    My son has hypoglycemia; his blood sugar dropped to 30 when he was diagnosed and threatened with a hospital stay. So, he truly does have to watch his diet. He found that if he cut way back on his sugar intake that he just felt better. Consequently, I no longer bake the sugar laden desserts anymore because my son just can't have them. I am definitely going to make one batch of these up just for fun. Then if he likes them, I'll make some more during the fall and winter holidays. Thanks for posting this.

      @@katherinewagoner741 I use Cary's Sugar-Free Maple Syrup, have for many years, and love it. It's sugar-free, initially developed for diabetics, not true "maple syrup" but does have some natural maple flavor. No, I'm not saying I substituted refined sugar with syrup, I substituted some of the cream (liquid) because I didn't want to play too much with the liquid ratio in the recipe. That being said, it was lovely with only a tablespoon but sure, I guess you could use more. Or maybe use maple extract in place of the vanilla extract. Also this recipe has no refined sugar, it has erythritol (Swerve) and I would definitely use less Swerve next time.

    Great recipe. Fast and easy. I did reduce the sweetener to only 2/3 but the pralines were still way too sweet (or I ate too many of them :D). I will try next time only with 20 to 25 grams (1/3) of Erythritol. Greetings from the south of Germany.

    Well… I don’t know where I went wrong 🤔 but mine have been in the fridge for 24 hours and although they look set up, I have to scrape them off the parchment paper with a spoon! You can imagine what that looks like 😂 but they are friggin. Delicious! Just wish that I could pick them up and not eat them off the spoon like peanut butter. 😂

    I'd make these right now but I've eaten half the bag of pecans. 😄 I'll buy more tomorrow. This will keep me from buying those honey roasted nuts I've been craving.

      If they are purely honey and not added refined crappy sugar then the honeyed nuts are better than these powdered sugar things.

    They look good! Definitely brown the butter and try hazelnuts with the pecans (add a pinch of salt when roasting) and in New Orleans most pronounce them “prawleens” and “puh-cawn” but the way you say them is great! 🤣

    Wow! I'm sitting here in my livingroom in Northern Germany, watching this video . These pralines look fantastic and delicious - thank you! One question: Is Swerve just Erythritol? I can't buy "Swerve" here in Germany, but pure Erythritol.

    • @TheDietChef
      @TheDietChef  3 года назад +2

      Pure Erythritol isn’t as sweet as swerve so you’ll need to use a bit more

    • @lukecowell7516

      If you can get pure sucralose I'd say mix it in with the erythritol but remember is super sweet so watch how much your adding it will enable you to use less erythritol and also will be less of a cooling effect

    • @debrahurtado5491

      @@lukecowell7516 Sucralose is REALLY bad for you, though. Do some research on it and aspartame... 🙄. Then, just back away... get stevia, Allulose, erythritol, monkfruit, lucuma, or lakanto products. The whole point of dumping sugar is to IMPROVE our health. Sucralose and aspartame do just the OPPOSITE!! 🤦
