Taste as you go! Stir in a tablespoon of lemon zest for that extra flavor kick. Taste it ! Pour the filling into your pecan crust and pop it in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours and then thaw completely before serving.

I have a different one coming up for a slice it, but I don't think anybody wants to see me eat 🤣 also, I don't put carb count on mine because all ingredients are different. After trying some of the other big RUclips recipes, I figured out quickly that the carb count the list and the actual carb count can be completely different! One recipe was supposed to have four grams of total carbs and it ended up with 12. Another listed 8 g and it was 18 total. I would definitely use an app like Carb Manager or something similar for the exact ingredients you were using, and double check every recipe you make. There's a lot of bad information out there...

I found basically the same recipe from another keto site that is even easier. All same ingredients except only use 2-3 Tbs of juice and you add a packet of keto lime ( or lemon) jello to the whip cream, cream cheese mixture. It eliminates the need to put it in the freezer. It only needs time in frig before serving. Your recipe uses a lot of juice which makes whipped cream mixture soupier which is why you have to freeze it.
I try to make all my recipes with the most natural ingredients possible, but that's probably good👍🏽! I can stand the extra few hours, because I'm cheap 🤣

I just made this. I did not have lemons, but I had a huge heirloom orange. Because the juice of the orange is sweeter than lemon juice I used less sweetener. I used only 1/4 cup of monkfruit. I can’t wait to eat it later after dinner. Happy Mother’s Day!

I followed everything according to your recipe except I used the orange and cut the sweetener. Monkfruit is the sweetener I like the best. It tastes most like sugar (to me) and has no aftertaste.

I have been hearing a lot about allulose as a sweetener in RUclips videos. It also has a good taste to me. I am diabetic and from what I am hearing about it it might be what I use in the future. Apparently it is a sweetener that might have some health benefits.
@@sheleneworland1497 Thank you! It's a really good sweetener. It's part of that magic baker's blend from Splenda. It has allulose as well as stevia and erythritol. I think it gives it a really balanced sweetness. I use allylation my ice cream to help it stay nice and creamy instead of getting hard in the freezer

Thank-you for this delicious dessert recipe. Your directions are spot on. I did make some minor changes and used 100% Stevia in the filling and a tblsp of coconut sugar in the crust. Everyone loved this dessert.

I love everything about this recipe! I can no longer have almonds due to kidney stones, but pecans are my favorite nut anyway (fellow southerner here). It's wonderful with lemons, and today I'm going to buy limes and try it with that. BTW, I'm in the please ditch the music group--I listened on my computer both with and without ear buds in, and in both ways the music was distracting. Had to turn off the sound and use cc.

😂 I understand! It is soooo good! You can always cut it into 8 portions and freeze it. Take one piece out a couple hours before you want it. Unless you're like me and will eat it completely frozen also 😂

Awesome! Yes, we use that crust for a lot of things. You can grind up the pecans into a flour also instead of leaving chunks to make a more commercial type crust

Yea I didn’t watch the video because of the music, too loud and distracting. But it is your video and it is your choice to have the music too loud. Just some of us are older so it’s more difficult to hear separation from loud music and someone’s voice. W can always turn up, or down, someone’s voice but not when it’s got loud music too.

Hi there! 👋🏻 Splenda is a name brand. I don't use their normal sweetener, just the magic bakers. It is a blend of only eriththritol, allulose, and stevia. Check it out. I was really surprised and happy to see it and it is my favorite sweetener. 😁
@@southernketo Erythritol is also problematic for the gut. Safer to stick with pure allulose. You'll need a third more allulose to match a 1:1 sweetener blend, though.
I recently found out that I'm pre diabetic. I'm doing all I can to reverse it. I would eat deserts without a second thought. Now I plan carefully. TY for the assist!

I do a version of this. I do a nut crust, but use walnuts, butter and keto flour, bake til a bit brown. 2nd layer, make your cream cheese layer, but add vanilla not lemon. Next layer, Delish brand of keto pudding, chocolate. Top layer with keto whipped cream (sugar free cool whip or home made). Sprinkle top with chopped nuts.

This is my first time watching this channel. I think ya'll is so cute . You honor your wife and that's a big plus in my book. SO happy to know some Southern Men love to cook, are in love with their wives, we need more of this respect and LOVE online and in daily life. My family is originally from Chattanooga TN and Huntsville Al. This recipe . sans the Swerve ( which did not exist way back when i was a child ) is very much like one my Mom made often. She did meringue sometimes. Super yummy and easy. Pecans can cost a fortune here in N Callie, but its worth it. Walnuts are everywhere and about half the price. NOT the same but close. In Central Ca,, the San Joaquin Valley. Merced especially, has pecan trees growing all over , in parks and such. People are allowed to glean the nuts from the ground. Its a lot of work but I have more time than money . Id like to add my opinion about the background music, its hard to hear you over it. Also, I was eagerly awaiting you enjoying the dessert cutting it and serving it. It was a bit of a let down not to have included that in this video. I do agree with everyone else about the music. Music is not needed, and I would have liked to see you cut into it so I could see how it slices. I did just make this, and it is in my freezer setting up for tonight's dessert. Of course, I tasted the filling as I was making it and I do like the lemon zest added to the filling. What could you use instead of pecans because of nut allergy. I’m on an iPad and I could hear the music. It’s not really loud just annoying. Maybe a softer sound would do better. This looks delicious and I really want to try it but can’t have the pecans.
I made this yesterday. It turned out really good. I ended up throwing it back into the freezer though because it was not set up, even after the first 2 hours in the freezer. So I left it in the freezer overnight. When I was mixing everything up and tasting it, I was thinking maybe I should have doubled the cream cheese, but I wanted to try it the way you made it first. :) I make a Keto Chow Cheesecake fluff that uses a little less heavy whip with the block of cream cheese and I really love the consistancy of that so maybe next time I will use slightly less heavy whip or double the cream cheese. I love that it is so easy to make and easily customizable so we can adjust things for our preference. Great recipes. Have an amazing day. 💜

