I once took a pottery class - and in that time and place, there was a definite assumption that only women were interested in that. I wonder if he was ever aware about the assumptions - we were all polite and didn't say anything to him, of course.
When I started flying, I was having a drink with a male Cabin crew. I was asking him why flying ? He said it was easy he was sitting in school wondering what he wanted to do in life and realised that 80% of cabin crew are female ( early 2000s) and of the other 20% ... 90% of them were gay. So on a typical flight he would most likely be the only stright male Cabin crew. And CC are normally very good looking ( especially back then ) So his chances of getting laid with a good looking girl was pretty good ! 8 years later he married a very attractive fellow cabin crew so that guy was a Genius!

Precisely the reason why, in 8th grade, my friend Steve and I signed up for Home Ec. First day of class, teacher walks in, sees us and says: "Men should never be in a kitchen" (nevermind that at the time 99.9% of the chefs in the world, at that time, were men). So, first she banished us to another room, then she made up a whole curriculum for us that relied heavily on politics. I challenged her on this (I had a set of state education rules and regs in my possession). The principal transferred me to working in the school cafeteria (and getting academic credit). I was already working after school as a janitor for the school and got a free meal each day for working in the cafeteria-making things easier for my mom at home (I didn't need a sack lunch each day).
I signed up for home ec. simply because I wanted to. I was also, the only biological male in class. The teacher was good about it but the classmates hated me being there. One of them (the president of the Student Representative Council) went so far as to tell me "Go back to the shop (the guys all signed up for industrial arts), where you belong." I probably shouldn't have said it in hindsight but I snapped "Maybe I want to learn to be a good housewife and homemaker too." This angered her more and she insisted that wasn't why they were there. The teacher overheard our argument and replied: "Actually, he's right. That would've been the original intention of this class historically and although the curriculum has since changed there are still traces of that fact that can be seen." That shut up the other student! I ended up being the only student in the whole school to take both Construction and Carpentry (the girls all chose online classes for that period) and Home Ec. in the same year. That was funny too though because we baked cookies in Home Ec. and there wasn't enough time between classes. There wasn't another class in the Home Ec. room so the girls got permission to use their laptops at the big table we had in there. They then brought me my cookies to the shop wrapped in tin foil. I managed to bribe the trouble maker (who ended up getting kicked out the next year) with one of them. We shook on "If Mr. Smith says you've been good at the end of class you can have one." I think Mr. Smith was surprised how well that worked. 😂

I barely finished the assignment before the end of the semester. The second semester, we had to build a shack. This was something that I was finally not great at and the teacher absolutely loved it. The cabin leader would read out to the table at breakfast who had what skills and the the order in which they would take place. All the guys thought it was so sissy, to be in hair braiding. Even the cabin leader did a double take and struggled to read it off his paper. However by the next meal time (after I had had that skill), one of the boys in our cabin had their face lit up, and they looked at me and said, "Wait a minute. You actually got to touch a girl's hair!?" I replied (initially confused), "Yeah." That kid then said in astonishment "Wow!" The whole table saw me as a celebrity after that. In terms of the actual skill, I was just "one of the girls." Everyone was chill and didn't care. It was a while ago now but I remember I started with braiding string and then we did a braiding train (I was of course the caboose as I had short hair). 😂

When I was younger I looked down on the "women's jobs" and wanted do something STEM related, joke's on me, I work way too hard and I'm pretty lonely.
That's not too old at all. With 7 European languages you will be rich. 😁 I don't know why nowadays flight attendants are so young, as a passenger I am more comfortable with trusting my life to someone with life experience rather than a youngling. No matter how trained they are. A few years ago airlines applied older and plumper ladies (in their 50s), because passangers felt safer with them.
Never too old!(it's just a state of mind). I was 53 when I became a F/A. Retired now, but it was the best and most challenging job ever! Regret only what you didn't try for. Bonne Chance! Wally B.🤓
I know a very straight dude who happened to be a flight attendant. Very cool guy. Poor sod apparently got loads of ... uhm ... pics of the pilots' sticks, though. So, thank you male flight attendants for your work, I've only come across very lovely ones as a passenger.

