I hope you you came out after Hannah watched this episode without too much bruises. When I saw the episode was posted I thought:" Oh my, She's gonna need a big hug after that." After watching it, I think she's more in need of a punching bag.
I don’t know how Hannah has remained spoiler free for 13 years. But if she continues to be both this perceptive and hilarious this may become my favorite GoT reaction channels.
In the past people cinsumed news via mass media. That's how things get easily spoiled. With social media, you won't be spoiled if you don't search, read or follow anything on any show. Once you do then the social media algorithms will start recommending related info to you.
Hot take but the ending only sucked because the first many seasons were so good. The ending was still better than most television just not what we wanted, being rushed by the writers. No matter if you agree on the ending though, the first seasons are objectively BRILIANT art!
I had your exact reaction to Ned dying. I bought the season 1 dvd as the show was in between season 2 and 3 and the cover of it is Ned sitting on the Iron Throne. When this episode went to black I just sat there with my mouth open trying to understand what I saw. I looked to my left at the dvd cover and picked it up and literally half screamed, "But he's on the cover! BUT HE'S THE MAIN FUCKING CHARACTER!!!!" I didn't even tear up because I was too angry.
George R. R. Martin wrote this world to be as realistic as possible. He always hated stories where the hero would escape certain death just because they were the hero. He believes it takes the stakes out of a narrative. You never truly fear for their lives. In Game of Thrones, you must always fear for a characters life. The realism takes precedent. No one is safe.
Yup..... 9 episodes and MAIN characters are just wiped away. It's this episode that really spells out that No One is safe. You're doing great Hannah ❤️
As dramatic as this sounds Ned being killed truly broke my heart and I was in a pretty bad mood for like a week. I had to keep reminding myself that it was just a show but it still hurts💔💔 I cried many times about it. I've watched some pretty scary and sad movies but this truly was the first time I felt betrayed by humanity lol
I was the same, i was so excited to see his journey, felt the same way about the entire stark family but ended up being broken hearted through out the entire show. Someone really needed to give poor Rickon a hug
I read the book first and threw it when the death happened (that’s blasphemy in my world) and has never happened before or after. It was heartbreaking in the books and the show.
I kind of wanted him dead, because of the sheer dumbness he shows. I know it's his character flaw, and it only makes sense that it's punishable by deah. In the GOT, you either win or you die, there is no middleground.
@@cherrybomber69yes all the starks. Rob's death was so brutal. His killing wasn't what got me as bad but his wolf head sown onto his body just pissed me off so bad this was an emotion I had never felft before just devastated specially when animals get killed. Humans play some dumb games for power but the animals arr the purest creatures suffering for our stupid choices. Arya being so close to hugging her mom & brother & seeing him like that was just the bloddy cherry on top 😢💔💔💔💔💔
When you said varys was so honest it really opened something for me as a rewatcher. Littlefinger means to take control the thrown through lies. Varys uses similar tactics but uses truth ashis weapon for the sake of the realm.
This was the episode when I started to get real nervous , this just became real and unpredictable , I was nervous when watching every episode there on . GOT became almost part of my life .
Ned being sentenced to die and killed in front of his daughters is still the saddest moment of the show for me. This scene always brings tears to my eyes. Poor Ned tried his best and even forsook his honour all for nothing. How just a few months prior he was living peacefully and happily with his family and was suddenly thrown in the vipers' nest, and by his friend at that! And poor Sansa who was so hopeful her dad was about to be pardoned 😥
The thing to remember is that back when this came out, series rarely killed off main characters part way though or came close to the quality of game of thrones. This show kind of kickstarted the trend of no character being safe, for better or for worse, and created a massive leap in the quality that series could reach. This episode in particular really set it apart from anything else on TV. Also any chance we could get full reactions on Patreon going forwards like we do with the movies? Would be nice to be able to watch along as it's been a long time since I've seen it myself.
Also the fact Sean Bean was like the only big name in the show before the whole cast bevane stars in their own right. He was the star of Season 1 and anyone new to the story assumed he was the main character and would hang around. .....Nope!!
So glad to see Hannah with her own channel, she’s always been my favorite part of anything on Ash’s channel. Compassion, empathy, and love show far more strength than brute force.
Hannah must be the most genuine reactor I've ever come across. Others have some material where they slip up and it becomes obvious they're not first-time watchers and it feels somehow like a betrayal but not this girl. And I love how she passionately gets invested in the characters and the story. I just love this channel!
“You’re lucky if I don’t burp during” 😂 I now have two favorite GOT watchers. Just so happy when I find genuinely passionate reactive watchers. It’s like I am watching with a bestie
Thanks so much for this reaction, you are so pure and smart that this show is gonna be a hard watch for you, but it truly is amazing and I can’t wait to see this with you! Please please please never stop watching, it’s gets absolutely amazing 😂❤❤❤
You're such a good person it makes me literally tear up sometimes. There are people in the world that make me feel a sense of shame about being human. You make me PROUD. You see the goodness and beauty in people that others don't. When you were talking about Frey's daughters, you gained a lot of respect in my book. Which is hard because you're at like maximum respect level in my book already ^_^
Hannah you are an absolutely amazing reactor and so far my favorite reactor for game of thrones! love you an ash. A suggestion if you're willing to hear it. Your commentary is fantastic and usually on point, so when you start monologuing or reacting to something that just happened it would be great if you could pause the show! More often than not, whatever you say ends up being on the MONEY, and you finish peoples sentences or predict a quote before it happens, but we can't see you realize how on top of it you are! Even if you don't do this, I still give your reactions a 10/10. Cheers girl!
Great stuff Hannah. I remember when I first saw this episode - just heartbreaking. It gives you the uneasy feeling of "is anyone safe?" I don't think anyone expected they would actually kill off Ned.
Every 5 mints Hanna says something Me: "oh honey....if only you knew" Then Hanna says "That is the most shocked i have been through the entire thing" Me: " oh dear lord, save this girl from the pain ahead.... " 😅 Ps: loving these reactions, wishing you all the success
This will always be the most heartbreaking episode for me. It wasn’t as common back then to kill off a main character and I remember being speechless for like an hour! However, thanks for the amazing commentary. I ended up laughing more than I thought I would… “My stars and the moon is not dying” “we’re gonna have a dead person disco” - I was rolling after that one haha You’re the best Hannah 😂 Can’t wait for the finale! :)
I just have 4 things to say: 1. You're an angel and I love your channel! 2. I ship you and Ash because you're an adorable couple. 3. Your parents sound hilariously awesome and I'm jealous. And 4. Upload the next video PLEASE!!! (Yes, I understand that you're a human being with a life and stuff. Totally respect that, and I sympathize with how rough this show is for someone with as much empathy as you.) But... your reactions are the same as mine were, and you're making me feel very "not alone" in this world right now. So, yeah... please keep updating because you are healing my soul. 💙
Ned reminds me so much of my own father in both character and appearance. I took his death way too seriously for a tv show and was distraught for weeeeeks. 😅
Wow, Ash went from being the man to not the man in less than 3 minutes. This was the episode that solidified for me that GOT was the best TV show I've ever watched. That was a spot on description of Bronn too.
So just to clarify this point so you're not confused about Tyrion and Jamie's relationship. Jamie was trying to be nice by setting up Tyrion but it got out of his hands. He was the one who treated Tyrion like actual family and was trying to give him some confidence/fun.
I remember, after watching this episode, I sat in the dark, alone, thinking through the potential implications to the story lines from Ned's death. Another great job. Thanks
I only recently found your channel so I'm just now working my way through your reactions to GoT and I'm enjoying them immensely. I knew this one was going to devastate you. When the show came out I had already read the books so I knew what was going to happen, but the friend I was watching with had not read the books. He was so furious when Ned died that he refused to watch it anymore. Even years later I tried to talk him into finishing the series, but he refused. He just couldn't get over it. What I found surprising and beautiful was that even though he was gone, Ned's presence could still be felt throughout the rest of the series. Ned's honor, his goodness, and his morality had a deep impact on everyone who loved or respected him. He was never forgotten.
So happy for your 20K subs, congratulations! When I saw this episode I was so upset about Ned's death that it took over a year to start watching the show again. Loved your reaction thank you for this. :)
Everyone has the same reaction to Ned’s execution. They all hope it’s a dream, they all pray that it’s somehow not real. But somehow they always forget: NED STARK IS PLAYED BY SEAN BEAN. Sean Bean has died in ALMOST every single thing he has ever done.
Welcome to Game of Thrones, Hannah!!! This is the baptism for all the fans, I think 😂 Also, for the 100th time, the way you spot things... it just makes me fell like an idiot now 🤣
Please please please keep going with this. I have watched this show through with many reactors . You are by far my favourite and we are only on the first season ! Thank you and enjoy 😊

