I watched this to figure out how hard I had to beat on the TKO to get it to come off. I've been beating on it with a hammer, but it won't budge. I notice you hit it pretty hard, and then there was a cut, where I assume you had to continue to wail on that thing.
Ended up using a multisaw in middle of flange. Take care not to go too close to edge of flange. Carefully cut the edge of the knock out and was able to pull it out with grips. Easy! huh!
I’m glad I came to the comment section to find I’m not stupid and everyone else hates the blank to hammer out. Broke the whole damn thing trying to get it out
I beat the heck out of it before putting it in the pipe and afterwards. I was ready to give up, but it eventually came out. I had to hammer ALL the way around the raised rim to break the seal.
Why do you have to knockout the raised rim on the TKO instead of just creating it without? It's ridiculous that I have to watch a video to figure it out when it should be more intuitive.
What is the correct height of a flange above the cement, tile or wood flooring? Too high or too low is a problem. I have not seen or found this answer online!
After watching the video and banging on it far too long with a regular hammer, I used a 3 lb hammer. That worked for me. My ring was mounted on black PVC rather than white so I am not sure where that material is a lot harder to break...
I'd love to post the video I made of my husband using language I seldom hear trying to remove the TKO! and still figuring out how to get the BROKEN pieces of plastic that fell down the waste pipe! Worst idea we've seen lately!
Not as easy as it looks. I hammered and hammered and no luck. The knock out would rotate but not come out with any type of grips. Probably need to cut a hole and maybe cut into pieces. Wish it were easier.
I watched this video twice and then took a few whacks at the plug. It didn't budge, but I did finally crack the surrounding plastic. Okay, so they got my money. I'll just avoid all their products from now on.
I bought this not for the clever cover but for the longer neck. I beat the (appropriately) sh** out of it with first a hammer and then a mini sledge and the thing wouldn't budge. I went online to find a video to see how hard I had to hit this and the few light taps he does in the video isn't realistic. Notice the cut - when I'm sure they had to cut away so he could wail on it. I went back and bashed away on it. When it finally did break, grudgingly, I removed it and it left behind a lot of little plastic shards that I then had to trim off with a razor knife. Friggin' nightmare. It's a nice idea, but save your money and stuff the neck with by filling a plastic grocery bag with a wad of other plastic grocery bags that you've got lying around.
Thanks for the video. Our plumber roughed in our drains with the TKO flanges and I wasn't sure how to open them up. Super easy and worked great.

Thought the same thing
Got to beat the shit out of it! No pun intended lol

Thank you for the video, I could not figure out how to get the plug out!

Agreed
I had to beat it like it owed me money for the thing to come loose.
TKO , That's the hardest part of the job!! What's the reasing for it amyway...im surprised people dont distroy the whole thing trying to get it out!

I would say no more than a 1/4" or at least 3/8''
I get one of those and I break it so I have to go buy another one the same kind now I’m kind scared to break it again
I just purchased the small flange adapter that fits inside a 3" drain pipe. I can't find a wax ring to fit it.
After watching the video and banging on it far too long with a regular hammer, I used a 3 lb hammer. That worked for me. My ring was mounted on black PVC rather than white so I am not sure where that material is a lot harder to break...
That worked for me too. A regular hammer did nothing to it. With the heavier hammer it just popped out. Didn’t even need the pliers.
Seems like you will have some rough edges after the blank is removed that will need to be smoothed out so stuff doesn't catch.
That was my experience. Needed Thor's Hammer to beat the crap out of it and it left little shards I had to trim off.
@@marka657 The caught fecal matter will smooth it out for you ;)
Say flange one more time

I need a street offset flange, but no one makes it. Would the PushTite work in a 3'' hub?

this video helped me out much. thanks

Same happened to me.
Ditto. One of the worst ideas I've seen.

Umm needed to whack it hard on one side with a hammer to make it come loose, NOT as easy in the video 😅
That punch out...stupid...why??
I agree with everyone else. Stupidly made. I hit it till it broke. still don't have the thing removed.
I fought both these guys one time. They were weak.
Terrible camera angle
Appreciate your input Ben. Need to see more from the top side?
Bad design. Almost impossible to remove cap. Seek other brands.
This is such a poor design. Defeats the purpose. Don’t go with this if you can find another product.