I just made this. I did not have lemons, but I had a huge heirloom orange. Because the juice of the orange is sweeter than lemon juice I used less sweetener. I used only 1/4 cup of monkfruit. I can’t wait to eat it later after dinner. Happy Mother’s Day!

I followed everything according to your recipe except I used the orange and cut the sweetener. Monkfruit is the sweetener I like the best. It tastes most like sugar (to me) and has no aftertaste.

I have been hearing a lot about allulose as a sweetener in RUclips videos. It also has a good taste to me. I am diabetic and from what I am hearing about it it might be what I use in the future. Apparently it is a sweetener that might have some health benefits.
@@sheleneworland1497 Thank you! It's a really good sweetener. It's part of that magic baker's blend from Splenda. It has allulose as well as stevia and erythritol. I think it gives it a really balanced sweetness. I use allylation my ice cream to help it stay nice and creamy instead of getting hard in the freezer

I love everything about this recipe! I can no longer have almonds due to kidney stones, but pecans are my favorite nut anyway (fellow southerner here). It's wonderful with lemons, and today I'm going to buy limes and try it with that.
BTW, I'm in the please ditch the music group--I listened on my computer both with and without ear buds in, and in both ways the music was distracting. Had to turn off the sound and use cc.

Awesome! Yes, we use that crust for a lot of things. You can grind up the pecans into a flour also instead of leaving chunks to make a more commercial type crust

Yea I didn’t watch the video because of the music, too loud and distracting. But it is your video and it is your choice to have the music too loud. Just some of us are older so it’s more difficult to hear separation from loud music and someone’s voice. W can always turn up, or down, someone’s voice but not when it’s got loud music too.

Splenda is neurotoxic. It causes the same symptoms of MS. Just saw where you were using it so thought i would share that info.
Hi there! 👋🏻 Splenda is a name brand. I don't use their normal sweetener, just the magic bakers. It is a blend of only eriththritol, allulose, and stevia. Check it out. I was really surprised and happy to see it and it is my favorite sweetener. 😁

@@southernketo Erythritol is also problematic for the gut. Safer to stick with pure allulose. You'll need a third more allulose to match a 1:1 sweetener blend, though.

I do a version of this. I do a nut crust, but use walnuts, butter and keto flour, bake til a bit brown. 2nd layer, make your cream cheese layer, but add vanilla not lemon. Next layer, Delish brand of keto pudding, chocolate. Top layer with keto whipped cream (sugar free cool whip or home made). Sprinkle top with chopped nuts.

This recipe . sans the Swerve ( which did not exist way back when i was a child ) is very much like one my Mom made often. She did meringue sometimes.
Super yummy and easy. Pecans can cost a fortune here in N Callie, but its worth it. Walnuts are everywhere and about half the price. NOT the same but close.
In Central Ca,, the San Joaquin Valley. Merced especially, has pecan trees growing all over , in parks and such. People are allowed to glean the nuts from the ground. Its a lot of work but I have more time than money .
Id like to add my opinion about the background music, its hard to hear you over it. Also, I was eagerly awaiting you enjoying the dessert cutting it and serving it. It was a bit of a let down not to have included that in this video.

I did just make this, and it is in my freezer setting up for tonight's dessert. Of course, I tasted the filling as I was making it and I do like the lemon zest added to the filling. What could you use instead of pecans because of nut allergy. I’m on an iPad and I could hear the music. It’s not really loud just annoying. Maybe a softer sound would do better. This looks delicious and I really want to try it but can’t have the pecans.

I made this yesterday. It turned out really good. I ended up throwing it back into the freezer though because it was not set up, even after the first 2 hours in the freezer. So I left it in the freezer overnight. When I was mixing everything up and tasting it, I was thinking maybe I should have doubled the cream cheese, but I wanted to try it the way you made it first. :) I make a Keto Chow Cheesecake fluff that uses a little less heavy whip with the block of cream cheese and I really love the consistancy of that so maybe next time I will use slightly less heavy whip or double the cream cheese. I love that it is so easy to make and easily customizable so we can adjust things for our preference. Great recipes. Have an amazing day. 💜
