  • Here is the Hyena and Eurohike Backpscker comparison, as you can see they are extremely alike. Either way they are both great tents. All information is in the video. I have also added in the OEX Phoxx 1 v2. they are all roughly the same price, i would deffinely recommend all tents for wild camping or camp site use.

Hi This is a very helpful video, I just bought Hyena 11, Had few issues putting it up, Your video makes it look so easy, I thought the poles had to be pegged in your video shows otherwise, Wife helped me put it up first time, 2nd time did myself, Still not 100% sure I'm doing it correctly, I'll get there eventually, As i said your video has helped heaps,

Brill review, so down to earth. I've just hit the button to buy the hyena before watching this, but having seen this video I'm glad, for me the extra money is worth the over double HH to the other one. I'm going to be bike packing with a trailer.

Good thorough review as always Dale...! I was already a E/H Backpacker fan, so I couldn't resist buying the Hyena when it came out a few months ago just for comparison...!😄 I did swap the bright yellow guylines on my Backpacker to army green ones, as I thought it would be abit more stealthy & I also added black O-ring tensioners to them, similar the Hyena, which I do find much easier to adjust...👍 I like both tents & is hard to choose between the two being so similar... I agree that the backer does feel a fraction lighter in weight & I like the light inner, however, I also like the orange/almost golden inner of the Hyena which I find quite a relaxing colour on the eyes, but I do wonder if it may also be more attractive to Mossies...!🤔🙄🤣... Also, although the Hyena flysheet has tensioner straps on one side, as U mentioned the Backpacker fly does sit slightly lower to the ground... Either way they're both great tents with loads of space for me & dog, with a good size porch/vestibule area for kit or cooking & although people will have split opinions, I do love the windows...!💯 Either way they're both good tents, at a very good price...✔️ Have a great weekend...👊

I bought my Backpacker 3 years ago and do all my camping on Dartmoor. I've been out in all months, woken up with frost on the tent or winds up to 40 mph and lashing rain. It has always stood up to the challenges and is remarkably quiet in the wind, it also looks very stable in bad weather. I leave the inner door open slightly at the top at night revealing a bit of mesh, as a result I have never had condensation problems even when sharing it with my granddaughters. I had to replace the pegs, but this is usually the case with budget tents. I was thinking of upgrading, but can't find a tent which ticks as many boxes as this one even at three times the price.

Great video, I myself bought the backpacker for a trip to this years Isle if man TT, tent was faultless, although the weather was ridiculously good so haven't tested in the rain. I'm wanting to do my first wild camp up the Mourne mountains would this little tent be up to it Dale?