Reminds me of my 9th grade history teacher who used to be a ballerino.
Not "all" male flight attendants are gay, but for the small percentage that aren't, it must be an incredible opportunity to spend quality time with the ladies during layovers.
I’m a male flight attendant and straight… honestly, this is the perfect job for a single man because the pool is huge! And you meet the most beautiful women out there! 😮💨🤝
I hope they give concert tickets, I now really want to be a flight attendant even as a male
Early! Love ur vids!
Haha, all Jeenie's wigs
My husband's dude hair stylist is gay SO he -THINKS- my dude hair stylist is too...
ha ... N O T !!
Man ain’t gay, man is a genius
I feel the same as Mike, being a male who teaches Pilates.
the third one...uhhhh shiver.
This is how I am correcting people when they assume I'm a filthy hetero 🤣
how?
@@teamawesomeness7137 watch the video.
Damn Mike.
Bro really said *uno reverse card* in 200 ways 👽
The only real drawback I can come up with that you'll incur from working as a flight attendant is the _jet_ lag.
And apparently higher rates of cancer. But the studies are "inconclusive"
I have an aunt Jeenie.. She lives in a bottle! Yoooooo
That's the very dumb one! 🤣i like!👍
My life... as a dancer. 🤫
Reminds me of Bring It On and the male cheer leaders.
Were you in a Kpop music video? I saw somone that looked like you. It's Nobody Knows by Kiss of Life. The character in the crowd that gets iced coffee poured on her head.
NOT THE SUBWAY LOGO 😭
Ok umm this got my friend that is addicted to Fnaf wonder if Michael afton is gay even though he isn’t a flight attendant
I failed my group interview for allegiant. 😢
You can obviously be straight and work as a flight attendant and I'm sure tons of straight guys do. But NGL my gaydar be goin off on a lot of them. Maybe I'm crazy or the sample size is just too small but that's how I feel.
The straight flight attendants always stand out because they pull jokes to passengers just like tour guides do on tourist coaches.
Damn, now I wish I was younger, I think 38 is too old, I love flying and I've always enjoyed helping people out on flights as I speak several European languages.
Wally B.🤓
My mom was a flight attendant, but her male coworker was actually gay 😂.
I’m gonna be a flight attendant when I’m older.
Earlyyy omg ilysm
I have a male friend that was a Singapore airlines steward. He dates 9 stewardesses at the same time.
Can someone help me here I’m going to Jamaica and I want to know if I can give the flight attendance some chocolate or something on both flights
Yes,you may. It's appreciated,as much as good manners by everyone on board. 🎉.
I know a very straight dude who happened to be a flight attendant. Very cool guy. Poor sod apparently got loads of ... uhm ... pics of the pilots' sticks, though. Aaaaaand I'm not referring to the ones you steer the aircraft with.
He also told me that on certain routes his airline required a minimum count of male flight attendants lest the female ones would get relentlessly harassed.
So, thank you male flight attendants for your work, I've only come across very lovely ones as a passenger.
Gotta applyyyyy
Reminds me of the guys in college who become cheerleaders.
omg i thought the beard was real for a second
I don't understand some stereotypes like why would a man that likes a man be "girly" since they don't even crush on girls
i've seen gay flight attendants and they definitely stuck out from the rest 🤍
I get it. Nurses too
I can see this happening-
All men will now apply for the job 😂❤ wont show this to my husband 🤣👍
I didn't know men can be flight attendants too
I always wanted to be a flight attendant😂 but it doesnt suits me
Is that a pun? 😅
TBH, I might have some questions if bro-dude showed up to work in the dress option.
No worries if you're into that sort of thing, just like, I didn't know dude.
