The most impressive thing about the undertaker is the longevity of the character. Taker remained a professional and in kayfabe for 30 years . This man was The Andre the giant of his era . He didn’t need the belt because his name was already worthy.
The best thing about it is the timing. In December of 1990, Paul Bearer was getting ready to leave the business all together but Rick Rude (I believe, correct me if I’m wrong) gave Bearer Vince’s number to see if they could find a place for him in the WWF. And with Paul Bearer being a real life mortician, it was practically fate 😁.
Plus it was the perfect balance. Taker was emotionless, had the dark, deep voice and was a man of few words. Paul Bearer balanced it out with the eerie facial expressions and the shrill voice that could do all the talking for him. It added to the mystique of the Undertaker in the beginning
One thing to note here is his actual first match in the WWF was on Superstars 3 nights before Survivor Series, but due to tapings taking place like a month later, it would air December 15, 1990.
Shawn Michaels vs the Undertaker at WrestleMania 25 is the best wrestling match of all time in my opinion. Literally a FLAWLESS match. The story of their rematch at WrestleMania 26 was a lot deeper, but the match quality of 25 is just on a different level.
16:40 that event was WrestleMania in 2008. It happened in Orlando, FL back then. 17:15 that match was a classic because both wrestlers performed really, really well on that day, with unexpected moves and innovative maneovers. You can find the full match right here on RUclips, watch it later. 17:23 be the one to defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania, it was a huge deal breaking that 15-0 streak. Following the storyline, Shawn Michaels was willing to put his career on the line to defeat Undertaker at WrestleMania: he did that at the following year (2010), but he lost again and the "punishment" for that was retirement. Shawn stopped to wrestle for 8 years, when he came back only for that special match you just saw the picture. WWE already had elite athletes on their roster in 2018: watching those four 50+-year-old wrestlers to fight each other was hard because the comparison with the other young stars was a cruel thing the audience did. They were slow in the ring, they missed executed some moves badly and their performances were criticized by the ones who watched it. 22:17 yeah, they called it a cinematic match, once it was impossible to have it at a crowded arena during the first stage of COVID pandemic. He retired on that way. They did a few cinematic matches after that, but it ended with the end of pandemic. 23:00 no, that was a recorded match, in which the exhibition for the 1st time is the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania XXXVI Undertaker entered the WWE Hall of Fame last year with huge tributes coming from everyone. Everyone paid their tributes over a year as we were held in quarantine, he surely will never be forgotten and his career can be seen in those many epic matches and moments uploaded by WWE at their RUclips channel.
Undertaker is my all time favourite wrestler bar none, his career lasted my entire life. It's crazy, this man at like 6'8 I think Taker actually is was genuinely doing things that cruiserweights would do, Old school walking the top rope, his top turnbuckle clothesline, his flying clothesline, him diving over the top rope. The man's agility was unheard of back then and IMO paved the way for other big men to be agile and fly as well. Taker will always be the greatest character and greatest big man to grace a wrestling ring and we will never get another.
Taker had a hell of a career. It sucks that some people are talking negatively about his speaking tour, claiming he ruined the illusion of their childhood. Like, come on, dudes, he maintained Kayfabe for literal DECADES, there was nothing to ruin, we only adapted and changed according to the times. Now he is taking the next step in his life, and we are here for it.
@@OldManAlex719 wasn't make fun of you. My bad. I was having a go at the people who said it ruined thier childhood. My apologies for the misunderstanding.
What makes me admire Taker and this match even more is the fact the day before he got a call that his brother had died. Still, he was able to pull through with the filming of the match and create one of the most memorable matches in WWE history!
Undertaker's last match is available on RUclips. It's a full match btw and not in clips. (It's more of a film/movie than a match because it was during the pandemic on that WrestleMania)

The undertaker as always been one of my top favorites he is definitely one of the greatest of all time Thank you for reacting to this bunny ❤ you always making great videos
A little bit of a misunderstanding Undertaker didn't invent/create the tombstone piledriver. That was his first time as the Undertaker character performing the tombstone piledriver. Any version of the tombstone piledriver has roots as far back as the late 50s. But the 1st time I've seen the tombstone done was by JACKIE PALLO in the early/mid 60s he called it the head drop. But Paul Bearer becoming Undertaker's manager was absolutely the best decision. In his personal life William Moody(Paul Bearer) was an actual licensed funeral director so putting him with the undertaker made sense.
@@jackstraw4222 True. I remember andre the giant doing the tombstone piledriver every now and then in his early years in the 70s. He did a jumping version of it. But Don Muraco actually made it one of his finishers during the 80s. His version of it was called the Hawaiian Hammer/reverse piledriver.

I remember seeing Mark Calloway, aka The Undertaker, when he was in WCW as Mean Mark Callous. I liked it when he walked on the ring ropes like it was a tight rope, called Old School.
Bunny, I can safely say that Paul Bearer (real name, William Moody) was an outstanding addition to the Undertaker's character. The Undertaker, as I've been told, is an awesome and humble person in his own right. William Moody, I can vouch for, as I was an e-mail pen-pal of his... he was an extraordinarily humble person, and as down to Earth as one can get. I spoke with him many times, and even got to meet him once. He was SUCH a nice guy outside of his character! I can't even begin to tell you how much. As horrible as "Paul Bearer" was as a character.... the person playing him was SO opposite of that. William Moody was a wonderful person, and I am SO proud to have gotten to know him.
It sounds like Paul Bearer was the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. The contrast between his character and the person playing him is truly fascinating. Rest in peace, William Moody.
@@Bunnymon It's funny (rhyme intended) that the nicest people play the best heels/anti-heroes. They get to unleash their creativity and become their opposite, but in a fictional way. While the "story" was semi-fleshed out, as a creative (amateur) writer, and a HUGE fan of The Undertaker, Kane, and Paul Bearer, took it upon myself to start writing a "fan-fiction" version of their entire story, based on what we saw in WWF/WWE. I had told William about that story, and really wanted to read it. Sadly, he would pass away before I could finish it and send it to him. But just knowing that he WANTED to read what I had come up with, means a lot to me. My late wife used to love the undertaker especially his eyes. I had a large poster put in her coffin when she was cremated. Seems fitting for the undertaker
like many, i would have to say undertaker was definitely one of my top 3 favorites of all time.. i did not like when he changed from being a very unique the undertaker "deadman" to the biker taker, which was basically similar to so many others, BUT, i do respect that HE (Mark Calaway) wanted to do it, wanted to try something different, and maybe it worked out for the better, people might have eventually got sick of the deadman persona, but after taking a break from it for a few years, when he came back to the deadman persona, the reaction was great. as for Cinematic matches... WWE did not do a very good job with those, the boneyard match was by far the best they did.. granted they only did about 3 of them, and the first one they pretty much buried, saying "saying we have to show you this" wtf?? Matt Hardy made so much of an impact with the first few HE did, as "broken Matt Hardy" while working for TNA / impact wrestling, wwe wanted a piece of the action, then somehow derailed it themselves?? (i'm sure because Vince doesn't like to push anything he didn't create)
actually with the cinematics match i forgot about the one with John Cena and Bray Wyatt.. it was very good, but you might not get some of the references in it, because it covers a lot of Cena's past, and even some "what if" stuff. so that one and the boneyard match are the best in wwe.