Love the format of having a bit of Ash in the intro but you do the reaction alone so he's not giving anything away with body language. The intros are so cute and hilarious and your reactions are so raw and genuine!
Fantastic reaction, as always, I expected a little more tears though... oh wait ! there's still one episode in this season ! Yay ! 😁 Can't wait to see your reaction to the finale ! 😉

I wasn’t sure why I started watching you earlier today because i’ve watched way too many GoT reactions already but omg you may be my absolute favorite so far. You are hilarious and I’m sad I binged these because now I have to wait for more lol
As always great reaction! I felt exactly the same when I first saw this episode. I refused to believe they killed ned stark so early. So excited for all your future reactions! Best reaction channel by far!!
Great reaction Hannah, and congratulations on the 20K subscribers. After you watch the last episode of Season 1, PLEASE watch the Season 1 LORE videos, that explain about the world and all the things they can't explain fully in the seasons, BEFORE watching Season 2. It will give you a better understanding of the world and customs. Though some videos are long.
Massive congrats on the 20KK!! So proud of you..also banging reaction ❤️
You're a lucky man. Congrats to you both. Keep grinding, stay hungry, thank your viewers and count your blessings.
I hope you you came out after Hannah watched this episode without too much bruises.
When I saw the episode was posted I thought:" Oh my, She's gonna need a big hug after that."
After watching it, I think she's more in need of a punching bag.
Thank you for taking one for us. We are truly grateful. Her reaction was worth it.
Sad to hear you never get it in a good way mate 😁

I haven't seen it either, and haven't been spoiled. I have access to watch it on my own, but I wait for Hannah to upload instead lol
I'm thinking about getting my parents to do a reaction. They know nothing about the show & aren't online lol
yea

teaches everyone its OK to kill of characters in a reasonable way, not just shocking for shocking sacks yk wat I mean?
This was the episode when everyone understood that ANYONE can die in this show.
Well, understood it… right after getting past the denial phase. So many “No way! That did not happen!”s from so many sweet summer children.

Child of summer!
The most wholesome and honorable character in the series, gone so early in the series
The most dumb of the character too, it only fits.
You can notice that Ned’s Execution is not what Cersei had in mind, and she knows she fucked up when she begged Joffrey to reconsider.

Till the show passes the books and then it becomes fan fiction. I remember laughing the whole time watching the character fight in army.
