Also, that scene with Littlefinger and Cersei is one of my favorites in the show. I remember the chills I got when she said, "Power is power.", Lena Headey is bloody amazing portraying her.
Jack Gleeson is one of the most striking examples of perfect casting in this show. It seems that Max Pirkis was also considered for the role (and I think he would have been great as well, as he was in "Rome" and "Master and Commander").
The Dothraki is one of Daenerys' blood riders. She's not in love with him, but he is a friend and she is very fond of him because he is one of the very few who stayed after Drogo died and once the dragons were born, he and two others swore an oath to her. They are the equivalent of the King's(Queens) guard.

The threat with gendry (Chris from skins) is that a bastard can be legitimised by a king. Obviously Joffrey would never legitimise one of roberts bastards, but with Stannis, and most importantly robb claiming they are kings now, they could easily legitimise one of roberts sons. this is especially important if Joffrey tommen and Marcella are perceived to be lannisters and not Baratheons. That is why they are willing to kill even babies that have roberts blood to stop the crown from being taken.😊

Thank you so much for persevering with this show Hannah! I was very much worried that you might give up on it as so many people do. There are so many characters to learn, so many different story lines going on at once and that's without all the history & lore of this world. But I should of known you were made of stronger stuff, the amazing thing is (and this is just my opinion) the show gets so much better. Sure the first season is great but for me season 3 was the moment I realised that this would be one of the best shows I've ever seen. As I said these are just my opinion, maybe it's because by then I was familiar with all the names and places so I could just sit back relax and enjoy the show. A bit late, but yeah, the Histories and Lore videos were voiced by the actors and released with the seasons in order. People will say the season 5 one spoils HOTD, but this show does as well (and really, it's like watching a WW2 film and saying it spoils the ending of WW1). I would watch them after the show at this point, though.

King Robert and Queen Cersei had a boy who disappeared in the books and was believed dead she mentioned in the first season. "...When we lost our first boy..." she said. That boy is rumored (fan speculation) to be the true king who was protected by wet nurses and King Robert being drunk and violent didn't help with the hysterics. In season 1, Ned Stark questioned Gendry, King Robert's bastard, about his mother. His answer was: "she sang to me...had yellow hair." But nothing I've read or watched since has any proof of that beyond the bastard murder plot line. Personally, I believe that always meant it was true. It's up to you on further review of season 1. Great stuff in there on 2nd 3rd watches. Great work.

It's actually not gorey, it's about back when the FBI started a small task force to try and understand the minds of serial killers, by interviewing famous (real) ones who were already in prison. It's a TV show but the people they interview are actors playing famous real serial killers recounting their crimes. It's not ALL factually correct but it is a FANTASTIC show if you're interested in psychology, criminology, and how the FBI started working out how to profile and split these killers into different groups. All based on experiences of an FBI agent who truly went through so much of it. In my opinion it's almost a piece of art. Love your reactions and saw you in a movie too! Fantastic actor! Red Priestesses are blessed by the Lord of Light and have various magical abilities that can vary from Priestess to Priestess. Which is why Stannis pulled the flaming sword from the pyre, to prove his worth to the Lord of Light. Melisandre explains exactly why she is immune to the poison in her final words to the dying old man. "The night is dark and full of terrors (the poison) old man, but the fire burns them all away". Red Priestesses cannot be poisoned in any manner. As a Red Priestess she is filled with the fire of the Lord of Light, so as soon as she drinks the poison the fire within her instantly burns it away.

It's not ALL factually correct but it is a FANTASTIC show if you're interested in psychology, criminology, and how the FBI started working out how to profile and split these killers into different groups.
All based on experiences of an FBI agent who truly went through so much of it.
In my opinion it's almost a piece of art.

Melisandre is a Red Priestess, which is why she is called the "red woman". Red Priestesses are blessed by the Lord of Light and have various magical abilities that can vary from Priestess to Priestess. Which is why Stannis pulled the flaming sword from the pyre, to prove his worth to the Lord of Light. Melisandre explains exactly why she is immune to the poison in her final words to the dying old man. "The night is dark and full of terrors (the poison) old man, but the fire burns them all away". Red Priestesses cannot be poisoned in any manner. As a Red Priestess she is filled with the fire of the Lord of Light, so as soon as she drinks the poison the fire within her instantly burns it away.
