybe about Dallas’ family and his upbringing and how he and Ava started dating bc I still can’t believe she married him if he was so awful the entire time 😅
And yes, I’m gonna need a full breakdown bc so much happened in this movie.
Full breakdown please ❤
I've been waiting on this video omg !!!
Been waiting on this ☺️
Need that breakdown on Belly! And a full breakdown of this movie. Love the in depth reviews.
Noted!❤️❤️❤️
Not the casket 😂😂😂💀💀💀
He's not heavy, he's their brother🎶🎵. 😬
😬🤦🏿♀️
He should be stiff lol. Rigor mortis sets in by then (I imagine) lol.
The jazz man's blues and a family that prays is his best work
I agree with Heit on thee overacting. Cuz weve seen these folks in other movies. Especially Debbie.. and. They had to overact as a result of thee Lack Of Script Quality & Content.. They did a Good Job. But their skills were compromised by thee fact they had to do it all basically. For errthing else that was Lacking.
Now me and my mom will randomly say, “We da Bertrands, baby! And don’t you forget it.” And I agree, Queen Sugar has more subtlety and realism. I absolutely loved that show and the book! It’s one of my favorites.
😂😂😂 We the Bertrand's baby!!!
That opening scene made me clutch my pearls 😂! I had to rewind and watch again!!! Dallas character reminded me of the Ike Turner character in the movie What’s Love Got To Do With It. I enjoyed Divorce in the Black.❤
Please do a full analysis of the movie. I would love to get both of your perspectives
I want to know what y'all thought when Cory's character said "I'm gonna slap your nose 👃🐽 off" 🤣🤣🤣
😂 The problem is that Tyler Perry makes me have inappropriate reactions to things that should be offensive. I'm laughing when I should be angry. 😆
@@HeitCheri totally understandable. That's the same way I felt about the Haves and the have nots
I want a breakdown of the WHOLE MOVIE 😂
I've been waiting on y'all and this review...
Yessss!!!!
Not the casket 😂😂😂
Not the casket!! That was a mess! Do you think Oprah screened it and gave a 👍???
I think Oprah gives Tyler a pass because he's her friend.
The way that body looked in the back of that truck 😮!!!
😆
I agree that Jurnee Smollet is a stronger actress than Meagan Good. She just brings the intensity in everything she does no matter how big or small the role. She's amazing and so underrated.
I would really love to see her in more stuff!
I don't like either of them. Jurnee is a snob!
Heit really got me looking crazy laughing at work 💀
😂😂😂
1:14:01 I really thought she was gonna make them take his clothes off 😭😭😭😭
😲😲😲😲😭😭😭
I think TyTy be googling & searching social media on whats relevant. And for a while the Divorce Rate has been relevant.. so. That could be a part of his Motivation.
& Its hard to ignore Zodiac shihh when TyTy do alot of Stereotypical Virgo shihh. Like being determined to do EVERYTHING on his own.. and Being very wordy and wanna Tell folks bout words and phrases and what they mean and allat 😂😂..
Not the casket
I've seen this and it was bad but shocking enough my Mother liked it. Mom knows best...Sometimes. 😆
The script was atrocious. They got paid but the money is not being spent for the quality of the movies
I knew i recognized her mom’s face in the movie , I can’t believe they acted in the same movie as mother and daughter on eve’s bayou .
In Eve Bayou she was the aunt not the mom.
46:39 the idea of the Holy Spirit calling up the pastor and letting him know the man who died is in hell is kinda funny to me. Like how is this the pastor’s business?
Megan was in You got served as Beautiful
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. All those movies slur together for me 😆
@@HeitCheri they sure do 😅
Not the casket!!! 😡😂😂
Y’all strip with that picture !!! 😂😂😂😂 LOVE Y’all.
😂
